Bought the 16 piece dinner with veggies for 4 of us. The chicken was so greasy that 3 of us had upset stomachs within just a couple of hours. The corn on the cob was so undercooked that you couldn’t pull it off the cob with your teeth. I threw mine away.(I’ve never had difficulty eating corn on the cob before.) The only part of the meal we enjoyed was the fried okra, which was fantastic. The chicken, not so much… Sorry, guys.

First time trying this Chicken Express last night through the drive thru… Got a family 12 pc combo and also mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. Small order of fried okra and fried pickles on the side. Upon paying I asked for ranch and gravy. The wait was not long at all, but I wish I’d checked my bag, as condiments and utensils went forgotten. It’s not the worst thing that could happen, but I’d just asked for the condiments, and some napkins are really a no-brainer when you’re ordering chicken? Chicken was good, mashed potatoes were alright, but the Mac n cheese is just a little… Idk, bland for my liking. Seemed like the noodles sat there forever. With that aside, I really don’t think I’d made the 5 mile drive back. I’ll probably just try another location instead.

Chicken Express is a guilty pleasure for me. It’s the best fast food chicken I’ve had anywhere. The breading is always crunchy and not too heavy. Their biscuits are flaky, never doughy. The gravy is so comforting. I also appreciate that they have fried livers and gizzards, which you don’t see at a lot of the national chains. If I need something fast and I’m going to eat fried chicken, it’s going to be Chicken Express. Nothing else is worth the calories. My only complaint would be the jalapeño poppers. They are small and the cheese isn’t that great. It doesn’t melt well. Avoid the poppers. Their other sides are good.

Delicious comfort food. Simple. We thoroughly enjoyed the chicken strips, spicy chicken wings, fried pickles, and corn nuggets. The menu provided plenty of tempting choices; the restaurant provided plenty of methods for ordering: drive-in, drive-thru, and dine-in. We’re not entirely sure why we waited so long to finally come eat at our local Chicken Express… but now we’ll probably stop by more frequently than our waistlines would like.

Chicken E, Chicken E, Chicken E. Where do I start?! Really love the chicken tenders, not much of a fan of the fried chicken. The sides are delicious and the fried pickles are off the chain! Glad I found the pickles because I’ve been craving fried pickles ever since Fat Daddy’s took theirs away from us :( Chicken E is great for lunch, dinner or a snack! And they have good crushed ice too!

Hard to say that this is a huge recommendation in my book, but it certainly is fresh… My qualms are simply with the breading has truly marginal flavor compared to other chicken tender locations, and the consistency is very off from location to location. This location tends to have darker tenders than others, and a thinner gravy than most. IDK, its fast food, not high expectations to begin with, but with it being one of few places on my way to work, I don’t mind stopping in.

by far the NICEST chicken express and the BIGGEST. it looks like it use to be a sonic so its got a lot of spaces to order from and the drive thru. this is kinda hidden cause the traditional sign is red and yellow. theirs is mundane brown and stone so i drove past it at first. the only thing that caught my eye was the flag.

Came here with the boo for lunch. Standard chicken express. Service was very fast as our meal was ready in about 2 mins. The wings were a bit on the salty side, but i love salt so it didn’t bother me as much as it did the boo.

This is your typical Chicken Express outlet dressed up in nicer digs… at this location you have a drive-in along with drive-thru service. The restaurant dining room is also a notch above other Chicken Express locations I’ve visited. But the menu here is representative of the chain. They offer up catfish, livers and gizzards along with the normal fried chicken, wings and tenders.(Why don’t they offer combo packs of fish and chicken?) The requisite sides of mashed potatoes/gravy, corn, cole slaw and fries are joined by the CE signature sides such as fried okra, mini-poppers and fried pickles. Since my last visit to CE, they’ve expanded their drink menu to offer smoothies and frozen treats. They still sell iced tea, in both sweetened and unsweetened forms, by the gallon. I wasn’t too impressed with their fried catfish, finding the portions small and overly bland – remedied by liberal dipping into the provided tartare sauce. The chicken also didn’t sit well to me, either coming off as too dry and the batter tasteless to merit seconds. I will still prefer CE to KFC, but in the future, I’ll remember to go for the atypical selections rather than the standards.
