I’ve come here for lunch and I’ve really liked the food. The lunch special prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of their food. I’ve tried the watermelon ceviche and it was surprisingly filling, refreshing, and a little bit sweet with pieces of watermelon inside. I also had their«quick fix» lunch special which is a soup with two empanadas– this particular day they had sweet potato soup made with coconut milk which was rich and delicious, and creamy corn empanadas which were very tasty as well. Their bread rolls are also good always being served warm and their iced tea is very flavorful. The ambiance is also another reason why I’m giving it five stars– the décor is nice with it’s old signs, dark wood, and accents of red– and although very spacious, it still feels cozy and warm.

Had dinner there the other nights with some coworkers. The grilled meat wad ok but I was a little disappointed by the venue. It looked outdated and the service was slow. I observed some server fighting over something, maybe some service/tip related issues. That was not professional at all. The wine was great.

I went here one time and it was a horrible experience. The air conditioner was broken in July, and if that wasn’t enough they ran out of martini glases?! I had to drink my expensive martini in a wine glass. that was pretty lame. I was pouring sweat like a fountain and my blow out was frizzy mess in the first five minutes. I would have left but I couldn’t because I was with friends. I dont know if I would go back there. Maybe for dinner to try the food, but drinks I would have to think twice about.

2 cardinal rules of a restaurant: Keep the water glasses full and the bread coming. They failed at both. I was here for a suprise retirement lunch party. The service was non existant. They brought out dinner rolls with, get this, ranch dressing. Not butter, ranch dressing in a little butter tin. The food was medicore. AND to top it all off, the air wasn’t working right. We were there over 2 hours. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Ok, for the record, I want to state that i DONOT give a 5 star review unless EVERYTHING is perfect. This is my 3rd visit to Novecento and it differed from the first and 2nd like night to day. How do you figure that my first two visits were mediocre for a group of 4 and 6 and this second visit was awesome for a group of 60? Go figure. Service was incredible(I want to hire Ernesto, our server for whatever business I venture into because he was awesome). The appetizers of quesadilla(this is not a typical argentine food but they made it work just fine), salad of pear, Roquefort and greens, and empanadas was a perfect prelude to the deliciosness that was to follow. My skirt steak was perfection(and I am a damn picky perfectionist). My salad was so good my lips were turning purple(don’t ask, it just makes sense to me). I think the mashed potato was made with real Potatoes! The desert of panqueques de Dulce de leche would have made my mother break out in tears. Perfect.
My wine and water glass were always topped up and the bread basket was always full.
The ambience was super nice and everything was clean and sparkly(including the restroom). Way to go Novecento! You have ascended to my list of definetaly go-to places.

Novecento is one of those places that one can always rely on to be consistent. The food is always good and the customer service usually never fails. I was there on Saturday afternoon for a friend’s baby shower and despite our very large group, the servers were there when you needed them. As usual, the food was good and we were all satisfied with the experience. When our parking meters were close to expiring, the young woman behind the bar was nice enough to give us several dollars in change. So they get an A for customer service. On the other hand, when I went to a Bar Association event at Novecento a few months ago it seemed the restaurant wasn’t sufficiently staffed as there were long lines at the bars and the hors d’œuvres were nowhere to be seen. So, if you’re looking to host a sit-down event like a bridal or baby shower, this is the place to do it!

I stopped by briefly for a friend’s birthday tonight(and a quick happy hour to unwind.) We were able to get a cabana reserved without much trouble, and the liquor from the open bar promised to our party was smooth. The chocolate cake ordered was tasty and rich, and I like that they even put a candle on it! The 90’s dance standards sealed the night with a golden touch. All in all, an awesome happy hour place!

I was going to have a happy hour with coworkers in the patio(outdoors area) on a summer Friday afternoon and was not allowed to get in because I was wearing a t-shirt. Seriously, Novecento? Incredibly stupid policy and extremely rude staff. I’ll never get back there.

I’m thrilled to have this restaurant in my work building. The atmosphere is fun and it is a great space. The outside seating area is awesome for a group happy hour. Try the Novecento Salad, which is skirt steak over mixed greens and french fries thrown on top. Yum!

We took the office out for lunch here for administrative assistant’s day and was glad we did. The food was great. From the provoleta to the chicken and beef empanadas to the steak to the dessert, it was all great. The only blip was that they undercooked my steak and I had to send it back so they could cook it to Medium, but we had a really nice lunch here and I really want to go back. If you’re a chocolate lover you must try their«Todo Chocolate» dessert. MmmmMMM.

This is a good place for lunch. The benches are great for young kids, their comfortable and easy to sit in. The only negative to the benches is that there is enough space for little ones to crawl underneath the table back and forth back and forth back and forth until you realize that you should have called the babysitter!!! Food is good. They are very good at what they do. Good Argentinian food at reasonable prices and decent speedy service. Recommendations: Novecento Salad, Lomito Sandwich and Provoleta

The interior design, for the most part is very nice. It gives me the feeling of a(sort of) classic, turn of the century Buenos Aires restaurant except for the acres of acoustic tile ceiling. It is divided into several dining areas and a bar section. It has a well worn, experienced atmosphere, which, despite the expanse of acoustic tile, can get quite loud. I have eaten here three times and have been under whelmed each time. I have had the meatcentric lomito sandwich which overwhelmed me with under cooked steak sandwiched between bacon and ham, slathered with mayonnaise. It was difficult to keep the sandwich together because there was so much mayo serving as lubricant. The pasta pesto is strangely tasteless as is typical of most Italian dishes served in Latin restaurants. The latest meal was a brunch. The eggs Benedict were served on an un-toasted English muffin with french fries. Classy. It is a great atmosphere that unfortunately the food does not live up to. The wine list is very nice if you are going to order a large grilled piece of beef and you want to massively over pay for typically reasonably priced Argentinian wine.

i struggled bw 3 and 4 stars. its a –ok, and im a fan but not a huge one. so 3 it is. novecento is in a great location, right in central downtown coral gables on alhambra just off ponce. it has plenty of both indoor and very chi outdoor seating. ive been numerous times for lunch and happy hour and have never had a bad experience, but at the same time have never had my socks knocked off. the prices are pretty steep, especially considering its lunch. my grilled chicken with a side of mashed potatoes(had the choice of that or salad or french fries) was $ 15. plus tax and tip– 3 ppl is over 60. that cant be an everyday thing, at least not for me. the service is good and they are very attentive. i love that they leave a water carafe at your table so you dont have to wait around for refills and can just do it yourself. i wish every restaurant did that… maybe now that the weather has cooled down lunch or happy hour in the outdoor terrace is actually do-able.

Great latin inspired food and good atmosphere. Friendly staff + know their mojito’s. I had something ‘de Pollo’ — and highly suggest it. Portions are big and prices for entrée is between $ 15-$ 25.

Food was pretty good, but the service sucked. Went with a big group of people after a meeting, many just mingled, 4 of us got a table and sat down to have dinner. At first things were looking good, water was poured and promptly refilled a few times while we looked over the menu. I already knew what I was going to have based on a recommendation: chicken empanada and a salad. We all put in our orders, they brought over some rolls with a yummy Dijon mustard butter. And we chatted, and chatted, and chatted! In the back of my mind, I was thinking a lot time had passed, it was almost an hour! The waiter came to our table & was very apologetic: he had lost our order! He re-took our order and promised to get it out as soon as possible. Two of us ordered salads, so we said to bring out as soon as possible. About 5 more minutes went by with nothing, we asked for some more rolls(it was past 10 pm and we had to drive back to Broward and Boca!) another 5 mins passed: no food, no rolls, no more water refills, things were definitely going down hill! Instead of being attentive when things went wrong, they were un-attentive! So we then asked for a complimentary round of house wine: NOTHING happened. Then we asked for the manager, another 10 minutes went by, he came by & totally failed, didn’t even ask us anything, just came up & apologized that the order got lost and was taking so long, said it would be out very soon and walked away! Hmmph!!! Didn’t listen to anything we had to say, didn’t offer anything complimentary. Then our food shows up — only appetizers & salads. My empanadas came with a mini green salad which was a smaller version of the salad I ordered — would have been nice to know that??? I cut open the empanadas and they were real hot, so I munched on the salad. I looked up and realized that they did not bring the entrees that were ordered: a burger(medium) and gnocci. How long can it be taking to make this already??? My friend had also ordered an empanadas appetizer and we were so starved by the time the food came, didn’t even realize that she had my chicken ones and I had her spinach and beef ones! They were ok, but I really wished i had the chicken & I wasn’t about to send it back! All meals were finally delivered with many, many apologies from the waiter. We ask for the check and the waitier comes to offer us complimentary desserts, well we want to go home — its after 11pm at this point! So we said no, we wanted a free glass of wine earlier and no one listened! So he brought two of us that still wanted one a glass of wine, which I didn’t even get to finish because we had paid the bill & were ready to go. Oh & the bill came and the wines were on the bill, they had to remove them! UGHHH!!! The only reason that there is 2 stars for the rating is because the mustard truffle vinaigrette that was on my salad gets one whole star to itself! That was YUM, but I would not go back. The lessons to be learned here are: 1. If something goes wrong the server should not ignore the table and 2. When a manager comes to a table to has complained, he actually NEEDS to listen to the complaint! KTHXBAI!

hmmm. So this was a big outing – the co-workers AND the branch management(12 people!) so I knew this would be a nice-looking spot(the better to impress you with, my dear) and Novecento didn’t disappoint. With the high ceilings, heavy wood beams, and expansive space it had an air of… a well-heeled pickup spot for the young corporate climber on the go – or was that just the bar? Yeah, I’m probably still thinking about the tightly packed situation at the refreshingly stocked-to-the-brim fabulous bar just off the entrance. Though the restaurant is large, the bar was an elbow-room repeat violation! After an hour of gamely teetering in my now-slowly-killing-me heels, willing all the restraint I could muster to not clock the next person who just needed to «scoot by», and avoiding the fixed stares of bar patrons about to make their move, the hostess FINALLY came over and seated us(YES!!) We immediately got down to the business of ordering and the parade of food was really something to see: –Calamari Fritos w/sweet chilli salsa –every entrée salad they had(we were hungry!) –Picada Criolla(sampler of a whole lotta grilled meat/meat-related items-no thankie) –Pan-seared Salmon –Shrimp w/Pasta –sauteed spinach(was good just not enough) –sweet potatoes(mmm) — Grilled Flap Steak(this was a popular one – I observed from the sidelines) –A fancy fish dish that looked very tasty(I didn’t get it but he looked pleased) — the dessert sampler(chocolate overload!!) which was amazing Overall not bad at all but not really my type of hype~c’est la vie :)

Novecento opened it’s third Miami location in Coral Gables in the Allen Morris Building. Though it does not have the cool city view like their Brickell location, the atmosphere here is relaxed, the decoration is much more modern and the crowd is less«fru fru» However, it is just as expensive.
