My husband and I happened upon this place while on vacation on Coronado Island in CA. I didn’t expect to like this place seeing I don’t typically care for pizza but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had a white pizza with broccoli, tomatoes and cheese. It was really well made and it was tasty. The environment was a bit loud but to be expected for the area. The person who took our order obviously didn’t hear my husband say his name because they were calling for Molly for awhile before anyone realized that Molly’s order was actually Mark’s order(to be fair to the staff, my husband has a very soft speaking voice). LOL We had to wait a little longer than usual because of the mix up but everyone, including me and my husband, got a good laugh out of it. They might remember the incident if they read this review and start to laugh all over again. This place is pretty casual and not the best place if your looking for somewhere quiet. Check it out you won’t be disappointed.

This is a choose at the counter what you want type pizza place. A lot of these seem to be popping up. Think subway only higher quality. It’s a good concept this way everyone gets what they want. We got a #6(broccoli, tomato, ricotta) & #3(Brussel sprouts, Caramelized onion, garlic, bacon) both were delicious. I still prefer my favorite pizza places in town but this was a great meal.

By far best pizza around Coronado. Kinda laughed at the 1 star review… It’s ridiculous. Always good service; the pizzas are just so good.

First off, let me say that I was very surprised to see that this place is under new ownership. I visited this place a while back, wasn’t too impressed with the service then, but that’s a different story now. I met, and chatted a little with the new owner, and I WILDEFINITELYVISITTHISPLACEAGAIN! Not only was the pizza better than I remembered it from before, but the service is awesome! They have an awesome vibe here now! They have drinks, great pizza and smiles all around. Works for me. I also love how the pizza DOESNOT leave you feeling bloated… like a gut-bomb. All around, i’d say that our community just added a ‘secret gem’ to our ranks. I love Coronado! Go check this place out! If you want pizza, and are in the area, definitely make this your spot. You will not regret it.

Nice place, people, and atmosphere. Got the buffalo pizza it and it was very good. And compared to other places here, prices are very reasonable! Highly recommend it.

Clean your ovens! Coffee grounds and mud? The pizza tastes just fine, but the entire bottom was covered with burnt cornmeal? My hands were covered in tiny, black dots that made me look like I just got out of my garden. There were big chunks of black burnt pieces on the bottom of my pie and some even on the toppings. My pizza was impossible to eat without ended up covered in what looks like coffee grounds. Literally the least appealing pizza and least satisfying pizza I’ve ever eaten. Seriously, unprofessional. Clean your ovens.

Service subpar, pizza preparation subpar, ingredients look good, portion more tham adequate. Went there Sunday night around 8:30pm to order a single 5 topping pizza for takeout. Upon arrival, one employee saw there was me and another customer who arrived around the same time. The other customer graciously allowed me to go first because she didn’t know what she wanted yet. So I moved ahead in line. Despite this, the employee ignored me and tried to take the other customer’s order first. STRIKEONE. The employee quickly realized that the customer behind me in line was not yet ready and proceeded to turn her attention to a co-worker for a bit, then eventually came back to me. She was friendly and asked what I wanted. I chose the 5 choice. Not knowing what how the ordering works, I was left guessing and asking questions during the selection process. She did not offer to suggest anything. She wrote down the items I requested(she did not place the toppings on in front of me), I paid, and was left to wait. I waited patiently in the outdoor section for almost 15 min. When I walked back in, I saw that my pizza hadn’t even been put in the oven. Not only that, whoever handled the toppings was not careful to avoid putting too much. It looked like a mountain of ingredients hastily scattered towards the center. Upon seeing me, an employee told another to put the pie, that was just sitting on the orep counter unattended, in the oven. No apology for the wait, no acknowledgement of the delay. Thr staff acted as if I wasn’t even there. STRIKETWO. I went back to the outdoor section, waiting to be called over the speaker or in person. Another 15 min went by so I wemt back in. To my surprise. The oven was off/dark and my pizza was already in a box just sitting on the counter while the staff were chatting about something several feet away. Apparently, nobody bothered to call me to let me know the pizza was ready amd I don’t know how many minutes it wss just sitting there. Upon seeing me, an employee handed me the pizza box. Again, no acknowledgement of delay or apology for not calling me. STRIKETHREE. I open the box 5 min later to find a totally undercooked pizza. Cheese not fully melted, tomatoes still cold, and way too much red sauce spilling all over and making the crust soggy. While the ingredients looked fresh, they looked almost the same prior to outting in the oven. The onions were still pure white/raw. Consequently, the undercooked and over-topped pizza was terrible. Terrible service is one thing, but a cold, undercooked pizza is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I think think the lackadaisical attitude of the staff also translates to the quality of the pizza. The gals behind the counter appear to be more concerned about talking amongst themselves rather than their customers or quality of pizza. Whoever took my pizza out of the oven and out into the box should have easily seen it was undercooked, yet that person still let it go out the door that way. No pride in the quality of food whatsoever. STRIKEFOUR. Hope this review is a wake up call to management to institute some changes. The biggest change needed is get the staff care about tinely service and quality of food. They should not overload a think crist pizza, the quantity of toppings should balance the crust so it comes out of the oven properly. If undercooked or the crust is burnt while toppings undercooked, then you unfortunately have to start all over instead of giving the customer a subpar product. Worst $ 10 pizza I’ve had in a LONG time. Disappointed.

I love this place! Buffalo chicken pizza is amazing. The staff is super friendly and professional. They have gluten free crust available and their prices are reasonable.

Pizza was awesome but the location/facility could use an upgrade. Staff was friendly but tables were sticky and it wasn’t crowded. The shared bathroom on the back patio was a little weird. Several businesses share. Someone knocked and I acknowledged… then a minute later someone knocked again so this time I was less pleasant but it was 2 different people who knocked. :/at least thats what the old lady said when I came out!

Great prices for the size of a freshly made thin crust pizza. We enjoy going here to pick up pizza to go after visiting the park with our kids. The salad was ok but the pizza is definitely worth the return. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza so far and am returning to try more soon!

Wow, just happened to stop in with the family on a trip to Coronado and was blown away by the quality of the pizza. Artisan pizza is hit or miss usually, sometimes being overcooked or burnt. I am not sure how they do the crust here, but it is amazing. My kids(ages 2,4) devoured their cheese pizza, and did not talk for a solid 5 minutes! I was skeptical about Brussels sprouts and bacon being on the same pizza. bug it is one of the best I ever had. I highly reccomend this spot in Coronado.

Thanks to the patient staff, I figured out what we were about to enjoy. This place is like Pieology for NorCal folks. Kind of like a Chipotle, but for pizza. Fire & Fly has a set menu, but you can create your own pizza; however, unlike Pieology, they’ve broken down costs depending on how many toppings you want. They do make calzones and dessert pies(smores, cinnamon sugar, etc), too. You can tell it’s a local spot, but come in and enjoy for a quick bite or for takeout back to your hotel room without spending tons of money. Try it just to say ya did. You’ll like it!

Basic rule of customer service: if you have posted hours, stay open those hours. Next rule: if a customer walks in a minute prior to an arbitrarily(by the staff) decided closing time, don’t just say we are closed when there are 3 tables sitting there, and you still have pizzas in the oven. Super insulting. Used to come here often– don’t think I’ll be back.

Prices are very reasonable!!! Pies are your typical franchise piology greatness! Needless to say that they are good! Maybe this is because i am a pizza monster butthis also speaks to me knowing what i like in a pizza! Their garlic bread is cheap and good! They don’t have root beer which not good for a pizza place but their pizza out weigh that con!

Saturday March 5, 7pm. Me and my girlfriend stand at the counter ready to order. We wait and wait. And wait. There are at least 6 female staff outright ignoring us. Won’t look at us. One of them is looking down literally two feet in front of us ignoring us. She sneezes on her arm. Then goes back to putting toppings on a pizza but still ignores us. After about 7 minutes of just standing there being ignored we took the not so subtle hint and left. To ownership: is this a real business? Are you actually trying to make money or is this just a tax shell? If you are trying to run a business you’ve hired a bunch of girls who clearly don’t need their jobs and could care less about your business. I’ve never experienced such a ridiculous experience. 7 girls all ignoring me and my girlfriend while chatting with each other. And sneezing around the food then continuing on like nothing happened after wiping her nose on her arm? This is a clown show. Update: noticed another review about employees blowing their nose while making pizza. Calling county health department! This place should be called booger + flies

First time here. Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon in late January. I got the buffalo chicken, my wife got the cheese pizza. With two sodas it came to $ 22. The pizza was tasty and arrived in about 10 mins. The staff was friendly and brought our pizza to the rear outside dining area. I recommend this place for a quick bite to eat. I’d build my own pizza next time. Many options available. Not that far from the beach(15 minute walk)

I came here on a date with my boyfriend, and i must say, i was thoroughly impressed. The staff greeted us promptly, and were very attentive in addressing our needs. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and a «create your own» personal pizza. At the price of 7.95 each, you would think that these would be small pizzas, but they proved to be plenty of food. At 11″ each, these pizzas were among the most cost effective purchase I’ve ever made. The pizzas were incredible! The buffalo chicken pizza was especially delicious, and the pizza i created was also really good too! We ended up spending less than 20 dollars and left with extra food.
