It was lunch time and we were hungry. After passing by a few Cuban spots that we felt like we would be uncomfortable entering, we found Havana Harry’s. There was a major Latin vibe, not so much that we would feel out of place. We were probably a little under dressed if it was dinner, but for lunch we were ok. Our waiter was nice and I think he appreciated that he didn’t have to explain the menu. I would agree that the portions were large and we had food to take home. The mojito was on point! You could taste the good quality rum although maybe it was the ambiance that influence me. The Cuban sandwich was huge and made to perfection. Great find

Ok so did you know Havana Harry’s now offers a diverse menu, they have a added a twist to Cuban food. They offer pastas, fajitas and even fried rice. I wanted to be a little spontaneous and so decided to order the Chiron fried rice. I was impressed I loved it and it came with platanitos. Of course it’s not the typical fried rice but it was still delicious and it exceeded my expectations. They serve so much food I was only able to eat about half which makes this place even more worth the while.

Authentic Cuban food at its best. Great atmosphere and extensive menu. I’ve been many times and have had numerous traditional Cuban dishes that were amazing but today I had the Chicken Fajitas which had anice Cuban flair with Mojo marinade. Prices are extremely reasonable

Thanks to Havana Harry’s for helping me surprise my brother with a great birthday meal; they accommodated my family of 12 for in a great location. We flew in from Alabama directly to the restaurant and the staff greeted us and made sure we were ready to pull off the surprise so thanks so much. The food and service was 5 star caliber IMO, living in Bama I don’t get much Cuban cuisine so when they brought me my Vaca Frita my mouth was watering. It was a huge portion but most important it was delicious. And no complaints from the rest of my family we had anything from fish to a cheeseburger so thanks again to the staff for making it truly special.

The food is great but the wait to receive the food is always way too long. I’ve been here now for nearly an hour & still no food, yet everyone around me is getting theirs. Never coming back. Great food, horrible service… and its a pity because we really enjoy dining there

Delicious pallamino steak. The best mojitos!!! Loved the yucca and the beans and rice. Plantains were also good. Recommended!

The largest portions I have ever encountered at any restaurant in my life(not like Cheesecake Factory big, like clown car big). I had heard only good things about the food, but on this night, despite the gigantic portions, it was lacking. The food was not bad, just not that great. I suspect they were so packed that the quality suffered as a result. The strange thing was, when we ate the leftovers, we thought it was really good. The service, especially the host who took our name, was excellent. Overall, although the food was nothing to write home about this night, I would give them another chance based on all the other excellent Unilocal reviews and the awe-inspiring/obesity epidemic causing portion sizes.

Great place! We entered the restaurant at about 8 p.m. and it was packed. Luckily we found two stools at the bar. The Bartender, Harold, was right on point; even though the bar was jammed and the servers needed bar service, he never let us feel ignored. We ordered a glass of wine and a Corona(sorry Craft Beer Lovers there is none of that, but they do offer full liquor). We went for two appetizers, Tostones Guayaberos and Mariquitas Olé… The Tostones were cooked perfectly and topped with tender shredded pork and a guava bbq sauce(normally served with grilled onion, we opted out). The sauce was AMAZING, the only negative(which is so minor), is that the sauce shouldn’t be served cold… we asked for an extra side of sauce and they zapped it for us without question. The Mariquitas were crisp and served with a chorizo cheese sauce… REALLY, REALLYGOOD… Dessert…Coconut Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream… I must say that I am not a huge coconut fan, but this came highly recommended; moist bread, toasted coconut and rum sauce. For a guy that isn’t a coconut fan… I’d order it again… enough said. As a side note, this restaurant is in the heart of Coral Gables, and it is a Cuban restaurant. As a full fledged Gringo, I wasn’t made to feel uncomfortable as I have in other restaurants in the past. Very much appreciated…

I’ve been here once before and had a blast. This was my first time for brunch and it was pleasant. We started out with some coffee, fresh and fast. Ordered the mojito chicken and sea food platter. The chicken was moist and delicious but I couldn’t finish it, it was half a chicken. The sea food platter included oysters, calamari, salad, shrimp and some crab cakes. Besides the food being exquisite the staff is awesome too! We had more than one waiter and even one of the owners coming back and forth to our table! Customer service is great here!

Authentic, yummy Cuban food. Better than the larger chain Cuban restaurants. I really like the Tostones appetizer with Lechoncita & avocado on top. My Vaca Frita and arroz con pollo were perfection and the best was the desert. This is one of my go-to places for take out. Portions are so generous that sometimes I can order one dish for 2 people. The only reason I am taking away a star is because they need to get their take out orders more organized. I order take out a lot and half the times when I go to pickup my food, they lost my order, or it was not prepared so I have to wait 15 minutes for them to put it together. On two occasions I went home with my order and it was missing the rice. So inconvenient… Other than that, food, portions and prices are good.

I love this place! You can come and have anything from lechon(Cuban-style pork) with rice and beans to fajitas. It really doesn’t matter what you order, rest assure whatever they serve you will be delicious. I have been coming here for a long time, it’s in the Gables across the Merrick Park Shopping Center. It’s a white house decorated Spanish style and there is free parking on either side of the restaurant. The menu offers a variety of Cuban and international dishes and the portions are VERY generous. My favorites are the vaca frita(shredded beef) and the fajitas. For dessert the shakes are excellent, specially the Nutella one. The service is generally good and the staff is nice. I highly recommend you visit it and give it a try.

Delicious Cuban cuisine at an affordable price, with spectacular hospitality. I’ve been here now a handful of times and each time was better than the next. The hospitality has always been nothing more than exceptional. With or without reservations I’ve been quickly or reasonable seated and when dining I’ve always had my utensils, consistent refills and my server and waiter has been attentive to my needs. The restaurant it self is ample enough for several people, elegant yet casual and the restrooms have been on point. I usually love to start with a complimentary basket of bread, nothing like warm cuban bread with butter or a mix of olive oil with balsamic and garlic. Then we go with some«mariquitas» which is fried plantains chips dipped with mojo. One of my favorite dishes are the traditional white rice and black beans with skirt steak. These are not your simple can beans, oh no! These have some saźon to them !!! the taste of complete seasoning which has salt, pepper, parsley, cumin and more with those creamy and flavorful beans is always a must with their delicious puffy white rice. Ahhh and then there was the steak… Otherwise known as churrassco… That amazing chewy and soft steak with garlic and sautéed onions with of course chimichurri sauce is just amazing cooked to you’re preference. I’m also a fan of their vaca frita de pollo. It’s grilled to perfection mixed with garlic and onions, you can pair this with white rice and black means or moro… Go with the moro if you traditionally have the black beans and rice and want something more solid instead of wet. The moro is very tasty and also cooked in seasoning so you can taste it in each spoonful. I like to pair this dish with fresh sliced avocado or sliced tomato. I’m not a big sweet person, but their flan is very creamy and sweet if you have that type of tooth. Me, I’m the coffee guy so OFCOURSE I’m having cuban coffee maybe a double which is simply satisfying.

Good cuban food in Coral Gables, but if I had to be honest, I’ve had better. The food portions here are extreme. 3 people can easily eat from 1 entrée. The food is really good, but service is lacking a bit. Everyone was nice however, they didn’t seem to be in any hurry to ask if I needed my water refilled or if I’d like another glass of wine. Would I come back here? Yes, probably, especially for the flan! But next time I would definitely consider sharing an entrée.

This place is nice and big and has a bar and a bakery inside. My grilled chicken with onions came with 2 sides(Moro & Tostones) and was a large portion; enough for 2 people($ 12.95). Everything was delicious. However, I wasn’t a fan of the fufu. I recommend making a reservation. We walked in at 7pm on a Friday night without a reservation & had to sit at 2 four person tables because there wasn’t room for 8. Service was pretty quick too.

My friend recommended this place for Cuban food and I am so glad I tried it! The food was delicious. — Absolutely loved the Tostones Guayaberos! It smelled so good and was super flavorful! Meat was juicy, sauce was salty and sweet at the same time, yum. — Tres Vacas Fritas was really good as well. Three different kinds of meat and each was delish. — Flan is my favorite dessert and the one here was really good. It’s different from the ones I had before b/c it was covered with caramel instead of ice/coffee. The first bite was really good, but then it got too sweet for me. Texture is so creamy though! Everything I had was so good, and did I mention that the portion was HUGE?! Yes, I got 2 more dinners out of my leftovers, haha. And the price was super affordable too

If you’re in the mood for Cuban food, don’t bother going anywhere else! The food is very good, the portions are huge, and best of all the prices are reasonable! The waiters are very nice and attentive here. It’s a great place to come with a group. I’ve tried the churrasco, the Milanese, the Vaca Frita, the shrimp ceviche, and the avocado salad. No complaints at all, everything is as tasty as it should be!

The Quick: I have been here over 20 times and I live in NYC… this might be an addiction. Best Dish: My first ever 3 dish winner(by category) Appetizer: Tostones Guayaberos: 3 tostones smothered in delicious shredded pork, caramelized onions, and guava sauce(someone needs to bring more Guava to NYC, it’s everywhere in Miami)! This is a huge portion, we usually split between 3 people. Incredible. Entrée:The tres vaca fritta is incredible– we usually just get the pork and beef(exclude chicken) as they are more flavorful. Our family friend from Cuba always says this is one of the most authentic dishes, I’ve gotten it every single time. Dessert: The Quattro Leche… I’m pretty sure this is proof there is a heaven. It is the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had in my life. It’s 4 layers of perfection, one more than your average Cuban ‘Tres Leches’, this dessert has a layer of creamy caramel on top. It’s VERY heavy, we usually split between 3 or 4 people. Additional Details: I’ve been to countless Cuban restaurants, from hole in the walls to fine dining and have never had a better experience than at Havana Harry’s. Everything is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Pro Tip: The portions are HUGE… we’re talking, can’t button your pants have to take a nap afterwards, huge. Consider splitting my recommended menu between 3 people.

Whenever I’m in the mood for Cuban food I usually end up at Havana Harry’s. They recently started opening for breakfast and I’ve become a regular, they have a pretty good menu variety and the plates are big enough to share among 2. I love the scrambled eggs with ham and Swiss cheese, their home potatoes, Cuban toast and café con leche(huge mug.) Sometimes I also get a croqueta de jamon, because well, why not? My favorites at Havana Harry’s for dinner are the lechoncita, milanesa de pollo, vaca frita, Harry’s chicken, and tres vacas(pork, chicken and beef,) all are big enough for two to share. Moros and plantains are my go to side dishes. Their cream of malanga soup is really good, and on certain days they have tamal en cazuela that’s to die for. Dessert menu favorite, the flan, you must try their flan. I ask for the regular flan with added toasted coconut on top, amazing! They also have delicious tres leches, cheesecake, molten chocolate cake, and a bread pudding with coconut and ice cream. Service is good, I’ve never had any issues and I’ve been going for years. So wether it be take out, breakfast or dinner, Havana Harry’s is a good option for Cuban cravings when you’re in the Gables.
