I saw Borrum’s on the Internet and I knew that my visit to Corinth would not be compete until I went there. First of all I will say this, downtown Corinth MS is worth a visit. Take some time to walk around and take in the sites. The area around the courthouse is especially nice. Which brings me to Borrum’s. It is located directly across the street from the courthouse. If there is one place to get a milkshake in this world get one from Borrum’s. It’s a meal in itself and absolutely delicious! We arrived around 1030 in the morning. There was a few occupied tables. We were served by a less than enthusiastic young woman who told us to sit anywhere we wanted. While you wait for your order take the time to walk around and look at the artifacts in the pharmacy/restaurant. There are Native American, War between the States and Local Corinth history all on display. If your lucky Camille will be there to talk to or visit with. She is a very pleasant, talkative resident of Corinth. An older woman who owns the pharmacy, 3rd generation. She was one of the first female pharmacists in the state and she still practices. A true national treasure! This is a family owned place so don’t be surprised if a toddler greets you at your table. I only had a vanilla malt milkshake and it was unbelievably good. It was a meal in itself and very reasonable priced. I would highly recommend this place to eat or have a milkshake. Take your time to enjoy. No rush here, visit local businesses and soak up the experience. The good: everything The bad: nothing. Even the girl who greeted us. I was on vacation her attitude didn’t detract from our visit. It’s over 1000 miles from where I live but I would defiantly return to Corinth MS on my next road trip and go to Borrum’s to get a Milkshake or try the slug burger.

This place will make you feel like eating at pharmacy store. Old pharmacy store that is. To make it more authentic, order up their awesome collection of milkshake. Turtle is my new favorite milkshake. They also have other more pedestrian milkshakes for those who prefer familiar tastes. This place also serve the famous slug burgers. These burgers essentially taste like hash brown with some meat in it. Not bad, but not exactly the best thing since slice of bread. Thankfully they are dirt cheap. So, use the extra cash to order spicy fries. They are pretty good. Special note, their bathroom is small and there is only one. Also they take only cash.

After all the hype, I was expecting something special. Not special, just burgers and frozen fries, rings, cheese sticks… you get the picture. Worth a visit to experience the Civil War era, continuously operating since 1865, by the same family, pharmacy. Eat somewhere else and stop in for a milkshake or float.
