The ambience is great, the drinks are creative and yummy. The Purple Haze is amazing, hot chocolate smooth and the wild berry smoothie is very flavorful. The only exception was that the Authentic Chai was not as flavorful as we have had before.

Wonderful and Friendly staff. Chalkboard menus with the BEST options. Coffee drinks for any coffee lover. The honey avocado smoothie was dreamy. And the Bagel Sammy with egg, and Pepper jack cheese was loaded with goodness. Such a quaint and lovely spot we came across. Pay it a visit!

I have been here a few times and usually the service is better. The girls behind the counter said my gift card had a zero balance even though I know it had $ 10. The girl working the register didn’t seem to know answers to questions like, «do chips come with the sandwich?» Also, they were out of bagels. Zero bagels!!!

This is a cozy little place that serves a nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Their espresso drinks are truly great! I had the Sharks Tooth, with mocha, and coconut! So delicious. We were going to take our food to go, but the ambience and friendly staff reeled us in!

It was our first time in Cortez and my boyfriend’s friend recommended this coffee shop. Since I am a huge coffee drinker, my boyfriend really wanted to take me here. I definitely have to say that I love their coffee. A big plus was the staff is very friendly and welcomed us with a smile. We loved the coffee so much that we went every morning for coffee before heading up to Mesa Verde. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends when come into town.

This place is literally the best coffee shop on the planet. Scratch that. It is the best independently run business on the planet. Maybe the entire galaxy. Science might have to weigh in on that one. Try the breakfast club and their Guatemala coffee. Then proceed to conquer the world.

Great place to stop for breakfast! Absolutely adorable with friendly staff and great food! I got the chiliquiles on a chilly day and couldn’t be happier. Would definitely come again next time we drive through Cortez. Don’t miss it!

Cute little coffee shop. I got a mixed berry smoothie which was good. It was a little pricey for a basic smoothie. Wifi was good. Music a little too loud for studying/​chatting with friends. Main complaint is limited hours. Overall enjoyed my limited time there

My mom and I needed some caffeine in the morning so we decided to give Spruce Tree a try. The house is adorable and there is plenty of seating inside. I was surprised that they serve breakfast too! There was a great selection of breakfast burritos and other hearty items like breakfast scrambles and sandwiches.
As you walk in you are greeted by a large, colorful sign displaying the fun, sugary drinks. I’m not going to lie I was tempted to order one of these but the sugar high would have been too much. We both ordered cappuccinos and my mom got a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese (all for around $ 10).
Cappuccinos were good and the bagel was a big one, with a healthy serving of cream cheese served on top. I’d definitely hit this place up again if I’m in the area; they have so many delicious sounding options!

Cute place, good chai latte. It took 20+ minutes to get 2 bagel sandwiches, they messed up both orders and the bacon on one reminded me on Burger King bacon.

The good:
1. Open early. 6am M-​F. 7am weekends.
2. Lots of room inside. Much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.
3. Covered outdoor patio seating around back far away from noisy street.
4. Very good quality coffee beans and food.
5. Girl working in the morning was very friendly and accommodating. Wife can’t have dairy so she offered to add veggies
The needs to be improved
1. Prices are high, especially for specialty drinks.

Stopped here on our drive from Las Vegas to Denver and its a super cute place. The gals behind the counter were so friendly and patient while my sister and I decided what we wanted.
We grabbed coffee and breakfast to go before we got back on the road and it was such a better choice over the well-​known chain down the street! The food was delicious and warm and the coffee was hot and strong!
Thanks so much for a great quick meal before we got back on the road! We’ll definitely be back!

Really nice surprise this morning when I wanted coffee and some breakfast. The menu is limited to bagel egg sandwiches and breakfast burritos. But they are really creative with those things. Good bagel with eggs and vegetables and cheese. My coffee was really good and I’m picky, The staff is courteous and clean and bright sitting area. I’ll be back when it’s warm enough to sit outside. Maybe 5 stars is too
much but the fact is there’s not much in Cortez.

Excellent service and a pace that makes you feel right at home. We got our drinks, sat and enjoyed and then later casually walked up to the counter to pay when the rush had passed.
We got the Undertow (a double shot with half and half and sweetener – recommend it!) and the Mexican Mocha minus the Espresso to make a rockin’ hot chocolate!
