Bruh this place is the spot! The owner Pete always hooked it up. Everything from this place is good. I know a few firemen who would agree as well. The«breakfast machaca burrito is the best in the city… It is also the only place in the city to get a breakfast machaca burrito.» Hahaha nothing but good memories and full stomachs from this place.

I first tried this joint back in 1993 when it was still Alberto’s and I was a student at UCI. It was the first of the many ‘berto restaurants that I’ve tried(Alberto’s, Alerto’s, Albertaco’s, Roberto’s, Robertito’s, Molchasalsa, etc… all clones of the original Roberto’s). Back then, we’d come out here at 2am and I’d get my Carne Asada burrito and 3 rolled tacos for $ 5.01. As a starving college student with a metabolism on overdrive and a limited budget, Alberto’s had a special place in my pantheon of awesome eateries! I was in the area last week and decided to check it out again. It is unwise for me to finish off a burrito and 3 rolled tacos by myself nowadays so I just stuck to the burrito. The flavor was still fantastic and the red sauce was still great. The meat, however, was much chewier than I remember. If the meat wasn’t so tough, I’d probably give it a 5 star. The price has gone up a bit, so it was over $ 6 for just a burrito. Still not too bad considering the size, and the memories it brought back were priceless.

Best burrito I have had in a long time! Cash only but they have an ATM in front. It’s off Victoria and 19th :)

Pros: 1. It’s open 24 hours! 2. It’s drive-thru. 3. They’re quick. 4. It’s relatively close to UCI. 5. It’s pretty satisfying if you have some real cravings! Cons: 1. Area is a little sketch(mostly during late night). 2. It’s not exactly the best(but what did you expect?) I’ve been here multiple times. And honestly, as a college student, this is one of the closest places that I’ve found to satisfy my carne asada fries cravings! Their carne asada fries are pretty good, it’s the only thing I get! They give you a pretty decent amount. The fries are usually crispy. The carne asada is a bit too chewy at times(but I still eat it anyway)! I love their guac! It definitely ties everything together. And also, I load my fries up with their red sauce. It hits the spot haha! It’s a bit pricey, but considering that it’s the closest location for late night food, there’s not much I can complain about. I usually get hit with the cravings late at night, and being in Irvine means that stores and restaurants close pretty early. It’s pretty convenient because it is open 24 hours AND it’s drive-thru(in case you’re too lazy to change or get out of your car)! This place may be a hit or miss, but if you’re a UCI student or someone who has the munchies that is within the area, this place is your best bet!

Carne Asada burrito with salsa here is the nuts. If you’re used to crap Mexican food you may not be ready for the real deal they serve here. Very authentic. Best Mexican in OC.

Still not sure how I feel about this place. Ate here twice and there was a odd taste each time. The first time I ordered a chimichanga which was soggy from all of the toppings and I’m guessing the grease from the chicken. I ended up throwing it away. The second time I ordered the nachos w/chicken and the same old/stale taste was noticeable as well. The red sauce isn’t spicy enough. I’ll give this place one more try before giving up. Both portions were huge though. One start for the drive-thru.

This place is great when everything else is closed… 24/hrs period. The have carne Asada fries, burritos, all on the lower end of quality.

I’ve given this place more than a fair shot — But over the course of a couple of tries, I’ve gotten wrong orders and just be disappointed in general. Also, service is never fast. I don’t think I’ll be back.

While the food is reasonably good, they have absolutely no customer service what so ever. They will stand there talking to each other while there’s people waiting to order, they seem only capable of taking care of one order at a time and nothing else. The cook cooks while the person(if they actually did anything) stands with his back to the order window talking to him(the guy cooking) if you do get their attention they give a nasty glare and continue to talk. I’m sure it’s some kind of inside joke to piss of more customers than serve them. If your luck when you stop here you’ll get the one friendly guy who does take multiple orders, but it’s like playing Russian roulette, you most likely will get one of the lazy workers. Either good luck if you decide to give it a try

I didn’t like this place. It was 2am, I was hungry, I didn’t really have much of a choice. They only have a red sauce, this boggles my mind. No love for green? The burritos were pretty small and the ratio of ingredients were off, tortilla was wrapped loosely and the inside wasn’t filled up. The California burrito was edible but not really enjoyable, too much pico de gallo and no real taste from the fries. Portion of meat was meager. My friends had the carne asada fries and it looked disappointing. Sad portion of fries, with things kind of just thrown in together.

I ordered the chicken fries. They came out and they looked good but I was wrong. The fries weren’t seasoned and the chicken was bland it was awful. I won’t be coming here again.

In the words of my friends «It did the job» «It was pretty okay» «Where was that again?» Come with desperate drunchies. If you are looking to explore fusion Mexican food, come to San Diego instead!”

Used to be great. Has gone way downhill. I found bone fragments and black plastic in my carne asada burrito. Will not go back. The other locations have always been good.

Two stars is me attempting to be veeeerryyy nice to this place. This is a very sad attempt at Mexican food and I’ll probably never come back again and I feel so awful writing this review but it had to be done. Cons: The carne asada was so bland I almost didn’t want to finish my taco. I also tried the carne asada fries and I took two bites and I did not want to have anymore. The guac on both the taco and fries tasted like powdered, fake guac and the salsa that they gave us was probably water with red food dye in it, so tasteless! Pros: It’s open late and the people working are friendly. I’m gonna try to find a better late night taco spot because this one doesn’t do the trick :(

Updated Review: Zero Stars Tsk tsk tsk! Such a shame! My first visit here was fantastic but then my second was just okay. I gave this business 3 more chances after that and not only did they raise their prices, but the carne asada was bland and the taquitos barely had any meat and was overly fried causing them to be dried and hard. Boo…

I considered Zero stars! This only has 1 star so I could write a review. Ridiculous prices, and that would even be true if the food wasn’t terrible. Don’t get me wrong, it’s edible, but just way to bland to be tasty. And when I asked what comes on the burrito: «meat, guacamole, and salsa»… WTF??? Save your money, and your taste buds!

This place is absolutely atrocious. I went here last night for a delicious late meal and ended up throwing up my Carne Asada fries all night. Literally couldn’t go to my classes today because I feel extremely terrible and my stomach is in serious pain. If you guys want good Mexican food cruise down to San Diego for a weekend, don’t go for this toxic crap.
