Good-N-Crisp Chicken

Very dirty inside!
Food was decent — a little pricey.
They were out of ketchup, amazing.
Not many choices around but I would keep driving.

It looks like a hole in the wall because it is but don’t let that fool you, the chicken is well worth the very long wait. We took ours to go because the inside is small and not very pleasant. The staff is not friendly and they are very unorganized. But the chicken in my opinion was worth the wait and unpleasant staff.

The fried chicken and seafood are awesome. One of the best tasting fried chicken I ever had. The shrimp and fish tasted very fresh.

If I could give it a negative one I would. My first experience coming to this place was the worst customer experience I’ve ever experience after being in this industry for over 10 years. I left and didn’t even bother to get my good. Why, should I pay disrespectful personnel? I even called the manager immediately and I highly doubt anything will be done. Place seems extremely unprofessional!

Awesome service and food. The amount of food they give you is unbelievable. Everything I’ve tried has been really awesome.

Found hair in the biscuits and the chicken. My daughter mentioned they were not wearing hair nets. Called to tell them to wear them because we found hair in our food. The girl who answered said «ok, thank you» and hung up. Not even an apology. Will not go back.

Awesomely delicious fast food! The fried chicken is a standout — no wonder it has won awards. Also love the crispy fish and shrimp baskets. Try them sprinkled with their hot spice mixture. The red beans and rice is delicious, oniony tartar sauce is very good, and hot fresh biscuits with honey melt in your mouth. Hot wings (buffalo, lemon pepper, Frank’s XHot sauce) are also very popular. We are addicted and working our way through the extensive menu which includes desserts (pies, cobbler, brownies, ice cream.) The staff have been consistently cheerful, friendly & helpful. Pleasant experience all around. Highly Recommended!

Just tried the chicken, biscuits, and green beans tonight. The chicken was good. We had take-​out and it was still warm when we arrived at the hotel about 10 minutes later. The green beans however were very bland. I like food fairly seasoned. I would definitely like to try other things on the menu. They have a good selection of desserts, seafood, and side items. I wish we had this place in Houston.

Food is really good, truly crispy.
But counter service sucks. If you plan to eat in prepare to wait awhile as drive thru get served 1^st no matter what.
But once you take the first bite you will for about the dumb counter girls

This review is based on multiple visits over the past year. I don’t mind the food here it’s decent and is up to par with all fast food restaurants. But, what I do mind is how rude and uncoordinated the staff is. I’m not sure who owns this place but I’m surprised the business is still standing. The staff acts seems irritated to take your order and serve your food they would rather gossip and play pranks on each other under lack of supervision then serve the business that gives them a paycheck. If perhaps something is wrong with the order, which it almost always is, you are sure to get an eye roll and a sigh of disgust. Although I think the recipes are good, I can no longer tolerate rude people they employe.

Place is heading in the wrong direction quickly! Tenders becoming kid size nuggets. Used to have the best sweet tea now it’s bland and watered down

Chicken was crispy and delicious. The red beans and rice were to die for. A great dining experience.

I get it, After a long day on the beach and you want the kids to have a full belly and fall asleep in the car on the drive home. What a better place to go than a place that specializes in fried carbs to fill the juvenile gastric void?. However this place really fell short.
I had simply a 4 piece chicken tender meal with fried okra, fries and a biscuit. Sadly the only redeeming quality was the biscuit. Food was bland but hot and and prepared quickly. Nothing at all really stood out. All I got was a deep fried order of meh.

Should have known better than to eat on the island but did so because hotel was near by. Chicken was way overcooked, the thigh meat was dry which I have to say was a first for me. The corn on the cob was water logged and the potatoe salad was meh. The «ambience» not much better with some crap Beyonce music playing so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. Better off taking the drive to CC and eating somewhere there.

Slowest «fast food» service of life! Took 30 minutes for my friend to get a chicken salad sandwich bc they totally forgot her order. But the food was good, except the lemon pepper wings, they were so freakin salty

was in there today (9−1−13) and bought family meal of chicken tenders with extra side of corn nuggets. Got down to the beach and the corn nuggets were missing. later in the day stopped back buy to get a couple bags of ice and mentioned to the girl at the counter about missing the nuggets and she said there is nothing they can do about it. I spend about $ 150 a year at this store (whenever we come to beach we stop there), but now am considering getting our «beach chicken» a little further up the road before we get here. Too bad, if the owner empowered the employees to make a simple decision to provide customer service they would not be losing my biz.

Don’t judge this place by it’s outward appearance

They really do have the best tenders. We always grab a family kit when we hit Mustang Island. Always double check your order. They gave us two gravys instead of a mash potatoes.

We love Good-​N-​Crispy! We’re regulars here simply because the food is delicious. We always order way too much, because we can never decide what we want. They have a drive through and it’s in a super convenient location for us. It’s one of our go-​to places when we need food for a lot of people too, because it’s easy, quick and reasonably priced. Soooo much better than any other fried chicken chain!

This location has the BEST chicken tenders, livers, and okra that I’ve ever had. My love affair with Good n Crisp began as a long distance relationship. I lived in San Diego. CA, and would visit my parents who live in Corpus Christi a couple of times a year.
On one visit they went to get fried chicken and I ordered the chicken strips and fried okra. I was amazed. It was better than any chicken strip I had ever eaten. Better than any in California, Texas, Louisiana, etc.
The okra had a good, firm, fresh, texture that is very hard to find.
On my next visit I brought my girlfriend with me. She ordered the chicken livers and they were amazing. Perfect.
Then every time that I would go to Corpus to visit my parents the FIRST place I wanted to go was Good n Crisp.
I’ve since moved to Houston and visit Corpus more regularly. I go to Good n Crisp as soon as I get there and on my way back to Houston I stop by and grab a bunch to take back with me to share with friends.
They have always been amazing. Every time, without exception.
If they sold shirts I would buy one and wear it proudly.
