Who goes to IKEA just for their food(besides me?). Enter through the glass doors, go up the stairs(or take the elevator) and use the shortcut to the left to get to the Restaurant. For the price of what you pay at a fast food joint, you can get a plate of 8 Swedish Meatballs in gravy, a scoop of mashed potatoes, lingonberry sauce, and steamed vegetables for $ 4.99. For a buck more, you can get 5 more meatballs. They also have other items besides the meatballs. They serve breakfast, starting at a buck, and they have other plated items from grilled salmon, chicken, salads and desserts! They have chicken tenders and pasta for kids at $ 2.49. Kids also eat free on Tuesdays with a purchase of an adult entrée. Sign up for the IKEA Family Card and get member prices on select menu items. They make it easy to sign up, as there’s a kiosk when you first walk in. The Family Card members get free coffee and tea just for showing their card. No purchase necessary! Kick back and enjoy your meal in their newly redecorated dining area. They’ve made it homey and cozy, so its just like if you were at home. The portions are not hungry man size, but at those prices, you can order multiple food items and not break the bank.

Need a nice little break from your fully potty trained kiddos for an hour? Guess what… this IKEA is heaven on earth for those times. You start by checking your kids in to their super fun Smal Land kid area, then head upstairs to their café for a peaceful relaxing grown up time meal. As an added bonus, if you’re a vegan like me, you will be extra pleased with their spinach wrap veggie sandwich(ask for no feta). And if you’re pms’ing like I was the last time I was there and craving something greasy and salty, ask for a side of french fries. After a nice relaxing lunch, head back downstairs and pick up your now worn out kids who are ready to have a very inexpensive lunch of mac and cheese, chicken or Swedish meatballs(or the same thing you had if the kids are vegan too). After lunch, if you’re really brave — do what I do and let them explore IKEA pretending to live in all the cool room set ups. It’s a win win for everyone. :) If the kids are really good, and you don’t mind the sugar, buy them an ice cream cone on the way out. Or(vegan) Swedish Fish candies.

I shop at this IKEA once in s while. I decided to have some lunch and boy was I sorry I did that first, the service here is bad. No body smiles or are friendly. They had no forks out do I asked one of the worker and she gives me an attitude. Then I wait few minutes while my food is getting cold. Other customers were in search of forks and I told them that I had asked and that they will be bring in them out. I wait few more minutes and couldn’t wait no longer so I asked if she, the worker can go back and ask to bring the forks out. She tells me that she had already asked and that they will bring it out and ignores my request. I do no something about customer service but that is not the way to treat your customer. She finally goes back and walks back with the forks and doesn’t offer me the fork bug just shove the fork in the bin and walks away. I’ll never eat here again!!!

Good food and cheap prices. I always get the chicken dishes and absolutely love them but only when I am at IKEA and hungry. I would not come here only for the food. The smaller shop downstairs has finger foods and coffee is just 75 cents. Almost everyone takes the $ 1 frozen yogurt. I even like the swedish chocolate bars. Just hit the food courts during off peak hours when most of the crowd is shopping

Well its probably has been 10 year since I last ate at ikea. I don’t think much has changed since other than the prices. I remember back in the day the meatballs use to be like a few bucks, now with inflation its about $ 5 and a $ 1 extra if you want 4 more meatballs. Overall the food is decent but definitely not worth making a special trip out just to eat ikea food. Desserts are good and very reasonable priced, my fiancé got this semi frozen chocolate peanut butter cake that was only a couple of bucks.

the meatballs don’t really taste that great to me… fries are just fries, nothing special. however, environmental wise… always get crowded and good atmosphere. kids everywhere and good place to rest

The price is cheap. They redecorated the eating area. The corner play area doesn’t exist anymore… then still have a small play area. I like the free coffee that u can get with ur free family membership card. It’s free each time you visit. Breakfast meal is only $ 1.00. I only like the potatoes on it. The eggs are gross. I do like the meat balls here and the cinnamon rolls. I wish they brought back Friday Fish Day for 2bucks. The kids meals are a good deal… ;) The coffee is good. Can’t really complain when it’s free!!! Make sure you look at ur mugs. There have been times I had broken mugs.

Love this Ikea! :) It’s huge and they have a good selection of furniture and available stock, unlike the smaller store in Carson. I enjoy eating at the cafeteria upstairs(love the meatballs plate with gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce), as well as the mini one downstairs. You get free coffee or tea each visit with membership too. The only thing I hate is having to traverse the long, drawn out path on the way down to checkout. There are a few shortcuts but it doesn’t shorten the steps by much. I know they want to sell more stuff, but this path isn’t easy for some people, including heavily pregnant women to have to walk through(I don’t like elevators so I never take them). Minus 1 star for that. There is a play area for young kids located inside the store too, which I think is a plus, but we have yet to try it with our toddler.

Quality used to be so much better before but I still think their awesome meatballs! I doubt I’ll ever stop coming every once in awhile to get some of them. The chicken meatballs are pretty good as well but the original ones are still the best ones! Don’t forget to get some of their frozen yogurt when you get downstairs!

IKEA cafeteria is a a descent size and contains a variety of different selections. The line was bigger than usual but it was moving fast. The items ordered were the chicken meatball combo which was $ 4.99 and the vegetarian meatballs. Both combos came with smash potatoes and vegetables. You can never go wrong with IKEA meatballs. To make things even better they had a promotion where if you spend more than $ 100 in IKEA furniture, they reimburse your meal! Which we did! Nothing better than free meatballs. Overall my furniture shopping experience was much better coming to the cafeteria. The only thing I didn’t like was the noise level with the crying kids and the soda machines. Other than that, the food was great and I’ll be back for some meatballs.

Decent cafeteria style food! Everyone usually opts for the Swedish meatballs and I’m no different! for $ 5 you get 8 meatballs with gravy, mashed potatoes, lingonberry sauce, and steamed vegetables. It’s not a huge amount of food but it will settle your stomach no problem. I also never order fountain drinks when I go out to eat, but they have a tasty lingon berry drink that I never find elsewhere. My girlfriend thinks it’s plain fruit punch but I would like to believe otherwise lol. The meatballs are great especially with the berry sauce! I’m not sure what lingonberries are supposed to taste like but this sauce makes the meal! I believe you can add 4 meatballs for a dollar to any entrée. p.s please place your trays at the tray carts when you’re done eating :)

No, I don’t go to Ikea for the food. But sometimes it can be nice to take a break from shopping and have a bit to eat, especially if you have kids with you(no need for anyone to get hangry). Overall, the quality of the food is poorer than most restaurants I’d go to, but when you consider the overall experience(convenient, inexpensive, can be somewhat healthy), it’s pretty good. Vegetarian and vegan options are decent and they even have vegan«meatballs». The veggie balls were not the best thing I’ve ever had, they tasted like they were from a freezer bag, as did the steamed vegetables which accompanied them, but sprinkle some black pepper on them and they weren’t bad for around $ 5. A bit tastier was the quinoa chili that comes with the veggie ball plate, or on its own with rice. And hey, if you eat so much that you get tired, there are beds available in store!

Eating at the IKEA restaurant reminds me of eating on a plane. And sometimes I like plane food but I wouldn’t catch myself craving plane food. So when I’m in Ikea it’s like seeing a squirrel but instead SWEDISHMEATBALLS. Swedish meatballs for $ 5 with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce is a deal. A deal I wouldn’t drive forty minutes for, but a sweet deal on top of my sweet new items for the house. Going to IKEA is like an event. You go shopping, then have to find your marked bin items in the warehouse downstairs, wait on line to check out, get hungry and while you’re at it you might as well treat yourself to something you can’t get every day– so you do– and you indulge on mad food for $ 10. I’m not sure if this review for the«IKEA Restaurant» includes the fast food past the cashiers section, but I’m going to talk about the gummy candy anyway. The candy was SUPERHARD. Anybody else purchase 1 lb of Ikea’s cola and sour cherry gummies and almost crack your back molars? I was disappointed. $ 1 Cinnamon buns. I realized these aren’t as good as I thought they were from memory. I was expecting more Cinnabon and it was just a little stale and lacking icing. Pizza… I don’t like how they can’t rewarm your slice here. I know it’s cheap, but still– a dollar is a dollar and if the pizza looks like it’s been there for hours, I think they should be able to heat it up for you a little. Hotdogs are alright. Again cheap, but there’s no way they compare to Costco! All in all, the restaurant upstairs is my go-to. I wish you could get a fountain soda cup instead of a glass one upstairs. It would be nice to sip the Diet Coke while I shop after eating my meatballs. But maybe they do this so no one can spill on the inventory while shopping! Ha. Safe delicious bang for the buck: go to Ikea restaurant for the Swedish meatballs and lingonberry fountain. Add extra meatballs for $ 1

Meatballs, Mashed potatoes, Ribs, salmon, Mac & cheese, CAKE. Wow all they need is steak and I can basically live here! I absolutely love the meatballs here. Their $ 5.99 meatball combo comes with about 8 meatballs, mashed potato, gravy, cranberry sauce. Add an extra $ 1 for 5 extra meatballs, what a DEAL. In fact, they even have chicken meatballs now. But the original is better :) Downstairs they have: $ 1 cones(so satisfying), $ 46 pack of cinnamon rolls(15 grams of sugar deliciousness), and $ 2 for 2 hotdogs and a drank(move over Costco!)

Veggie. Ballz. Was not expecting the veggie balls to be so good at a place known for their meatballs. However, I thought the veggie balls were way better than the meatballs… the meatballs kind of tasted like… fish balls. Like the chewy, slimy fishballs that you eat in phở or Chinese places.(decent, but a little off-tasting). I also got the cauliflower in sweet potato sauce. In a land where veggietables and healthy is synonymous with $$$$$$$, Ikea delivers healthy and cheap options. I ate those two dishes for about $ 8. Ball. Er.

Want something sweet & tart to go with your salty balls? Then let’s go to the IKEA restaurant! Seriously, this is probably the MAIN reason most people here have even heard of IKEA before. Those crafty Swedes! Make your @$$ eat a plate full of their smothered Swedish Meatballs first, then force you to SLOWLY walk through the clusterfrack of aisles for your cheap modern-ish furniture. You have no choice! Just think about the layout of your local IKEA! Restaurant always upstairs right near the escalators, turn the opposing way of the restaurant and you are HIT with traffic that goes in your opposite direction. Leading. You. Back. To. The. Restaurant. Ah nuts! So unless you’re a Vegan(although now they do serve Veggie Balls) you might as well suck it up, pull up a stacked cart, pick up some trays, and load them up with some of the best manufactured semi-authentic Swedish food this side of the Lule River. The IKEA restaurant is actually a nice chunk of real estate. It’s like Costco & Sam’s Club had a threesome with a Swedish cafeteria and popped out this massive baby! I really don’t know how they manage to operate this place without people getting run over by lunch cart or a baby stroller. At the IKEA restaurant they make it so damn easy to spend your money. They offer a $ 1 breakfast, $ 2 lunch, and $ 3 dinner daily! It’s like they almost expect you will spend an entire day there! And some of you will. And sadly, some of you probably already do. But for this review, the family and I went to the IKEA restaurant for lunch. I really don’t know how else to explain what we ate. Duh, each of us had the 15 Swedish Meatball plate with mashed potatoes & lingonberry sauce, most of it smothered in gravy! Yeah, it’s no Michelin star cuisine but it definitely fills you up! I don’t know why it has such an odd comfort to me, but at the same time I know real Swedes are laughing their @$$es off. I’m guessing most of them wouldn’t even dare to TOUCH this stuff! Us silly Americans! Fall for the cheap furniture, and now for the cheap food! I’m sure there’s some kind of authenticity there somewhere, but I myself have never been to Sweden or to an actual Swedish restaurant. I assume most of them make Swedish Meatballs? I certainly hope they do! Anyway, we all licked our plates clean! You almost want to go back for seconds. Luckily, after you go all Maze Runner on the IKEA warehouse, you can take some of these culinary jems home! Yep, pick up yourself a big bag of Swedish Meatballs, some packets of powdered gravy(yes you will have to cook it yourself you lazy dog), and a jar of that damn delicious lingonberry jam! For cheap! All that stuff costs less than 2 footlong Subway sandwiches. Sorry Jared, you ain’t touchin’ THESE balls. You naughty man, you. What’s even worse? As you are about to leave the monstrosity that is IKEA, they get you one last time with their little snack area! How convenient, it’s located right next to the EXIT! Literally, right next to the EXIT! I have a hard time resisting a cheap $ 1 soft serve ice cream cone(that actually rivals McDonald’s), or that $ 22 hot dog & drink combo(which aren’t really that great but somehow for $ 2 it seems like a steal). Last time to fill up on some lingonberry drink before you leave! While you’re at it, take home a tray of hot cinnamon rolls with you too. I’ve stopped at this stupid little snack area in IKEA. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I. VISIT. It’s never failed. Damn you, Swedes! Damn you! They don’t even make hot dogs in Sweden, do they? Yep, we Las Vegans will be spoiled with an IKEA in our neck of the woods(finally) sometime in 2016. Until then, our IKEA pilgrimage to the sunny state of California will continue. Swedish Meatballs for all! Except Jared. None for him.

It was dinner time and I’ve been meaning to return to the IKEA restaurant for a while now especially since they advertised their expanded healthy menu. I dined on smoked salmon and mixed vegetable salad. The dish was tasty and the right size portion for me. I recommend it for people who avoid dairy. 5 stars!

Finally, a vegan option at IKEA! …oh, was I the only one waiting for this? Anywho, their new VEGGIEBALLS are made with chickpeas, green peas, kale, corn, peppers, and pea protein, and come with a cauliflower and sweet potato sauce and a side of steamed veggies. They’re actually pretty good, but the steamed veggie side didn’t do anything for me. It was bland and just, mehh. I understand IKEA isn’t a gourmet restaurant, but c’mon. Us vegan folk like mashed potatoes and gravy too! Still, at less than $ 5, these definitely get two thumbs up from me :)

I don’t know what it is about Unilocal and me. I feel like I’m always going against the grain. Take IKEA Restaurant. It used to get four stars, now it gets three and a half. I once gave it two stars, but I’m bumping it up to three for the following reasons: — Vegetarian balls. Different than mock meat, they reminded me of fritters and they come with a curry-like sauce. Interesting to try at least once. This dish is vegan. — The IKEA Family Club grants you discounts and free coffee and tea: — Free wifi. Eating at IKEA Restaurant reminds me of eating on a plane. The food isn’t exactly gourmet, but it’s available when I’m hungry and it breaks up the monotony. Want another star, IKEA Restaurant? Start serving Absolut!

Meatballs and lingonberries. Who doesn’t love these things? Make fun of me if you must but I love them! The gravy is what makes those meatballs. You can buy everything to prepare at home as well in their food department near the checkout. Plus I like their gravad lax(dill cured salmon), it’s light and not too fishy. It’s not gourmet food, but it’s not McDonald’s either. Plus everything is cheap. Two meals less than $ 10!
