I have to have it every time I’m in OC! It was a staple when we lived in Costa Mesa. Delicious! Taquitos, beef tacos, carne asada burrito so delish!

The food is usually pretty good here. The prices are decent. The service is really inconsistent. Today I ordered 2 chicken tacos. 5 minutes after paying the cashier yelled at me «what did you order again»? 2 chicken tacos. Ok. 3 minutes later: «for here or to go?» The tacos were good, but the extra 10 minute wait and rude service ruined it for me. Also, sometimes they give you chips, sometimes they don’t.

If you are in Costa Mesa and you want some Mexican food this spot Great Mex is much better than the Cabo Grill about a half mile up north. Better food and service.

I love this place! Their chicken quesadilla is to die for, I always boost mine with fresh veggies ;-) Andres really makes an effort to make you feel that you’re eating home. He really takes to heart«mi casa es su casa»

Amazing food, great customer service, they have indoor and outdoor seating. I love their Taco Tuesday deal! The only issue is finding a parking spot, If you can’t get a spot in the front try on the street or out in back, get creative not aggressive! Also ordering before going never hurts as good food attracts good people.

Solid spot for Taco Tuesday, not as good as some of the offerings in Santa Ana, but good for the area and authentic. Nice that it is open late in an area that shuts down by 9 pm food-wise during the week.

My sister in law recommend this place because they have great deals for Taco Tuesday. Overall, the tacos were pretty good but the customer service was horrible. They were pretty busy the first time I visited so I figured they were just stressed out and not in good moods. After several visits the customer service has not improved. I like the food but the service has kept me away.

So maybe they don’t always have time to greet you when you walk in. They don’t have a host/hostess working so I don’t feel it’s very fair to judge them on that. Bottom line is, yes, sometimes it’s busy(especially on Taco Tuesday) & it’s a small location so seating can be limited. But, every time I’ve been, their food is always delicious & they get orders out quick! I usually call in for pick up, & it’s always ready in under 10 minutes. It’s been glorious living down the street from this place(:

Great taco tuesday prices and their hot sauce is on point. My bf and I wanted to try something new and decided to come here. The parking lot is kind of a disaster because it is so tiny and the seating situation was a little difficult but we managed to park on the street and find outside seating. I ordered the carne asada, al pastor and fish taco and I loved all three. I could’ve definitely devoured at least 2 more. This place is so close to my house, I am definitely coming back

Disappointing on multiple levels. Upon entering the cashier was too busy with her phone to greet me. After ordering the first table I said that had spit on it or I hope that was spitting out something else. $ 6 for some lame tacos. Last time I’m going.

My low rating is for service not food. Food gets a 2−3ish. Iv held out on writing this review because I wanted to believe the shitty attitudes from 2 of the regular female employees was just me(yes they work the same shift). I have eaten here a total of 5x purposefully to test this out. The cashiers are so catty, dismissive, and MALEDUCADAS. I watch how they treat the male and older patrons, no problem. Females? Problem. Each time iv entered Im secretly being sized up, then made to wait. I SWEARIMNOTMAKINGTHISUPLOL! ITSLIKEIMIN A NIGHTCLUBWITHEVERYONEPUFFINGTHEIRPEACOCKFEATHERS. I JUSTWANTED A DAMNTACO! Despite their caras de mierda, Ill still eat the food. After All I can see them make it if Im a bitch back.

Good Mexican food. Cheap, especially on taco tuesdays+Fridays. I don’t like how the fries they use for their asada fries are so thin though. They don’t give you your receipt unless you ask for it. Also no free chips at this location): so minus a star.

Pros + Tasty food + Decent veggie options, got veggie quesadillas + Friendly staff, quick service + Value for $ Cons — Limited seating area — Not well ventilated(my fleece jacket smelled like quesadillas after I got out!) — Greasy food, couldn’t clean up my plate — Hygiene could be improved!

Holy lord not only is this place DIRT cheap, but the food is so fresh and amazing! The location is also fantastic cause once your full of delicious tacos you can take a stroll along the Newport Beach Boardwalk. I got the two plate combo with shrimp and carnitas tacos, and it also came with a side of rice and beans. Seriously, I could have sat there and ate those tacos all day. the sauce on the shrimp tacos was absolutely amazing and the carnitas tacos were stuffed to amazement. The rice and beans themselves were flavorful! We bought meals for 5 people and the whole thing ended up being $ 30. That’s absolutely absurd coming from an East Coaster who expects to pay $ 15/plate! If I’m in the area, you know where I’ll be eating :)

Talk about great burgers and fries and drinks! Let’s talk about them all, maybe over a lunch? Shoot me a message and we’ll get going lol But on the real notes this place is great. Been here many times and I can’t get enough of it. I love there basil strawberry lemonade drink and overall it’s a finger licking good delicious food! I usually get the habanero burgers and it’s the best thing they got. Don’t forget to Message me! I love food

I’ve been to the Newport location, and it’s been okay so I decided to give this location another try. The salsa was much better this time. I’ll come back again, but for now I’m giving it an A-okay!

Yummy fresh Mexican food in OC thats not medicore. Minus one star because they charge a buck for a side of chips & they charge for to go salsa containers… really? :l This place gets pretty packed during the weekday lunch rush so be sure to call in and order ahead!

Mexicans DO use ground beef, FYI previous nay-sayer. I am from New Mexico and the Mexican restaurants there use ground beef. Its origin comes from Mexican food being combined with American Indian food and it’s just about impossible to find any Mexican restaurants here who serve it, which SUX. I’ve been to Anita’s New Mexico Style Mexican Food in Fullerton and they serve ground beef in a lot of their items, but their problem is that they over salt everything and ruin it. This place does ok with the ground beef tacos. The thing is, they’re amazing sometimes, but other times, they aren’t. Sometimes the beef is too chunky and not broken up fine enough and other times it is great. Sometimes it’s dry but other times it’s juicy. I like the grease to drip out like Taco Bell tacos used to be 35 years ago. Also, sometimes their shells are too thick and totally crack apart the taco on the 1st bite, but other times they’re really good. They’re always crispy and homemade — who cares that the shape is the same as fast food taco places, jeeze. Maybe they use a form for the tortilla before they fry it. You can tell they are freshly fried and that they’re NOT the taco shells they use at fast food restaurants. Annoying reviewer, getting on my nerves, with your annoying little«LOL» and your so-called Mexican friend who is the Queen of knowing what Mexican food is supposed to be. I have also tried the bean crispy taco, but it was bland and I wouldn’t order again, even though it was only $ 1 on their daily special. I have also tried the potato taco but would not order again. Although the ground beef tacos aren’t AS perfect as the ones in New Mexico, it’s all I have to fall back on here, for now. If anyone reading this knows of any other non-fast food places in OC that sell crispy greasy ground beef tacos, please let me know!

Where is the owner, where is the manager. As we drive up at 7:50PM, someone walks up and and turns off the neon open sign. Then when we walk in the girl at the counter tells us they are closed. We finally convince her that we only want tacos and that we will take them to go all while we are listening to the phone ring off the hook. The entire time we we’re waiting for our food the employees ignore of phones. Then we watched another couple walk up and another. All prior to the 8:00PM closing time and all of them pissed that they have to take there food to go. This is such a good place, the food is so yummy but the service absolutely sucks and the girl the closes the counter at night should be fired, if you ask me.
