Nice place to enjoy some cocktails and live music! Look for the arrow! This place is pretty difficult to spot.

They have a good selection of hand crafted cocktails. The«Get it Girl» was delicious. Vodka, elderflower, lime, cucumber and mint. It was not at all what I was expecting for some reason. It was refreshing and the alcohol wasn’t too overpowering. It reminded me of an aguas frescas with a really good balance of lime and cucumber. So yummy.

Definitely my favorite craft cocktail bar in OC. They have the best old fashioned in town and consistently great live musical acts. This place is seriously a hidden gem(literally hidden and a little hard to find, just look for the lit up arrow). This is a soulful bar with a great staff that has strong cocktail knowledge and is always friendly. Just a heads up: They no longer have any kind of password or reservation system. I repeat, NOPASSWORDREQUIRED! It is first come, first serve which has improved accessibility and makes it a lot less of a hassle than it was when they first opened. NOCOVERCHARGE either!

Great place for live music and a cocktail! One of the few bars in OC with style and great drinks. It’s next to a auto shop which makes it even more secret/rustic/Instagram photoshop worthy. Interiors are adorable, very LA/NYC. Will take friends and OC visitors alike!

This place is just awesome. As soon as we walked in, I fell in love with the décor. It definitely has that speakeasy feel and the bar is really pretty. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They had the holiday drink menu, which consisted of «Czeching it twice»(basically an Old Fashioned) and«Madame Bee Sting»(a lemon, gingery pang of a drink) which was absolutely delicious! There was a great live band that played as well that kept the vibes going. Can’t wait to go back!

Place is great. The cocktails are as good as the crowd. It’s a gem. It’s on the smaller side but that’s also what makes it great.

Highlights + Nice Interior + Cool workers + Nice clients ± Small place ± Kinda Fancy — Difficult to find Went there on a Friday night and at first was confused at the treatment I received from the hostess. She made me feel like I was an uninvited guest to some kind of red carpet event in Hollywood. But after I got over the fact that this is how they greet everyone, it was enjoyable to watch the other newcomers baffled in confusion. The drinks were on the moderate pricing side($ 9 for a well whiskey, $ 3 for club soda), everyone was somewhat dressed up(don’t go here in a tank top or shorts) and the staff was pretty awesome. I’d have to say that the only drawback would be that the max. cap. for this place would probably be about 50 if packed like sardines. Oh, and they had a live jazz/chill 3 man band.

Came on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday & had to wait because it was at capacity(the security guy takes his job seriously!) but enjoyed the live jazz music while I waited. Once I got in, I felt as if I was back in New Orleans. Décor is simple, yet classic/Victorian. It took a while to get drinks but they make special cocktails. The dj played good dance music after the jazz band & the projected movie outside was entertaining.

You have to make a reservation on their website they will call you to confirm anywhere between 3 – 7 pm I got a call at 5 pm … I got there at 8:30 and it was pretty empty the band was setting up the waitresses and workers there were really nice and attentive … It has a speakeasy vibe and setting décor really small but cute and unfortunately really hot in there they do have a tiny outside patio. The specialty drinksmade it worth it but the music last night was awful the girl singing was just making a lot of noise«AHHHHHH». Dress code people pretty chill jeans and vest and nice shoes i wore a dressy romper with wedges.

This place rocks! What a sweet back door find. I absolutely enjoy the speakeasy vibe of this place. Right in the middle of costa mesa, very low key, yet so full of life and v lots to enjoy here. Very small space but who doesn’t love close human proximity where you can observe the human condition… lol yes im a total sociologist. Lol. Very kick back, great bands playing outside our just cool music in the bar area. Thumbs up. Costa mesas secret.

My first experience here was amazing from the start. Wanted to plan a special evening for Valentines. Staff was friendly to answer my questions over the phone and via email( ) and help me though the«secret password» /reservation process. Which you can get same day or in advance w/request. The place has the 1920’s speak easy meets super cool hipster vibe to it, but what caught my attention the most was the LIVEENTERTAINMENT: JAZZ/BLUES performances. They have a different band or performer each week, so awesome! Not a lot of that goin around. The DRINKS! A unique variety of creative mixs! Don’t be afraid to try something new, dive in! Their all beautifully made and flavorful. DRESSCODE: while the bouncer was nice enough to understand first timers from outta town, don’t make the mistake of wearing beach clothes and flip flops. Dress it up, put on a bow tie and some leather converse, style your hair! for lord sake ;) My only complaint was the seating, there were not enough stools to sit on and the ones I sat on were so uncomfortable. They do not serve food which is not a bad thing because I feel like a busy kitchen would totally take away the ambiance of the environment, but maybe some light peanuts or popcorn would do for the future. Overall, great time, great drinks, will def come here again!

3.5÷5 I was so happy to find a vintage bar closer to home rather than having to venture out to LA. Here’s the breakdown of my experience: INFO: — RSVP ahead of time by calling or through email — Dress nicely(not strictly cocktail attire, but no flip flops or jeans– people get serious and come all dapper!) — I was told by a worker that if you find seating, order a drink through a server NOT at the bar. If you are ordering from the bar first and manage to find a table later be sure to close out your tab first. — Park across the street PROS: — Vintage screening! They were playing an Audrey Hepburn movie on screen — Live jazz band — Great decorative theme(concave DJ booth into the side wall, framed liquor storage, bookshelf and mirrors) — Great mixologists and cocktails with quality ingredients like fresh citrus fruits and egg whites. CONS: — Cover fee(Even though my friend and I made a reservation, we still had to pay $ 5 cover fee) — Patience with drinks. The bar is rather small and like all good drinks, they take time to make. — Be ready to dance or stand. Seating is SUPER limited so be prepared to dance to the music or stand around(even then space is crowded) — How many«what?“s until you give up trying to hear what the person next to you is saying LOL the DJ music was rather loud and people were all yelling at one another and it was difficult to have a conversation. Overall, you are very much paying for the atmosphere but it is definitely a pleasant change in scenery from the clubbing culture :)

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night for the first time after RSVPing earlier that same day(you have to RSVP to get in) online and receiving a phone call from the host confirming. There was a $ 5 cover charge but completely worth it after sitting down for about 10min and realizing that a small Jazz band was just about to get started on the tiny stage. They were really good. The singer had a sultry voice that completely went with the vibe and mood. The ambiance was perfect and the drinks were excellent. After about an hour or so the band was done and they had a dj that played a mix of everything from Elton John’s «Bennie and the Jets» Pop/Rock to Hip Hop. The décor is vintage chic and there is a screen behind the stage where they have a classic movie playing in the background just as an added little touch. This place is awesome. Bottom line. It’s a really little hidden gem in Costa Mesa that I only wish I found sooner. We will be back :)

I absolutely love this place. Every drink I got here is absolutely delicious and made to perfection. Bartenders are super friendly, The place is also super cute with vintage décor. Plenty of seating around the bar. Also has a small dance floor. You have to RSVP to get in, as there is a door guy in front asking you for your name. Most nights its free, but there is a cover when there is a band/special event.

Last night was my 2nd time in Casa… ever. Here’s the run down. 1. 21+ only. ID’s shown at the door. 2. Email an RSVP for a password to get in. Saves you from a cover charge. 3. Trust the mixologists. They’ll find you something yummy. 4. Bathrooms are by the front door 5. Dress code seems to be enforced. No flipflops, shorts, or tanks. Dress it up people! Just kidding, jeans, sneakers, and tshirts seem to be appropriate here too. I personally wore a LBD. 6. Parking is across the street. Over all, I don’t know exactly what I ordered as someone else practically ordered for me. At one point, there was drink switching and it was a good switch. Good place to go with a group of 2 – 4, maybe not on a date as it can get loud.

My first impression was, «A unique, hidden speakeasy tucked into south OC.» I discovered this hidden gem while looking for a place to take the bf out for his birthday. Costa Mesa local spot that is not your typical bar scene but a classy upgrade with handcrafted drinks and a variety of live music from jazz to alternative. It’s an intimate, yet fun spot to listen to some good music and indulge in some specialty drinks with a date or small group of friends. It feels 1920s but not in a cheesy themed kind of way, rather, genuine and classic. We had the piña colada and son of a bee specialty cocktails which were delicious, presentable, and so creatively mixed by the bartender who artistically put together our drinks. To get on the guest list you need to RSVP online and receive a special code word to get in. The concept is cool and interesting and makes it a fun and unique process to get in like an old speakeasy. The lasting impression? «A modern play on a speakeasy with so much character! The perfect combination of good drinks, good music, and good crowds.»

First of all, I love speakeasies! I wish there were more of them in Orange County! I LOVE the fact that there’s no sign in front, the entrance is in back, and you need a password to get in. Even though you can easily obtain it by going to their website and making a day-of reservation, you still feel like it’s exclusive, you’re in-the-know and, plus, it’s just kind of fun. It’s fairly small inside, but that’s also one of the reasons I like it. It’s intimate, chic, and classy with a beautiful book case, chandelier, piano player and black & white movies playing in the background. It kind of reminds me of a New York speakeasy with a hipster Silver Lake(LA) crowd. I would say the bartenders are more like«mixologists» here because they know what they’re doing when it comes to making cocktails. They definitely spend more time, love, and effort on them based on your preferences(e.g. I asked for low sugar) and whatever the fresh seasonal ingredients are at the time. Apparently limes were in short supply and high demand(??) when I was there so the Moscow Mule cost $ 2 more than usual because of the fresh-squeezed lime juice in it. I’ve only been on Friday nights when Jacque, the piano player, is playing, but apparently they also have DJs and bands so I would love to come back again to check out the different vibes.
