The narrow menu is okay. They forgot to include one of our sandwiches and the service was awkward.

Stobys is a go to breakfast and lunch spot. Best breakfast in town especially the biscuits and gravy. For lunch they have a great grilled chicken salad with smokey Dijon dressing. famous for the cheese dip which is good, but what keeps you coming back is the wait staff and great food.

If their place wasn’t so congested, I would think they would have a lot more business. They really need a place that’s twice the size to hold all the customers, because a lot of us just leave when we see theirs too long of a wait just for a table. Their tables are too close together and no room for the handicapped customers to get in the door and comfortably get to a table. My husband and I haven’t eaten their in months because of the lack of space and feeling so cloister phobic.

Stoby’s is not all it’s cracked up to be. If you’re looking for a stereotypical sandwich and chips for lunch this is your place. I hope their breakfast is better than their avg lunch. Oh and get their pie, they are good!

Peaceful atmosphere. Gentle, prompt, friendly, and complete service. Good food. Their biscuits and cinnamon rolls are spot on, superb, ten stars out of five, five being perfect. No kidding. Hard to find(like, on the edge of a residential neighborhood). Carefully hidden. But well worth the search. Walk on in. Great way to start a road trip leg.

Loved the fact that you can buy amazing food and awesome desserts. UCA Bear Bucks money being accepted is cool too!

I went there once a couple of years, ago… has to be the nastiest place in Conway!!! I couldn’t enjoy my meal when it came because I slipped on the GREASY floor on my way to the booth and had to ask for a cloth to wipe the greasy table. If this is, a popular place for many folks in Conway… they must have low standards.

Food is wonderful, proportions perfect, we had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table,(there are only 16), then another 30 minutes after order for food. But it was worth it. The staff are friendly and courteous. If you don’t like the idea of waiting and would prefer the same food available at all chains, then by all means go to the chain, then those of us that prefer good home cooked food won’t have to wait as long.

Nothing negative to say on my visit. We came late(after dinner rush) so we got seated immediately and had great service. Cheese dip(original and spicy white) are great. My boyfriend liked the spicy better. The original cheeseburger and possum pie are also very good! Restaurant itself is a cute homey place with wooden booths, tables, and chairs. Good music as well(popular top hits). Highly recommend.

This restaurant is VERY tiny with very few seats and tables. They have 10 booths along the walls and 6 tables in the middle. You WILL have a wait and you WILL have trouble finding parking so just park on the street. They are open at 6 for breakfast and have a diverse breakfast menu. Service is very slow but the food is well worth the wait. I have already eaten here twice and hope to eat here again before I leave. If you don’t want to deal with the crowds they do have a menu online and you can call in a take out order. Today, I tried the chicken salad pita and chips with original cheese dip. Cheese dip is their own recipe and really delicious. For yummy fresh made desserts Patti Cakes is directly behind Stobys and owned by the wife of the gentleman that owns Stobys. If you ever visit Conway be sure to give Stobys and Patti Cakes a try.

Stoby’s is a Conway staple. Breakfast: Delicious. It’s always delicious. The omelets are great, their pancakes are amazing, and their coffee is consistently good. If it’s a fundraiser Sunday, you’re in for a great value. $ 5 for all-you-can-eat pancakes! For lunch or dinner, I usually stick with The Stoby or a cheeseburger. Pure. Heaven. It’s not the cheapest lunch place, but you’re not going to go broke. I usually eat for less than $ 10, but if you’re footing the bill for a drink or the cheese dip, you can easily spend more. Speaking of cheese dip, the cheese dip can be polarizing – either you love it or you don’t know why everyone else does. That said, it’s not life-changing, but I rarely skip it(unless I’m eating breakfast). Do not dine in if you’re in a hurry. Just don’t do it. Small restaurant, small kitchen, kind of slow service. If you want a quick meal, call in your order and hit up their drive through. The newest thing is delivery through Chef Shuttle, which is worth every penny of the $ 6 delivery fee.

Well been eating at Stobys since 84 but have never been told the grill was closed at 945 when they close at 10??? Was absolutely refused service??? Perhaps sign should be changed to «We’re open til 10pm but only serve til 945»

Stoby’s was a favorite in college, a treat for diverting from campus meal plan. I like the cheese dip and their sweet tea– consistency delicious and fresh. Breakfast is good! Best value and not too busy. Service could be faster, but it’s understandable with a small kitchen and a drive thru.

We visited Stoby’s on Saturday, August 9, 2014, arriving sometime near 3:00 p.m. On the way there, I told my partner that at Stoby’s it’s all about the cheese dip. Everything else is ancillary. After we had enjoyed a few very ordinary chips dipped into the tasty cheesiness, my partner asked, «What makes this dip so special for you?» Frankly, that stumped me a bit Upon reflection, I decided it was its uniqueness. This dip likely isn’t available anywhere else, and I do enjoy the flavor. But her point was well taken. I suppose its greatness resides more in my mind than in culinary achievement. On this occasion, my partner ordered the Petit Jean Peppered-Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries. Idiotically, I ordered the Chef Salad Supreme. As one might expect, I got the fuzzy end of that lollipop. Her burger was very good, and her fries were excellent. My salad, however, was well below average – at best. Instead of the bacon bits promised by the menu, my salad was liberally covered with textured vegetable protein, chemically altered to resemble bits of bacon. Suffice it to say that no hogs were killed in the creation of these horrible little irritants. I spent the first five minutes of my meal in an attempt to pick off as many of these tiny pieces as I could before they dropped out of sight into my salad. Other salad ingredients also failed to live up to expectations. The mushrooms were canned, and the ham was nothing more than a few cut-up slices of below average lunch meat. On the positive side, the Smoked Honey Dijon dressing was very good, but it wasn’t nearly enough to make me feel less like an imbecile for not ordering one of the cheeseburger and fries plates. I’ll wrap up this review with a couple of recommendations. First, avoid selecting a table by the window. The flies like it, and we had to be ever-vigilant in shooing them away from our food and drinks. Second, arrange your personal schedule to avoid visiting the restroom. It’s located in back of the kitchen, right next to the kitchen sink. Fortunately, my visit was exclusively for the purpose of washing my hands, so I didn’t have to close the door to this tiny room. My partner, however, was forced to close the door, and she reports that the apparently unventilated room smelled like urine. In short, if one orders cheeseburgers, fries, and cheese dip, avoids the restroom, and sits away from the flies, then Stoby’s is a four-star establishment. Unfortunately, this visit rates only three.

This Conway institution has a loyal following. My husband’s grandparents, who are locals, visit regularly for breakfast and lunch. We came for dinner. It was fairly busy but we found both a parking spot and a table. Their famous cheese dip is good. Nothing extraordinary. But after a day of airplane travel and barely eating, a pot of cheese is good temptation. The chips are the bland kind you can buy by the massive bag at a restaurant supply store – no homemade chips here, but they do the job and convey cheese to mouth. My husband had a hamburger and really enjoyed it. Good meat, toasted bun. It even looked pretty. I snagged one of his fries – it was perfectly fried and quite good. I ate the grilled chicken and strawberry salad. It hit the spot. Perfect mix of flavors, perfect size. To counter the goodness of the salad, we ordered a bread pudding to share. I am on a quest to find the best bread puddings in the country. Stoby’s boasts that theirs is the ultimate. Um. It needs a major ego check. I was very disappointed. This was the most mediocre bread pudding I have encountered in my quest. The joy of this dish should be in the bread – good bread, with good texture and chunks. There were no discernible chunks here. It could have easily passed for a glazed cake. I can only imagine that it soaked in the milk mix for way too long. Plus, it was microwaved. The positive is that it came out to the table fast. The bad is that it’s a thick hunk of breadiness and the middle was still cold. However, I was not going to give up on Stoby’s desserts. Folks at a neighboring table were eating possum pie, and I vowed to return for a slice. I read up on possum pie online and KNEW I had to try it. I had my chance the next day. Tip: Call ahead and use the drive through! We ordered one slice of possum pie and had it waiting for us. It was a THICK slice of perfection. I’m happy to state that the possum pie made up for the lackluster bread pudding. That pie is a glorious thing, truly. No wonder it’s a regional delicacy.(No possums were harmed in the making of this pie; according to the internet, it’s dubbed so because the pie is «playing possum» and hiding its goodness in layers.)

You cannot beat the prices here. I moved from Montana and I have not paid under 10 dollars for a burger and fries in a while. Ambiance: it’s a small restaurant so they are often on a wait. I love how it has a old time feel. They don’t have a wait list you just wait your turn and when their is a clean table you seat yourself. The food: I have had the Blue cheese Cajun burger. It’s served on brioche which adds to the taste/quality. They use beer battered fries and they are very good. I also really like their chilly cheese omelet Service: great, friendly staff.

This review is for lunch menu. I went here for brunch on weekdays with a friend just because it was closer to where we were going to meet, plus it is local. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken(came with 2 sides and a piece of cornbread). It was nothing special, small portion compare to the price($ 7.80 ish). I’ve experienced better and there are other places that provides better quality & quantity food for better price. Although it was packed, the service was good. There are restaurants that make me think I should have gone to a franchise restaurant and this was one of them. Food Quality: Mediocre Price: Overpriced compared to quality and quantity Service: Good Will I come back: No

Love the veggie omelets! This is my absolute favorite spot to get a hearty breakfast, and I adore all the vegetarian options. The service itself varies depending on the waitress you get(one time our food was forgotten and we ended up taking it to go), but overall the food is well worth the wait! Good coffee as well.
