I last ate here 30 years ago and had such great memory of my meal. I am sorry I returned. the limp wilted Caesar salad and small portion of mediocre pasta was so disappointing. Even the cannoli was below average. I will not return.

I dont know what has happened to this resturant. It USED to be a favorite. Nothing was pleasant this time. resturant week here is a joke. The seafood cake was sitting in a pile of sauce that tasted like it came from a can(the one served at wild fish is 100% crab is to die for and only $ 13 at happy hour) The lamb was dry and over cooked. The vegetables mediocre. The tiramasu was average. The Pino Grigio was very nice for $ 6.00(but only if you get the pre-fix restaurant menu) Even the waitress was in to much of a hurry… as the chef must have been as well. I will not be going back.

My wife and I came for Dine Newport for lunch. We really enjoy sitting in the main dinning room at a window seat. The ambiance of the restaurant was old world elegance. The service was excellent. Our server was Starla, we will ask for her again. We both enjoyed the fettuccine Romano and Garlic bread as an appetizer, it was one of the best we haver had with the homemade paste. Make sure to get an order of the garlic bread! We both had the Caesar salad for our next course, very good and the dressing seemed homemade. My wife ordered for her entrée the Meatballs and Linguine and it was incredibly. I order the Pollo Parmesan with fresh vegetables, exceptional. We ordered wine, I the Pinot Grigio and my wife the Chianti, both were very good. For dessert we had homemade cannoli and it was fabulous. Overall we both thought this restaurant offered an exceptional dining experience.

Went to Rothcschilds for Dine Newport Restaurant Week and had a wonderful experience. The service was superb and the food delicious, I mean«homemade pasta» So yummy, it’s going to be hard to eat boxed again. The fettuccine romanoff was so flavorful(had as appetizer) and my linguini and meatballs was by far the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to go back again

I came here for a dinner party last month. We were given a private room downstairs, which was great. Our server was amazing, I wish I remembered her name because she is what made this dinner party enjoyable. Overall, the food here was underwhelming to me. Although it is an Italian restaurant, nothing about this restaurant felt like«fine Italian dining» to me. I grew up on Italian food and have traveled to Italy many, many times growing up. Our party shared the crispy ravioli, seafood cakes, and fries. The crispy ravioli tasted off; not sure if it was the fryer or if it was old but the crispy ravioli tasted very dry and kind of stale. The seafood cakes were underwhelming and lacked flavor. The fries were nothing special– thin, crispy with garlic and Parmesan cheese. I heard they’re known for their garlic bread here. Their garlic bread is pretty good, I’ll give them that. I ordered the filet mignon for my entrée and I must say it was one of the greatest steaks I’ve had. The filet mignon was better than some steakhouses I’ve been to! The meat was tender and melted in my mouth. For dessert, I had the raspberry linzer tart. Boy, was it the best way to end this dinner! I love tart desserts so this was perfect, especially with the almond-cinnamon crust. Overall, I was quite disappointed with the appetizers here. However, my entrée and dessert made up for it. I don’t think I would go out of my way to come here, especially for Italian food. However, if I’m in the area or know someone in he area looking for a delectable piece of steak, I would tell them to check this place out.

Just had company Christmas party here so I got to try a bunch of appetizers and shrimp scampi for main dish. WOW everything was amazingly good. Garlic bread was the best Ive ever had. I stay away from bread in general but I think this is so good I would come back for this. The bruschetta and baked brie were also exceptional. Also the BEST shrimp scampi Ive had, they’re huge with lots of flavor. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food.

Sept. 20, 2015 I arrived at 5pm with my husband and daughter. A young man seated us in the dining room. It was empty. 3 mins later, a woman moved us to a tiny table in the bar as we had no reserv. and they were booked. 30 mins later, a man and his daughter were seated in the dining room with NO reserv. The dining room never filled up while we were there. Why did they discriminate? PS. we’re black. pps. our waiter Raul was wonderful. Food was blah but the garlic bread was amazing!

Happy hour review only! Highly recommend for happy hour. Happy hour items are $ 6 each(5 appetizers and a glass of wine for only $ 38 including tax) I would recommend the seared ahi, calamari, and artichoke hearts. The seared ahi was perfectly cooked with a nice rare middle. The calamari was seasoned well with almost a Cajun seasoning and it was served with a marinara sauce. Last and my favorite was the artichoke hearts. The artichoke hearts were fried with a nice crunchy, light batter along with a side of bleu cheese dipping sauce. Only criticism I have is the dim lighting and old décor. Otherwise, a great spot for happy hour.

Nice romantic place for dinner. Can get little stuffy and at my age I feel like I am dinning with my grandparents, however, the food, wine list and service(most of the time) makes up for it. If you like more quiet location ask for the second floor– less tables and not as noisy. Do wish they had more than one stall in ladies room– for this size of a restaurant especially when you have to wait by the kitchen.
