Farm fresh eggs make a big difference in a breakfast. Bear claw had delicious fresh eggs with bright orange yolks that must’ve been fresh. My husband got the big breakfast platter that could feed two or three people. It had pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, sausage patty, eggs, toast, and hash browns. The corn beef hash was very good. A little salty but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Rye toast and over medium eggs made it perfect. Is there coffee was imported from Traverse City. It was very good, bottomless cups and one to go. The couple sitting at the table next to us chatted for a bit. They told us they lived 20 miles from this restaurant and had been here 4 times this week. If we lived closer we would come once a week at least! We will be back!

Great BLT and hamburger. They don’t skimp on the ice cream mixins. Nice outdoor patio. Unusually good food for small town drive up.

Bright and clean family– run restaurant with cute décor, friendly and quick service. We had breakfast and dinner here and it was a great value. Meals came with fresh fruit which was a nice touch. Kids enjoyed large scoops of Superman ice cream. Close to Crystal Mountain. Glad we discovered it!

Stopped at the Bear Claw Café for breakfast on our way home from a stay at Crystal Mountain Resort. Can only say we all wished we had skipped all of the mediocre and pricey breakfasts we had at the resort and come here to eat. The Bear Claw is notably spotless and clean. Service is sharp, friendly and attentive. The plates served were picture perfect, amazingly fresh and clearly made as though the cook was making it for family. We were sorry we didn’t find the Bear Claw before departing, as we would have tried them for lunch AND dinner during our stay.

We were here a few times for ice cream and breakfast. The staff is super nice so no complaints there. Cute setup and décor. Good ice cream. Food is hit or miss. I loved the sausage gravy in the biscuits and gravy. Very hard to find good gravy. They did bring it to us kinda cold though, ick,. We had to have them reheat both of them. Eggs, toast, sausage, and potatoes are fine. The hollandaise on the eggs benedict was off. I could tell even before I tasted it. It should look creamy, not gelatinous. Not good. The custard French toast was just plain French toast with bland custard, not good. Some things need some work but overall it is a solid stop. hopefully they will work out some of the food kinks. I am sure we will stop in again.

AMAZING! I’ve never had just an «okay» meal, everything is beyond my expectations. The owner is the sweetest person and always makes you feel like you’re eating at moms house. A MUST when I come into town!

Cute little place right off the highway with great food and excellent service! We stopped for a late lunch on the way to Detroit from Sleeping Bear Dunes. We sat outside on the patio and got a couple of sandwiches, a cup of soup, some French toast, and pancakes, all delicious! My kids loved that they served breakfast all day. Of course, we got ice cream cones before we left. The child scoops were huge! The young man who took our order was friendly and courteous. We would come here all the time if we lived closer!

My wife and were on our way home on a Sunday when we stopped in to grab some coffee. The staff greeted us as soon as the door was open. We were offered menus but we told them we were anxious to get home and didn’t have to time to sit down. «No problem» the young gentleman said from behind the counter. We can make two breakfast sandwiches to go and since you’re in a hurry I’ll only charge you $ 5 instead of 6 $. Five bucks for two coffees and two breakfast sandwiches with bacon, egg, and cheese?! We were sold and out the door in under 10 minutes. Their coffee was fresh and tasty as well. I think the guy told us they get it from a place in Traverse City called Higher Ground Trading Company. Great service and friendly people. We’ll definitely stop in again for a sit down.
