Pretty crappy customer service for a chain. Just go somewhere else, plenty of fast food around.

This Dairy Queen is super busy and the service and food suffer because of it. The staff is always moving around and busy but it doesn’t make it run any smoother. To me they need a better game plan for peak hours or more hands moving faster. Also the food is usually warm not hot. I mean if you have to wait it should at least be fresh right!!! Steak fingers tend to be barely warm and some taste as if they had been just sitting there for a while. I haven’t been back!

I only get ice cream at DQ so keep that in mind when you read my review. DQ offer some of the best treats in town! I usually get mint chocolate chip blizzard. Yesterday I just settled for a chocolate dipped cone. You can get a small or medium size. I thought small was kids size so I got a medium, big mistake! It was so much ice cream! The small would have satisfied me just fine. For around $ 3 a treat, can’t beat that for the summer heat!

Very disappointing, every time i go to this location there is always something broken. Either they can’t take cards only cash, or their ice cream machine is broken… Never going again! If I could I would give it a .5 star !

I’ve been here half a dozen times and they rush their service. I don’t mind my food taking longer if it means it’s cooked properly. I’ve ever only been through the drive thru and almost every time I get home, the fries are mushy and raw. Completely inedible. They serve their blizzards over filling the cup so if you don’t start eating it immediately it will pour over and make a mess. I’ve given them to many chances and it seems no matter when I visit this location, it’s always a bad visit. Plus I’m tired of cleaning my car after every visit.

Very disappointing… they changed their ice to the regular kind. People us to go here just for a bag of ice! The fries have changed too! Instead of the once favs they are now big and fat and under cooked. .ugh! We threw away half of our food. I guess if u want to cut back on the food you eat then this is the place. The burger was not as good either. I would only go here for the ice cream now, because they at least kept it the same. Hey DQ… If it’s not broke… Don’t fix it… or in this case wreck it.

This location has been here forever! The service is always consistent. The food is always good. I have never had any issues with the staff there… and of course I love their blizzards!

Disclosure: I have visited Dairy Queen 20+ times. This review focuses on the Coppell location. Dairy Queen is as fast food restaurant that serves burgers and chicken fried steak sandwiches, but also are known for their desserts. You can get a vanilla shake like Blizzard with any number of toppings. Let me get one thing clear. I DON’T come here for anything but dessert. Their regular food is average at best, but there’s a reason they’re called DAIRY Queen. My Overall Rating — 3 ½ Stars(Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — It’s old, rundown, on the outside as well as inside. It feels as if it was built years ago when there was nothing but farmland around. There’s outdoor seating, but the drive through cuts right in front. This makes it dangerous for small kids. Inside are old booths and tables. I wish they would remodel the place. No Stars. Service — They are friendly. Granted, I only go here for dessert in the early evenings, so I can’t comment on lunch/dinner service. But I can honestly say I’ve had no issues. 1 Star. Food — Again, no food review here. Only desserts because they’re great! Starting with a basic soft serve cone, it’s rich and creamy and you can get it dipped in chocolate! It easily beats any other fast food joint(even Sonic). Of course, their signature dessert is the Blizzard. You can blend just about anything, from Oreos, cheesecake, or my personal favorite — Peanut Butter Cups. Blizzards have a nice creamy texture and feel lighter than traditional blended shakes. You can also get banana splits and premade ice cream cakes. So as far as desserts go, a Blizzard from DQ helps combat the Texas heat. 2 Stars. Will I Return? — Yes but only when I’m jonesin’ for a Blizzard. Sonic and Braums will certainly fill me cheap cold dessert needs, but neither have the DQ Blizzard. It’s still unique enough to warrant a drive out there. If only the owners would realize it’s no longer 1985. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score

If you want to pay $ 5 for a 99¢ McDonald’s chicken sandwich, no fries, no drink, this is your place. The two times I’ve been here I’ve had to wait at the counter for the staff to stop goofing around before they knew I was standing there.

This DQ is messy and disgusting. The drive thru like was wrapped around the building and there were only 3 employees. Once I got my Orange Julius, it tasted like a melted popsicle. Disappointed.

You know Dairy Queens are hard to find, I had to go to my eye Dr’s so I thought I would just stop buy pick up a chicken finger basket and head back to work, but when I got there I got a turkey club panini. Who does that? I’m glad I did it was a good sandwich full of shaved turkey, bacon and swiss cheese. I was pleasantly surprised. I got small fry as well which we hot and tasty, not McDonald’s but still good fries. I would go there again and I would have a panini again, but next time I’ll try some of the old Dairy Queen staples to see if they are like I remembered. The menu is really huge so there is no reason you can’t find something to try and no one can top the blizzards.

The décor was atrocious. Everything in life changes, except the inside of Dairy Queen. Other than that the experience was pretty good. The windows at this location are nice, you get a really open view of the area from any seat. They bring out your order to your table which is kind of weird since it’s fast food, but nice I guess. Another big plus is that each table has a full size ketchup bottle, salt, and pepper shaker. No more dealing with those tiny ass packets. I had the new spicy chicken nuggets, they were decent. Just enough spice but too much breading. No where near as good as the steak fingers though. Also this rating is in relation to this particular location vs other Dairy Queens and or other fast food restaurants. If I ever get to eat at The French Room and I give it 4 stars, I don’t want anyone thinking, oh you think Dairy Queen is just as good.

Drive in very slow.. . Took 20 minutes to get order. There were only two cars in front of us. They need a procedure to have cars clear the lane and wait in another spot if they have an order that takes time to prepare. The hold up was a car that got several burgers that had to be cooked. Once we got committed to the line there was no way to get out of the line. When we did get to the window, there was no appology for the wait and our treats were melted. .. I got a very negative response when I asked for a fresh treat. They need to revise there procedures to keep the line moving. We visit this DQ about twice a month and they are usually pretty good about moving the line along. However, this was about the third time in the last six months we have experienced this issue.

I’m a huge DQ fan and have been since I was probably 3 years old. I love the one by me in Carrollton, and went to this one here in Coppell frequently when I lived in Lewisville. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because of the service when I stopped by last night. This location is open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, whereas the one in Carrollton shuts at 10pm, so I detoured to Coppell on my way home from 2 friends/family barbeques… There was only one car in the drive thru, so I thought I’d go through that way(it later turned out that it was a very good thing I did go through the drive thru because during one of the barbeques I was at during the day… my jeans split on the seam in the back and I HADNOIDEA. Awesome. That’s what I get for wearing old jeans, I guess). Ordered myself a large ice cream in a cup and one for the boyfriend, too. Pulled up and waited for the car ahead of me to get served. And waited. And waited. And waited. I guess what had happened is the car ahead of me ordered a waffle bowl sundae, but DQ had run out of waffle bowls, so they had to make a fresh one. And then the one they handed out had the wrong topping, so that had to do another one. Now, I only know this because I overheard the DQ girl explaining it to the car ahead of me, as she handed out the ice cream. I was in the drive thru for 30 minutes. THIRTY. And I couldn’t pull out and go inside, or just leave, because there is only one tiny lane, unless I want to risk off-roading in my little Golf in the field next to the DQ. I was trapped. Car ahead of me. Now 3 cars behind me, building to my left, and a field to my right(which was blocked by a curb, as well). When I finally get to the window, the girl tells me my total, hands me my ice creams(after a minute or so delay of her looking for lids for the ice creams), and that’s it. No «Sorry for the delay», «Sorry you were sitting in the drive thru for 30 minutes» no explanation as to what the delay was. Nothing. I get it, shit happens. Places run out of food and have to cook fresh, which can take a while with things like waffle bowls. But jesus, have that car pull around and bring it out to them when it’s done. I just had an ice cream. The guy behind me had a Blizzard. We shouldn’t have to wait for 30+ minutes for this. And if we DO, then we should at least get an apology. If it’s a Friday or Saturday night during the summer, it seems your best bet would be to go inside, even if there is only one car in the Drive Thru. Lord knows how long you’ll be trapped there, and no one seems to care…

This is a blizzard review only! With living in the burbs, I’m always on the hunt for the closest DQ for my Cappuccino Health blizzard cravings. This one, off Belt Line and 635-ish, is the closest one to me and is excellent in providing that upside down treat! Quick drive thru, children’s play center, plenty of parking and generally nice service.

Disclaimer: This review is for the cool treats only. The hot eats are a festering scab on the drive through display of every DQ in the nation and should be avoided like the plague. There’s 3 things you can always count on with the old Queen of Dairy: 1) you’re in the middle of nowhere, 2) there will always be a least one fly buzzing around if you decide to eat in, and 3) the Reese’s Blizzard is hands down one of the best ice cream concoctions ever known. I don’t think this frosty treat gets the props it deserves, which is the only reason I’m reviewing a chain of this magnitude. Few things can compare to the joy of my most recent discovery, that of the DOUBLEREESE’S BLIZZARD. There’s enough big chunks of Reese’s mixed with that signature smooth and creamy DQ vanilla ice cream to make almost anyone diabetic. This is my top choice for ice cream, way better than Marble Slab, Cold Stone, Fro Yo, you name it. Not only is this thing just bursting with sugary goodness, it takes me back to a time when DQ was one of my favorite places to visit(now a DQ in a Toys ‘R’ Us would have been something). It would be a mistake to overlook DQ in the grand spectrum of ice cream options. If you can put up with the dirty surroundings or just go drive through, this place is like money in the bank.

update to my last review… I have to say the outside of the building is still kind of dingy but we went inside and it was surprisingly nice. Very clean and the service was great. So drive through or dine in would be fine either way.

We love DQ! But this place was so filthy. There was dried ice cream on everything and chocolate smeared across seats and tables. Grease dripping off tables. Dirty counters. It was bad. We ended up eating in our car. The Blizzards we got were standard DQ fare. Nothing to complain about there, but I was kind of scared to eat it.

Sure its as old as dirt, with small, dirty shops plagued with vermin and down-and-out employees. But nothing tastes as satisfying after 24 hours of hardcore camping by a Texas lake than a DQ blizzard. As the little cubes of cheesecake melted on my tongue in bursts of sugary bliss entwined with strawberry-laced soft serve, I tried to imagine my father working at a DQ as he had as a teen in the late 50’s. When DQs in Ft Worth started closing a few years ago, my dad would drive pass each fallen location with a sigh, as if a small piece of his childhood– of his existence– was fading forever. I’m glad there are still locations around. Don’t forget about DQ if you get an ice cream craving. Sometimes, «fancy» ice creams shops just don’t cut it.
