I have belonged to several YMCA’s around the country & the Conroe facility is exceptional because of the 144 acres it sits on. This acreage is very unique as it offers miles of horse back trails for riders and hikers. The facility itself is the usual high standard of cleanliness, kindness & wide ranges of fitness classes that YMCA’s aim for. I personally like that my membership fees support local families in need. No other gym does all that! Thank you YMCA of Conroe!

I see the bad reviews but I have not experienced that. The building is on the old side but the facility has many great activities. I do not think you can take equestrian courses or programs for cheaper anyplace around. The sports teams my children have played on were always well run and had great coaches. The day camps in the summer were great as well. The staff seems friendly and always helpful. I just Unilocal based on my experiences and they have been great.

Not the flashiest location but not terrible either. There is lots of open space and trails if you like to train outside. The fitness room had nice machines and is well monitored. The family fun pool is great as well as the heated pool outside. If your kid is interested in horses then this is definitely the Y for you.
Staff is friendly when you walk in but the locker rooms leave a bit to be desired. I’ve enjoyed all the instructors in the classes I’ve taken.
I wouldn’t, however, recommend the summer camp because the kids never, I mean never, go inside. This is Because the facility is small so there is no room to put them. The best they can do is go under a pavilion. My daughter is no wimpy girl but geez, all day outside when it’s 106 or more? Get those kids to some a/​c at least once in the day!
Overall a decent facility but I feel robbed paying over $ 50 a month.

Don’t enroll in this Y!!! They DO NOT allow guests in the pool. The Woodlands Y’s have three locations. They allow you to bring a guest three times per year before charging them. The conroe Y is ridiculous. We were members for more than a year and had one bad experience after another including the kids soccer. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Woodlands Y’s. They are WAYYYYYY better. Better Staff, better facilities, and better guest policies!!! Not much further away too.

The only good thing about this YMCA is the wellness center is very nice. But the childcare area is absolutely horrible. Their check in system is not by scanning in your card to identify you as your childs parents, But by signing your name on a paper and dropping your kid off. Any stranger could walk in and say your child belongs to them and kidnap your child and the staff would not even notice. The childcare is not sanitary whatsoever. Kids are always sick and coughing inside. The childcare staff barely cleans the toys or pay attention to the kids. Made myself a promise that I would never return to this YMCA again. I wouldn’t even bring a flea infected dog into this childcare, because the DOG may get sick.
