I took my handgun license to carry class here. Top notch facility, trainers and staff! I will drive here over other ranges close to me *cough, bracken, cough* simply because the staff is so friendly and helpful. After I completed the LTC class, they gave me a free pass to the range. Jaime was an awesome teacher, engaging and funny! I look forward to practicing here on a regular basis, and getting to know these guys even better!

Excellent place to go sight in your rifle, and practice. Very friendly and attentive staff. Always take eye and hearing protection for everyone in your group, it’s not only the rules, but it’s just smart.

My wife and I went there today to get our CHL /​LTC license, and we were really impressed. The instructor was very informative and he was very professional about how he ran the class. We can honestly say we learned a lot from the course and are really happy we took it even if we never carry. The range part of the class went extremely smooth because they have an amazing group of people who support the range. They were there if you needed any help what so ever. The facilities are really nice and the place has everything you need. I highly recommend this place.

I did the ladies only handgun class today which is taught by one of the owners. The class was awesome! I already had some experience with handguns but I feel like I still learned a lot! She went over all the important points and we got to shoot 8 different handguns at the range. All of the shooting and ammo is included in the price. The instructor has a lot of knowledge and gave lots of good pointers. I will be going back soon for the CHL class.

Excellent range, managed very well, safe without being intrusive, layout is very convienant, and they don’t gouge in pricing. But, only metal targets which if fine if only interested in knowing if you hit or miss, but not so good if your trying to determine how tight your pattern is our for helping new shooters. Still, I go there occasionally just because it is a really good place.

First time shooting and went with a friend. Everyone was friendly & helpful. They have many different size targets and the metal targets are helpful for a beginner like me. They offer CHL classes too.

I did a ladies basic handgun class out here and I felt like I totally got my money’s worth. It’s taught by a woman (co-​owner of the range) who is clearly knowledgeable, friendly and has a passion for what she does. It was a friendly environment, overall.
The thing I liked best about this class is that it allowed you to try a variety of guns that were pre-​selected as female-​friendly choices. This was incredibly helpful as I’m considering owning a gun for the first time for personal protection. The 1:1 coaching during shooting practice was also great.
Though I haven’t been back yet, I wouldn’t hesitate to go out to this range and to shoot or feel uncomfortable asking for help. Nice folks.

I really enjoyed my experience at Lonestar Handgun. The facilities are amazing. Tons of shooting lanes, paper and steel targets. They have great classes and friendly, helpful, professional staff. The owner is as personable as you’ll find in a local business owner. I will be back for sure.

I was blown away by the professionals that run this place. Extremely informative and helpful. I did my CHL and fingerprinting here. They have everything you need to get your license and get experience shooting. I have been I many gun safety classes etc. and these guys know their stuff. EXCELLENT!

Awesome awesome awesome… Took the CHL Class with my GF and walked out with new found knowlege. RICH G said it all about the facilities… The Staff is very friendly… appreciate to see mostly Veterans there but ALL are great. Josh has done an amazing thing there. I’ll be going at least 1 – 2 times a month. keep up the great work.

BEST place in the San Antonio area for shooting. My husband and I took the CHL class at their old location, and are regulars at their new location for shooting practice. Josh, the owner, is wonderful — very patient, kind, and makes you feel very comfortable. I am often nervous with shooting, and this place makes you feel at ease. The range masters are helpful and assist with anything you need. I have also taken the women-​only class and I do highly recommend it. It’s nice to be a in class of all ladies to not feel intimidated.

I did my concealed handguns license class here at their new location and it looks to be very promising. The handgun and rifle ranges will soon be open to the public and despite this shop being tucked away at the confusing end of several roads it offers a lot.
On their menu will be CHL classes, advanced weapons training and tactical weapons training. The staff is very knowledgable and, while a small store, they offer some very fun firearms related toys inside.
I added this new location to Unilocal as their old location was previously existing so hopefully that was helpful to them in getting more traffic their way. You can find their website at

One caveat, the women folk might want to take a look at the ladies only firearms class they have available.
