Worst service ever. Forgot to put our order in then rushed the order and brought us hockey pucks for burgers. Owner said he was sorry. Salad was missing what was supposed to be in it as well as the dressing that came with it. Don’t waste your time!

For OBX this is 5⁄5. First Light is one of the few places that offers sit down breakfast during the off season. We had eggs, bacon, home fries, toast; eggs, home fries, toast; and french toast. French toast was a hit and compliments to the chef on the bacon. We had a picky bacon person in our party. I wanted to try the Corolla Hangover, I just wasn’t hungry enough for it. Wait staff was great, too.

I am only here for the week but ate here three times for breakfast. A few tips go very hungry as they serve you a ton of food, and the best thing is that it is a ton of good food. I had the Big Meaty and it was good all the time I did have it and having it dirty was the best way to have to have it. I was happy everytime we came and Mountain Dew for breakfast great idea.

Best beach breakfast we’ve had in all out 12 years coming to the OBX. Large portions of tasty good and excellent Bloody Marys and excellent service.

We came here for Breakfast while we were staying in the Outer Banks for a friends wedding. We started off with bloody Mary’s, mine was made with Bacon Infused Vodka, which was on point. I ordered the smothered and covered breakfast scramble with a side of wheat toast. All of the food was prepared perfectly. I would highly recommended this place. Very friendly staff! My only complaint is that the coffee wasn’t very good, which is kind of a must for a breakfast restaurant.

Service was good and food was good. It’s a very small place inside and it wasn’t very busy at 8:30am on a Mon morning but it took quite a while to come out. I guess though since it’s the shoulder season and a Mon they don’t have as many people working. The waiter was efficient and chipper but made me feel a bit uncomfortable at times by making it a point to tell me rules they had as in no outside food or drinks(2 toddlers had sippy cups with water) but that he would that slide this time. I know most places have rules like that but this was not a cheap place for breakfast and I wasn’t trying to get out cheap. I think all places should let kids sippy cups«slide». I had a western omelet and I must say it was loaded with tomatoes, onions, peppers, ham and cheese. The potatoes were great. The silver dollar pancakes for kids were good but I think a little pricey for just pancakes. This is the beach though and my daughter said they were good. The waiter didn’t offer to get a drink to go or anything like that but when I asked he did rush to get it for me. I would go back but I think I’d like to try some other places first.

Worth the wait! It was within 15 minutes that we were seated. We ordered and it seemed to take forever, but the Big Meaty and the French toast were absolutely delicious! The service was good!

DELICIOUS. We had a party of 6, they said it would be a 20 min wait, but we only waited about 10 or less. Service was quick, and the food was absolutely delicious. The French toast was incredible!

The food was decent, but not amazing. I ordered the Corolla hangover breakfast and asked to add hollandaise, but was told that I had to get a Benedict dish to get hollandaise because nothing made to order can be added to another dish. I am injured and only have use of one hand so I couldn’t eat a dish that required cutting. My fiancé ordered the crab Benedict with hollandaise on the side since I couldn’t add it to my own dish. The poached eggs were very over cooked and the crab cake was bland. Our waiter sat on his phone and we never got drink refills. It took 35 minutes to get food which wasn’t terrible, but it took another 35 to get the check. We were not impressed and will not be returning.

Meh. We take our breakfast food seriously. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was foul. Big blob of cream gravy with hardly any sausage in it. I only ate one of the 2 biscuits on the plate and I’m not one to leave food on my plate. No amount of sriracha could redeem this mess. The«Scattered» was greasy and disappointing. The menu says it comes with hash browns but they served it with home fries. Undercooked. Our waiter was a douche. Not helpful and would stare blankly when we asked a question. It took forever to get a cup of coffee and when it arrived, it was bland. The bacon was good — that’s the only way I can justify 1 star.

Ate breakfast there preseason so their A team was still learning I guess, wait was long and we had to send back the eggs Benedict cold. I enjoyed the coffee and friendly staff. My eggs were fine. Would like to give them a second chance next time I’m in town.

We first visited here in May 2014 and we loved it so much we came back again this year. We visited here 2x in May 2015, it was great both times! Our 3 kids love this place for Breakfast as do we! Can’t go wrong with any of their breakfast fare. Pancakes great, eggs, bacon, biscuits, awesome food. My son & daughter wanted more bacon, and one of the guys working there made sure they got as much bacon as they wanted. Very nice people! We will be back next time we come down to the OBX for sure!!!

Sunday morning brunch time. Had to wait a bit — but we sat at the bar and shortened that time. Service there was fast and friendly. I had the veggie scramble with wheat toast and a side of bacon. Everything was cooked excellently. Parents had a meat omelet and the #2 seen in the pics. Typical breakfast fare. The bill for the three of us came to $ 40. I’d come here again in the two weeks I’m here at OBX!

We decided to stop and grab a bite to eat here. We didn’t go inside but ate on the deck. We were a party of about 10. Drinks came out slow. Our server joked too much and it became slightly annoying. My husband ordered second but received his order 10 – 15 after everyone got their food. He then asked for it to go because everyone was pretty much done. My tuna sandwich was too fishy and tasted bland. My fries were cold too. The service was not up to par. 1 star.

Breakfast was amazing! I had the XXXL and my wife had the big meaty biscuit. Everything was cooked to perfection. Eggs perfectly over medium, crispy bacon, soft biscuit, ahh, everything was perfect! Thank you again for the amazing food and experience! Manly was our server and he was friendly and kept us entertained.

Went for breakfast… Wasn’t impressed. Coffee wasn’t good. Crab benedict… Eggs had too much vinegar in the water crab cakes were over cooked and the hollandaise sauce wasn’t good. Stick too the basics and it will be solid food.

We stop here every time we vacation on the OBX. The food is always pretty good! I usually get an omelette or short stack and it never disappoints. The service could be improved. Our waiter was good but everyone else was not as accommodating or friendly.

You’re kidding, right? Eating breakfast in a dive bar? Really? Wow…if you like walking into an establishment and sticking to the floor, and sitting at a table with your arms stuck to it, then you’ve come to the right place. Enjoy having flies landing on you and your food? First Light is for you. How about that stale-beer-on-the-floor-frat-house smell? Again… if this is your thing, you will be pleased. I tried this place for breakfast on vacation and could not believe how disgusting it was. I had to shower immeditely when I got back to the rental. It was as though my clothing smelled of vomit. Oh, it was bad. Couldn’t even eat the food after being so grossed out, so I cannot comment on it. Threw the entire order into the garbage and got out of this dump as quickly as possible. Will not be returning and absolutely will not recommend to anyone. The comments saying«best breakfast in OBX» are clearly delusional or the proprietors falsely promoting themselves. «Best breakfast»…that’s completely fictional. Unless of course you’re in Alpha Tao Omega. The hostess was also repugnant. As an alternative I went to another bar-turned-breakfast spot 6 or 7 minutes up the road… I think it was called Corolla Cantina. That place was excellent. They obviously took the time to keep everything clean. Had great food and wonderful service there.
