John McCarthy is awesome to work with. He is always straight to the point and honest when it comes to your car. I ran into an issue when we first moved to Conshohocken and I had to get my inspection done in about 30 days. He understood completely and was able to fit me into his schedule. He truly knows how important his costumers are. Always let us know about what options we have and prices. Very honest and won’t try and up sell you on any product. Is also willing to listen to your suggestions too which is absolutely the best, since my partner speaks car. Definitely recommend him if you want a to stay local and looking for a new mechanic.

Honest, high-​quality auto mechanics that do the job right the first time and charge reasonable prices are hard to find. In fact, I don’t think I had ever had one, before we moved to this neighborhood and, in an emergency one day, asked John McCarthy of McCarthy Auto Service for help with our car. We’ve never looked back ever since. John is fantastic. He is great at what he does, always gives us an estimate and options before starting work, and does the work himself. I’m not sure I’ve ever gotten an estimate from the person who is actually going to work on the car. It makes a difference. His prices are reasonable too. We feel lucky to have McCarthy’s just a few blocks from our house — we could probably roll our car down the hill to his shop if we had to! — but even if we moved an hour away, my husband and I would still take our car to John. He’s the best.
