Spec’s Liquor

I have been to this location three or four times since moving to the Conroe area. I am not a heavy liquor drinker or wine drinker, I mainly drink Saint Arnold’s beer and I can get that at H-​E-​B. But as a thank you for some friends letting us stay at their house over the weekend I wanted to get them some drinks, and for me and my buddy some cigars.
Of course their selection of liquor is outstanding and I wanted some Rebecca’s Creek whiskey, fine Texas whiskey. Their selection of cigars is pretty good also. Inside the humidor they have bags that you can carry them out of in case you get a handful like I did this time. My buddy’s wife drinks wine, which I know nothing about, so I asked one of the employees for some help. As always they are most friendly and most eager to give you their impression and some suggestions on what you might want to buy.
Of course they also have a great selection of beer. Probably the finest in the city and so I got me a case of my Saint Arnold’s amber beer as well.

Good selection, they stocked Old Rasputin and Djarums, which is what I wanted.
Will keep em’ in mind if I’m in the area and need something!

Great selection, convenient location, super helpful staff, and if you join their club you often can get decent deals. Their prices are not always the cheapest, but they will match any advertisements as long as you have it with you.
I will say that I got a super deal on 2 bottles of Veuve Champagne for NYE and they honored a competitor’s price. I was pleased with the level of service they provided by calling HEB to confirm the price, and even happier to discover it was marked down further at check out! HAPPY 2011 to us!
I like that they are Houston based chain, so I don’t mind supporting them even though I prefer buying from a mom & pop establishment.
