We dropped in for a quick bite to eat for lunch. First of all I suggest that you grab a table because they’re hard to come by at lunch time. I wanted to try something different so I got the grilled cheese with brie apples and fig jam. It was absolutely delicious and it came with a nice little side salad. My son had the Italian sandwich. Just a word of warning for those of you who do not care for a lot of mayonnaise. They were a little heavy-handed on the Mayo so be sure to ask for easy mayonnaise. He also mentioned that they used a spicy mustard that seemed like it had horseradish in it which he wasn’t too fond of. So next time we’ll know to ask them to take it easy on the Mayo and mustard. One last thing, we bought one of their sourdough loaves and had wanted them to slice it for us but we were told that because it had jalapeño in it they couldn’t use their machine to slice the bread. They were afraid that the jalapeño would contaminate the blades. Not sure why they couldn’t just wipe the blades down after they sliced the bread. Whatever!

We had to clean our own table and seats after standing for several minutes. We informed them about the lack of table space and they said someone would be out to clean shortly. After we cleaned our own, nobody wiped any of the others down the entire time we were there. The entire place just felt unclean after that. The food was prepared just«okay» compared to the location inside the mall. It was half off wine though so two stars for that!

Service here was absolutely great, I just wish I could say the same for the food. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad… and the chicken tasted a bit like tuna. Not sure why. My mom ordered the French dip, which she said was mediocre. My sister ordered the clam chowder and bbq chicken salad combo, which was kind of bland and not creamy. However, it is clean and the sourdough is chewy as it’s supposed to be.

I ordered the BBQ chicken salad for lunch. The chicken was okay, but the lettuce was brown and wilted. Yuck. My husband liked his grilled cheese sandwich.

Exceptional service. Anthony went above and beyond to help my group yesterday as we celebrated my last day at work. I am so grateful to him and his staff for going the extra mile to make everything right. The salads are delicious and the bread bowls are amazing. Thank you for excellent food and quick, exceptional service!

After a night of painting with my Unilocal bud we came over here because like always I was hungry. I had painted up an appetite. I have seen this place several times when I was in the area so I was excited to finally try them out. We walk in and there is a line but it moved quickly. I could see people eating. And talking and it looked like they were enjoying their food. I immediately saw all the fresh baked bread and my Inner Fatty was celebrating the carb fest I was about to have. We finally get up to the front and I finally decide to get the turkey and cranberry sand. I’m mean who doesn’t LOVE Turkey Day Dinner on a sand? And if you don’t PLEEAASSEEE spare me your diatribe about PETA and your reasons of why I should be vegan or a vegetarian because to me PETA stands for… P — People E — Eating T — Taste A — Animals OR… P — Please E — Eat T — The A — Animals Anyway I digress. I asked what kind of bread I could get and my choice were sourdough and whole wheat. WHAT! REALLY? Is this NOT a BREADPLACE? I know this place specializes in sourdough but for the love of all that is GLORIOUS about eating carbs give me more of a choice. I wanted the rosemary that came with some special sand but sadly I was brutally rebuffed. So I went with the sourdough. After all I do LOVEMESOMESF sourdough bread. I also got a side of green(salad) to go with it. I pay and wait for my order and they call my name and I grab some napkins and we leave. Once I get home I dive into my sand while Legg’s rubbed my feet. I should have had a personal masseuse on the payroll years ago. And he does it just because… he’s a keeper. I’m eating and chatting and realize THISSOCALLEDFAMILYSOURDOUGHRECIPE that was handed down generation after generation has missed a key ingredient. There is no SOURDOUGH taste ATALL. It was just your run of the meal WHITEFLOURBREAD! UGHH! I paid nearly $ 10 for DIS-MESS? And YES I do mean DIS-MESS! The sand wasn’t bad I just was EXPECTING it is LIVEUPTOTHE name of my bread selection which was SOURDOUGH! If I wanted a PLAINWHITEBREAD sand I could have went home and made one! The bread was fresh and soft but it was DEFINITELY a DISAPPOINTMENT! Plus the bread ends were a bit harder than I have had in the past eating sourdough bread and I have had sourdough bread from SF before. I was THANKFUL I don’t use Poligrip because that bread crust would have taken my teeth out. GOODGRACIOUS! I can’t say I’ll be back as I was SUPERUNDERWHELMED and disappointed with the lack of BREAD selection at a BAKERY!

Clam chowder is super bland here. Not creamy at all. Chili is nothing special. Really bland. Corner Bakery chili is waaaay better. Even Wendy’s has this place beat. Caesar salad is on par with Denny’s. Nothing special. Dont waste your time here.

Don’t know what Aileen is talking about this place has the best clam chowder, even better than the one at Pier 39 in San Fran. The price is right too! I devoured the whole thing in less than 30 mins. And no even if this place sucked I wouldn’t freaking opt for Panera bread. lol are you serious!

Crap I forgot to take a photo of my sandwich after I ate it I thought about taking a photo but it was too late. All right so today was my first day try this place out as I saw how many people were actually eating at this place. They really have me curious to try the clam chowder in the bread bowl so I got that and the chicken avocado sandwich. Only mistake I made at this place was not getting to chicken avocado sandwiches that’s a whole amazing that sandwich was. If you’re in the area and are curious about trying this plays out I highly recommend it. If you do go please take a photo of the bread that is shaped like a turtle it’s only two bucks. There’s plenty of parking so you’re good there not a lot of seating since it is a credit spot they do have seating outside but today was super windy so I did not want to sit outside. This place gets five stars from me!

Passing on the soups and sandwiches here, I go straight to the to go counter and grab some bread. That is really the highlight here and a much better value than dining in. Their sourdough is fantastic, both the loaves and the baguettes are heavenly and last quite well. Pairs well with sweet or savory, I try to stop in whenever I am in the area and am always happy with their product!

I got the half and half combo: clam chowder with the ham & brie sandwich. Both were mediocre at best. The clam chowder was fairly sweet(don’t ask me why, I don’t know), and although there were enough clam chunks in there, that was pretty much all there was; it failed to be wholesome. The ham & brie came with the all-so-famous sourdough so I expected a lot… The bread ended up being the whole sandwich, pretty much. The ratio was 3:1, the 1 being the inner contents. Furthermore, all the ingredients were only on one end so at one point, I was literally only eating bread with cranberry jam. If the bread were THAT great, I would not mind at all… but no. Would not come back again! I’d much rather go to a Panera or a Corner Bakery.

I ordered the pick-2. Southwest chicken salad and chili bowl. Ranch dressing on the salad was half-watered down and frothy. Yes, «frothy». Try saying that out loud and picturing a cup of ranch. Chicken on the salad, came in two GIANT, UNCUT chunks that were cold and clammy on what could have been a fresh tasting salad. Chili consisted of chunks of ground beef(like a mega sized frozen meatball was broken up with a wooden spoon), some lightly spiced tomato-ey red sauce, and beans beans beans beans beans. I apologize to my date for the theatrics these beans created later in the evening. Chili could have used some other vegetables, or maybe just not so many beans. Thank goodness the sourdough still tastes the same here. I had three bites of the bread bowl topper and it was the best part of the whole experience.

Service was really great. Everyone was friendly and would smile and acknowledge you ion each passing. The restaurant was clean, and appeared to be well managed. The low rating is strictly due to the meal quality. It was barely edible. I was really disappointed. It had been years since I ate at this chain and can’t stomach the idea of ever coming back :/

THISREVIEWISFROM10−01−15. I previously wrote it on the WRONG Boudin location. This review is for the METROPOINT location. I’ve been using your catering services for years now for Boeing, but my order today was over the top! Normally just order lunch, but today I needed breakfast & afternoon snacks also, so I just want to mention that everything was above par. The Baker’s Breakfast Basket was delicious. Everything was steaming fresh and the quality was exceptional & delicious. Loved the chocolate croissants! OMG The Yogurt Parfait was amazing. Best Greek yogurt I’ve ever eaten. It was very creamy, light and the sweetness was amazing. Of course the lunch sandwiches and salads are always delicious and very well presented. Your staff never forgets anything… from plates, napkins, cups, utensils and even spoons for the salad dressings. This is the first time I’ve seen the Antipasti platter and the photo does not do it justice. It’s huge and beautiful! I also ordered the Bruschetta and appreciate that you don’t deliver it in the bread bowl. I like that attention to detail. The Treats Basket always impresses and I love the personal touch of the holiday cookies. I’d like to thank Juanita(the driver) for her always prompt & exceptionally friendly delivery & service and the staff on the phone is always attentive and accommodating. Thanks this time to Christina & Fi from the call center. I’d also like to thank Jason(customer rep) for the personal service he always provides to Boeing also. It’s truly appreciated.

Came here for a work lunch midweek. Prior though I’ve been stopping by this Boudin’s when I’d be in the plaza shopping. I’ve always liked Boudins, it’s a simple place to get soup, salads, and sandwiches. I always order either the you pick two, or the soup salad combo. I went with the Asian Chicken Salad, and clam chowder in a bread bowl this time. Which was good! I am a big soup person too, so I like all their soups here. My coworkers enjoyed the butternut squash soup, and their salads as well!

This Boudin SF location is located at Metro Pointe(There is also one at South Coast Plaza by the way), specifically next to Pac Sun. I came by this place with my mom two Sundays ago around 6 pm for dinner. After a full afternoon of shopping at South Coast Plaza and Metro Pointe, we thought it would just be easier to have dinner here instead of looking for another place to eat at before heading back to LA(home). Anyways, with only one person ahead of us in line, we browsed through the menu board and got the following: Soup Salad Combo(with clam chowder and chicken kale salad), $ 9.59 prior to tax– I am a big sandwich, soup and salad person(also love sushi and sashimi as well in case you wanted to know the S’s of food that I like) and so I decided to get this. With the soup, I had to get the famous clam chowder, especially on the cold night that we were there, it was perfect. This chowder was served in a sourdough bread bowl and yes I did eat the bowl too afterwards(it was like having a soup sandwich, lol). The sourdough itself had a nice sour taste and chew that you know and love and is consistent with Boudin’s famous sourdoughs. The salad itself was good, but wished it did not have cheese(if I knew, I would have asked to omit it because I don’t like cheese on my salad). I requested the dressing to be on the side, which is what I got(and appreciate). The chicken in the salad was just average, but tender. After having my soup and my salad and eating that darn tasty soupy sourdough bowl, I was totally full(probably should have just taken home my salad because I just had to have my sourdough bowl). Would definitely order this again. Turkey Avocado Sandwich, $ 8.69 prior to tax– My mom ordered this sandwich, which also comes with a salad(or you can get potato chips instead). Her sandwich was served cut in half(always appreciated when restaurants automatically do that, makes it easier to eat and less messy). Her turkey was tasty and tender and the avocado really makes for a creamy compliment. The meal itself is plenty for one person to get full. Would recommend ordering this. — — — — — — — — — — — (Total= $ 19.74 after tax) Seating is first come, first served. So if you come with another person, I would suggest that you have one person order and the other grab a table since the seating is kind of limited inside(there is also outdoor seating, but it was cold on the night we came). There was only one guy busing tables, but he was pretty quick and efficient at clearing them once people left. He was quite friendly and also just randomly asked people how is their food and if there was anything he could do to help. The employee who brought our plates was also friendly and also offered the same courtesy. In the end, my mom and I had a great meal after a long and fun day of shopping. We will most likely stop by here again the next time we are shopping in this area. By the way, there is free WiFi here(fast and unprotected). Unfortunately the woman’s restroom was out of order on this visit(so my mom and I just used the restroom at Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth afterwards).

Don’t know what to order?! I got you … Grilled Cheese Sandwich(classic), add a cup of the Roasted Garlic Tomato Soup, and a side of greens(salad)! Yum, yum, and yum! The picture I posted speaks for itself, the cheese is ooozing out of the sandwich, the soup is filled with flavor. Nothing special about the side salad, but it’s a substitution for the chips. You won’t be disappointed. Fresh bread daily! Love this place :)
