I’m going to be straight up and admit that I’m being biase in writing this review. When I found out that Ladies Den was having its grand opening on Saturday, June 28th, I did not hesitate to say no. I was even more excited that I would be able to make it for free classes and massages. My all-time, favorite Zumba instructor LaShawn and her sister-in-law DesMar are co-partners to this new dance studio. As a LA Fitness member, I was able to experience many instructors and classes. Zumba is my favorite but only one teacher stood out — LaShawn. This is how much I love her class — on Friday’s, I would make sure to leave early enough from Vinings to be there for her 4:30 pm class in Tucker. That’s how awesome she is. I love her style — fast paced with sexy, cool moves. It’s the only Zumba class where I break a sweat, no kidding and I’ve been doing Zumba for 3 years! The only other class at LA Fitness that made me sweat like that was Kickboxing Cardio. It’s been a good six months since I last taken LaShawn’s Zumba class. LA Fitness or not, I will make sure to be in her class and support her. Since I’m not familiar with the Conyers area, I relied on my GPS to get me to Ladies Den. Yes, I was willing to drive from Norcross. I did not want to miss it. The studio is not hard to find, it’s across the street from the train tracks. The words The Ladies Den is printed out in the famous Desi font, Samarkan. Motto is women empowerment or Shakti, which means power or empowerment in Hindi/Sanskrit. I did not make the first class and glad I didn’t lol. It was Steele Frame, which is bootcamp style. The next class is Zumba, that’s what I came for. I had so much fun and sweated. It didn’t feel like the cold AC air was blowing but it did. I remembered some of the moves and missed the songs and dances a lot, especially the Brazilain ones. At that moment, I wish I lived closer or worked closer. I wasn’t able to stay for the next class — Hip Hop. This page on the website has a list of what classes are offered — The classes are very affordable too. $ 6 for drop in or $ 25 for 5 class punch card or $ 45 for 10 class punch card. There are also membership option for $ 70 or unlimited month to month for $ 50. Classes are offered Monday through Fridays. None on weekends because it’s open for private events. I wish I was able to go. If only I lived closer. If only I worked closer.
