Suite 101 Salon

Garrett– please move to Los Angeles and cut my hair for $ 70 (like everyone else here). I am 6 months and 2 haircuts in, considering flying to Corvallis to get a decent haircut.

Called in advance and asked if they took walk-​ins. A guy answers the phone (owner I presume) says «yes». So I make the drive there and the second I walk in, the same guy on the phone asks if I have an appointment. I say no and then he informs that the next available slot is in 2 days and no time is available today.
One thing that bothers me is DISHONEST customer service. I don’t even care if they cut the best darn haircut. A liar is a liar. Shame on them.
If you see another review by another customer, it seems as though this is not the first time they are dishonest.

Loved my haircut and style by Jessica and have received compliments about it since. The price range is standard for high end salons, you get what you pay for. I read previous reviews about disinterested customer service, but from my perspective when the stylists are in the middle of caring for a customer, they finish what they’re doing before moving onto a waiting customer; a dry sense of humor prevails and I’m just fine with that. If you’re new to town and are looking for Suite 101, it’s across the street from the Majestic Theater at the top of the parking lot. Definitely recommend them!

I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I tried this place because it was close to my house and I’ve been hooked ever since. I now drive from Albany to get my hair done here. Jessica is fantastic. Not only is she professional, she is personable and funny. I have really long hair, and she always schedules extra time for me and is a perfectionist when dealing with my hair. I have never been disappointed. I recommend this place because the people that work here care about their clients. It’s an overall great atmosphere

The owner barely acknowledged me when I walked in to see if I could get a cut that day. He made his disinterest and disdain clear that I was walking in without an appointment. There was nothing to do but stop burdening him with my presence and leave.

Salon has a really welcoming vibe!

I’m from California and always had my hair cut by my cousin growing up so I was honestly terrified going into this. I went after seeing good reviews and also because I just needed to change my hair. For what I wanted, I was also terrified because it was a huge hair change for me. I was SO pleased by the way Jessica cut and styled everything. She totally understood what I wanted and nailed the ombré I was going for! LOVE my new hair and the confidence I’ve gained from it. Definitely would recommend this place!

Corvallis is extremely lucky to have someone like Garrett and a business like Suite 101.
Very rarely do you come across a business that cares about the individual customer and community, but that is how Suite 101 is. Suite 101 often does food drives, school supply drives, pet food drives for the humane society, and many other fundraisers for the community. It’s not often that a business is as generous as Suite 101. What other salons around here do that?
I see Garrett at Suite 101 and he is beyond amazing. He is the BEST!!! I often go in with a very rough idea of what I want done and Garrett will take my idea add suggestions and when I leave I look like a super model. I have never trusted a hair stylist as much as I do him. I will follow Garrett anywhere!
Garrett is truly interested in his clients’ lives. he takes the time to get to know each client. He makes each client feel important.

My natural hair color is dark brown, but I prefer to be blonde. I have not found many people who can cover my roots without a orange tint that does not match the rest of my blonde. But JESSICA GAGE is literally the best. I am from Seattle, Wa and never thought I would find someone as talented as her in the small town of Corvallis, after many let downs in Seattle salons. I am now done with school and live back in Seattle. I have driven down a few times to get my hair done by Jessica and always do when I know I will be in the area. Thank you for the great service and fun personality, it makes dropping 140 $ on my hair alittle more comforting. You Rock!

So, it has been a bit since my last review for the whole Brazilian thing, which was really fantastic. The eyelash extension thing was not. Right eye turned out ok, left eye, no so well. She had great difficulty placing the tape under my left eye and it was actually rubbing against the eyeball itself. My eye was watering profusely and she readjusted it/​replaced it about 6 times before getting the placement right. My eye was bloodshot and red for the next two days. It cleared up and my lashes looked great. Fast forward to seven days after the appointment and about 95% of the lashes had fallen out. It was not my first time getting extensions, and they usually last 3 weeks until I get them refilled These puppies were gone in 7 to 8 days. Sad face… I called to make an appointment to get them redone/​refilled, leaving a message via voicemail. She called back some days later and said that any «complaints must be made within 3 days (I think it was 3 days) in order for the problem to be… Sorry, I don’t remember the rest. Anywhoo… I actually wasn’t calling to complain, I just wanted a bit of advice and to see what she thinks may have led them fall out, should I bother spending the 200 bucks to get them completely filled again, etc. etc. Very poor customer service skills.
Side note, Garrett (the owner has extremely strange interpersonal skills. The very first time I walked into the salon for my first appointment, he did not look up from the ipad at all and greeted me with «Hi, can I help you?». I found his manner discourteous and off putting.
That being said, it is the Willamette Valley…

Abigail died cut and styled my hair. I went from longer blonde highlighted hair to a big chop and dark natural color. She was able to explain the process and possibilities of how my hair would take and was pleasant and a pro with her tools. The salon is fairly nice size and clean. I wasn’t able to get an apt the day of but booked a week in advance. I received helpful hints and tips about the community (new to the area) and the overall cost was within reason and allowed me to tip nicely. Overall what more could I ask for from a new salon. I’m looking forward to return visits for upkeep :)

I saw Jessica for a women’s haircut: an inch off the bottom with long layers. The someone else in the chair before me, so my cut started about 10 minutes after my scheduled time… I sort of expect this with most appointments so I wasn’t too bothered by it. She cut my hair dry and then curled it. At the end of the appointment she let me go through my hair and make sure everything was right. I found one thing that needed to be fixed and she fixed it without seeming offended. She also said that if I found anything else that needed to be fixed at home, I could come in and she would correct it. I appreciated that. In addition, her prices were reasonable — $ 35 for a women’s cut. So far, I like my haircut and haven’t noticed any issues. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the stylists were talking back and forth quite a bit having their own conversations… I understand that they work together all day and it’s natural to get chatty, but it felt a bit awkward. Overall, I would recommend this salon for a good haircut.

I made a Unilocal account just to write this review. I am new to corvallis and was really excited to read all these great reviews about Garrett and couldn’t wait to call and get and appointment! Well Garrett was the one to answer the phone and has been the rudest person I have encountered since living in oregon.

Garrett is the BEST!!!
I was new in town and had an interview so I needed a hair cut and quick. They were able to get me in the same day. I don’t know if it is like this for everyone, but sometimes it can be REALLY awkward getting your hair done. I find it hard to keep the conversation going, and I absolutely hate the weird silence that can happen sometimes. Well, it wasn’t like that at all with Garrett; he was so friendly and kept the conversation engaging.
Also, my hair is short and not everyone can cut your hair super short and yet still leave you looking feminine. Garrett did a great job and charged me according to a short style.
Garrett also sent me with some good karma for my interview as he had a track record of 49 out of 50 of his customers getting the job that they were interviewing for. Needless to say, I made that 50 out of 51 :).
While I tend to maintain my own hair for several months before going in for another cut, I will be back to Suite 101 again. :)

Jill is awesome. I tried a couple of hair salons in corvallis but i didnt like their haircut. My last haircut was terrible. I asked about a good hair salon and stylist and my friend recommended jill for me. I went there today and i am so happy and satisfied by my new hair, she is nice and very professional. She cut my hair the way i wanted exactly !! Definitely i will go back again

Super impressed with my appointment today. If your looking for color, especially ombré go to Abigail, she’s knows what she’s doing and will make sure you leave happy. I got my ombré touched, a trim and my roots darkened and she did a great job. First time I’ve been there and totally on a whim and couldn’t have been happier with this choice. Love the atmosphere and the price for what I got was more than reasonable. Love.

Just moved here from CA and wanted to find the best salon and stylist in Corvallis, I think I did… Salon 101 and Garrett the owner are awesome! He was very professional and listened to what I wanted and did an amazing job on cut and color. I strongly recommend him if you are new to the area or looking for a new salon.

Jill cut my hair today and this is the best haircut I have had in a long time! The experience was great as well… definitely worth every penny.

If you live in the Corvallis area and want an amazing mani/​pedi, then you need to see Stacey! My nails always looked fantastic, and I’ll admit it… I loved all the compliments I got after a manicure.
