I love Stretch’s b/c the food is always good, the menu is diverse and it’s locally owned — it’s an island(and local) favorite. But why the 4 stars and not 5? Service. Service has gone downhill the past few years. They used to be super nice and delightful and nowadays they seem indifferent and annoyed but not the endearing indifferent and annoyed, we’re paying for this service like some campy diner… or like when Stretch was still alive :) We went twice over the 4th of July holiday and yes, the lines were long and visitors were many, but the staff was borderline rude and they had a ridiculous«no changes to the menu» policy — nada, zip. But regardless, the food always delivers!

The NADODEAL is genius. Everything you want in a breakfast — your eggs, your carbs, and breakfast meat. And the french toast has fruit all up in it, more fabulous than you’d expect from this little shop with plastic utensils… Mango smoothie was meh. not very mangoy unfortunately. Staff isn’t very friendly but this place makes for a pretty fast, easy, inexpensive meal.

Was in Coronado Friday morning, went swimming, then had a craving for a breakfast burrito. I Unilocaled on my phone, and this place came up. Delicious cheesy eggy potatoey burrito with guac and sour cream on the side, and a tasty little salsa with peanuts of all things in it. Absolutely made my morning.

Wanted something inexpensive and fast for lunch. I know, so unique, right? Stretch’s didn’t disappoint! Small but fast and delicious. The menu is more than just your average deli but has all the favorites. Ok, I went boring and ordered egg salad and minestrone soup. It was exactly what I expected it to be! Which is no small feat when you eat at so many terrible places. I would eat here again, perhaps to try their bacon burrito, which they keep a total of how many are sold on the side of the drink cooler.

I’ve heard about this place since before I was born. My mom and her cousin used to get lentil burgers and give my older siblings 1 bite each. Apparently they were bitter about this, since I heard about it for 21 years. The problem was, my mom couldn’t remember the name Stretch’s… Fast forward to today, when I finally got to try the esteemed lentil burger. And it was AMAZING. Seriously, one of the greatest things I’ve ever consumed. Perfectly seasoned, paired with a generous helping of avocado and sprouts… it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My mom and sister each ordered one and we were all equally satisfied. I almost took 1 star off for their blah staff, dirty bathroom, and need of a remodel. But I easily overlooked those points once I tasted some lentils. I’m going back the first chance I get.

Stayed in San Clemente and this place was worth the drive back down to Coronado for another day at the beach and their amazing sandwiches! They know how to make an awesome egg salad sandwich! Their salads are amazing, too.

Great little café with healthy options on the menu. The lentil burger is very tasty with sprouts, bacon, cheese and avocado. Berry Basil salad is a winner and filling even if it sounds light. Location is central and easy to get to if you’re coming back from a day at the beach. Street parking wasn’t an issue on a Sunday late afternoon. The only problem I had was that out of the 2 people working here, the woman was border line rude. She wasn’t outright bad, but just on the line of making the customer feel like you’re putting her out for being in the restaurant. She was setting up an 8 top for the next day when our party of 6 walked in. We were the only people in the place. Instead of letting us sit at the table she was setting up, she asked us to sit elsewhere because it was slow and she was prepping for the next day. REally? Sheesh… you’ve got coffee cups, napkins and silverware. Do you really need to set that stuff up 1 hour before the restaurant closes and tell a customer to sit somewhere else? Instead of bringing the food to our table, she’d holler out the plate of food that just came up. So it was like, «BERRYSALAD! BERRYSALADDDD!!» Maybe she should have written down our names on the order. I don’t know but it just seemed kinda random and not polished. I’d come back for the convenience and the tasty food. But I won’t be tipping more than 15% if the service continues like this.

We were looking for a healthier joint cause being on the road for 6 days and eating Denny’s and burgers was finally getting to me. This place hit the spot. The have smoothies, salads, soups, wraps, yogurt, etc. Not the BEST wraps but very good to say the least. They have various options, are reasonably priced and the guy ringing me up was knowledgeable about the menu and chock full of suggestions since I was on the fence. The brownies on the counter looked so good I had to try one and I wish I would have gotten two since it was delicious! It was fresh and moist and I had to share it with my boyfriend who claimed he was trying to cut back on his sugar intake, but he ate most of it. Tip: I didn’t try it this time, but they do have a yogurt happy hour M-F from 3 – 4 pm where all the yogurt is ½ price.

I used to love this place, and ate here almost daily on my annual vacations in Coronado. Now, however, the owners have changed and the place has been redone, and while the new décor looks cute, the staff is rude and the food isn’t prepared with the quality that it used to be made with. It’s gotten to the point where when I walk in, I’m completely overwhelmed with the amount of dirt, spilled food, and unidentifiable sticky messes lying around. It’s like the place hasn’t been cleaned in days. The fact that you can see them cooking your food also gave me some insight to the fact that they reuse pans, blenders, and cooking utensils without washing them. I adore the menu, but I no longer adore the café due to it’s unsanitary conditions and totally rude staff. Also, I ordered my old favorite — a blueberry smoothie. They made it in a blender that had just been used for a strawberry smoothie without washing it or even bothering to dump the remains of the previous smoothie out. They proceeded to blend my smoothie for a whopping 20 seconds, and handed me what looked like a blue and pink swirl of barely blended fruit. I was disappointed to say the least.
