I got into home brewing a year ago and have dealt with many brewing suppliers. I tried to order something from the Morebeer website because it was cheaper than anywhere else, however when I tried to check out the shipping rate was kind of high and I couldn’t find an option to change it. Before I just gave up I decided to try calling customer service. As it turned out they were out of one of the items in my cart at that shipping location so the computer automatically scheduled it to ship from another warehouse, and that doubled the shipping rate. Not only did Megan fix the problem, she offered to waive the shipping costs all together for my trouble. Now THAT’S old school customer service. This is now my go-to supplier.

60 day hassle free return policy is not exactly hassle free. I recently made a purchase of a product that many online stores carry, and because I was unsure if the specific product would fit my needs, I ultimately chose More Beer because of the aforementioned return policy. Despite all the online research I did on the product, I wasn’t able to really get an idea of how it would suit me until I had it in front of me. Well, turns out the product was not for me. After submitting a return form request, I expected to receive return shipping labels. Instead I received a return address to California and was told that I am expected to pay return shipping. Return shipping is between $ 40-$ 50 which is 1⁄3 of my total purchase price. That’s a hassle. Even though the product shipped from Pennsylvania, good ol’ Keith informed me that the company was based in CA and that I would have to ship it there, even though shipping to PA warehouse would save me about $ 25. This stipulation should be very clear on their website under the returns FAQ. I understand the uncertainties that come along with buying products online, but these major suppliers are putting the local guys out of business, so you would think that they would be more apt to eat the cost of return shipping to ensure a strong customer base. Overall I feel like the customer service reps plain don’t care, and if that’s how you want to run your business thats fine, but I for one will not be making any future purchases with this company, nor will I recommend them to anybody, and will definitely be sure to clarify their hassle free return policy to everybody for them.

I don’t know what is going on at MoreBeer this last year, Customer Service is really suffering especially online, they don’t answer email etc. on product availability or keep their prices as competitive as they used to, even when you bring it to their attention they just ignore your concerns. I’ve been buying from these guys for decades since they sold out of their house long long ago. Maybe they’re getting too big and it’s going to their heads and pocketbooks. Oh well, hopefully they will see the light and return to good customer service and best pricing like they used to have. Our only choice to shop elsewhere with our dollars, maybe that will get their attention

They call themselves«More beer, more wine» but the staff new absolutely nothing about winemaking. They did have a decent selection but their prices are high compared to other home brew/winemaking stores I’ve been to.

I love this place. As a concord resident I feel super lucky to be able to drive down the street and pick up supplies to start brewing today. The staff is excellent. Anytime I have a question they give me a super clear answer. Being able to mill the grain on site saves a ton of money once you start going into bigger setups as well. I’ve been to other supply houses whom admitted to picking up supplies from more beer. They must be doing something right.

I use my CO2 tank for use in my 55 gallon aquarium plants. The guy who helped me was really nice and the tank was clean and had a shiny new valve stem. Going back soon for an exchange.

Perhaps I’m the only person who has had a bad experience. My wife ordered me a deluxe beer brewing kit for Christmas. Lots of boxes showed up, I was happy and put them away until a later date when I could play with my new toys. A month or so later I realized almost everything was missing. Multiple attempts by Morebeer to get everything to me, finally everything has arrived, mostly unbroken… In the meantime I have taken a class to make beer and my wife took a class to make wine. With the kit all my wife needed to make wine was a bucket and 6 gallon carboy so I want to a local store and got what she needed. Got home and realized Morebeer had sent me a 6 gallon instead of 5… I wasn’t going to write a review but they went above and beyond to give terrible service. The girl who handles this stuff was nice enough to give me attitude and insinuate it’s my fault for not realizing sooner that they had messed up. Next time you screw up don’t give the customer attitude about it, just fix it!

Extremely helpful staff, Brandon is the best. I was in here a few weeks ago to take my boyfriend Christmas shopping for his beer kit. We left w/everything we needed after purchasing the 3G beer starter kit and some tips on what to do, as well as what NOT to do. We also swapped out the belgian blonde ingredients for the imperial stout and added hazelnut to it yummmm. This place also teaches beer and wine classes on the weekends! Great place to check out for people who are thinking of making beer as a hobby.

This place is amazing! I’ve been to the Morebeer! location in Los Altos which is also great but I wanted to leave a review on this page from my most recent visit. I drove all the way out from SF and having done so, I must say I will continue in the future. What separates this place from most other brew shops is a few things:(1) Quality– Think about it, this place has a huge presence online and ship all over the country constantly, thus a high product churn rate and thus you have fresher products on the shelves.(2) Selection– They have literally everything you could ever need for home brewing, from equipment, raw materials, scales, CO2, etc.(3 and most importantly) They have an awesome staff who is willing to answer any sort of question you may have. From the most expert, to beginner level, they’ll talk you through whatever sort of problem or question you have– and will do so patiently. I’ve been to my fair share of home brew supply stores(Fermentation Solutions in Campbell, Brewcraft in SF), so believe me when I say this place is a cut above the rest!

This store is beyond awesome! An entire store dedicated to BEER! Although I know nothing about brewing my own beer(which they seem focused on) they also carry lots of parts! We are building a keezer and needed some miscellaneous nipples, nuts, cleaning stuff, etc. I never got the ladies name who helped us but she was such a help and so nice and friendly! They can also order craft brew kegs for you too(beers bevmo can’t get)! Thanks for all the help guys. We will be back! Cheers!

It’s always good to have a backup plan. Or at least some kind of backup option. Although More Beer isn’t within my normal circle of travel, that’s how I ended up. It was brew day & my homebrew partner informed me we needed 1 more pound of a not too unusual malt + a packet of a pretty unusual yeast. More Beer had both in stock. So I drove a little out of my way to come get it. When I 1st walked in, staff was pretty engaged with what seemed like a couple regulars. It took a little while to get their attention. Once I got some help, however, everything went smoothly & quickly. Staff gave me the rundown on how weighing & milling malts is self-serve. & the yeast was easy to find in their cooler. For the most part, I got what I needed without fuss. It’s good to know that there’s a resource like More Beer available for any last-minute brewing needs.

They have terrible customer service and their website has issues. Here’s how my experience has gone: 1. I placed an order online and change my billing and shipping addresses because I moved. 2. Then next day, I receive an email from Keith Klingler saying that I didn’t enter any shipping information for the order. 3. It’s impossible to place an order without entering shipping info, but I’m not that bothered. I just email him the correct address. 4. Six days go by and more order hasn’t shipped, so I email asking for a status update. 5. Keith inform that my credit card was declined.(It’s because he didn’t change the billing address only the shipping. 6. I ask why they didn’t inform me there was a problem and Terry simply apologizes and offers to cancel my order. 7. I realize I need a few additional items, I just place another order. Also, I notice their site has turned my original order into a quote, so I know it’s dead. BTW, this time the website addresses has no address saved(old or new), so I enter them again. 8. This time I get an email from Terry Howery saying that I didn’t enter a shipping option.(Again, it’s not possible to place an order without choosing a shipping option). I choose the free shipping and my order total reflected that. Terry’s email included an invoice that still had the old, original addresses on it! 9. So I emailed Terry. I said that I would like free shipping and to please correct my addresses. 10. He emailed me back with a corrected invoice. 11. 4 days later I receive my order. 12. 3 days later I receive the order again. 13. I email Terry them to inform him that I received double orders, asking for an RMA. 14. He replied and said that it”s my fault. 15. I’m contacting my credit card company. I will never do business with them again.

Being in Texas I prefer to stick with a local vendor for home brew so that I can have yeast shipped overnight(from Austin) with ground shipping rates(& state tax), but Austin Home Brew’s website was down, so I seeked out. Liked their flat shipping rate at $ 5.99 over $ 59. Received my several cases of 1 liter flip top bottles, two beer kits and some harder to find Japanese hops(Ace Sorachi, the only hop from Japan), and a particular strain of the 5 Styrian(Goldings) from the Styrian river project bordering both Austria and Slovenia. Great product range, fast delivery even from halfway across the country, good website. I even called them when I received my order to compliment their packaging and ask a question related to brewing. Got a real person that knew the answer(simple and basic). Great service. I guess this may look a little suspicious that –I– of all people can’t find anything negative at all. Wow. I am surprised myself.

My other favorite brewing store! They have almost everything that one would need for crafting their own drinks, wine and(of course!) beer included! No complaints here, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they always have a great stuff in stock for your drink crafting needs. SCREWBUYINGALCOHOL, MAKEITYOURSELFLIKE A TOTALBOSS!

After getting some bad info from my old LHBS I decided to come here on a long trek from Fremont during rush hour. It was quite a distance from where I live. I came in to find ALL kinds of things I’ve never had at my other LHBS. Better, fresher, more of them. I was doing my first all-grain and had never had to mill my own grain. I asked the guy at the register, «so I’ve never had to use the mill before, how to I adjust the crush?» Without looking up he told me, «its not adjustable.» Ok, «so should i put all the grains in 1 bag or separate so you can ring em up?» I don’t remember what he said but the attitude was very much of «this would be a great place to work if it weren’t for all these annoying customers.» Very squidward-ish. 15 minutes later he was a bit more helpful and asked if I had any questions. I’d still come here but that wasn’t the best first impression.

Beer Beer and More Beer also offers More Flavor and More Wine in their portfolio. Turn right at Costco off the Monument Corridor and enter an Industrial Park address that is run and patronized by folks who love to make their own stuff and tell you all about it. And if you wander across the lot and back, you’ll find Ale Industries and a glass of Rye’d Piper if you happen by on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 3 – 7PM. Once inside, I found about everything needed to make my own stuff(maybe later) and a working«laboratory» in full small batch production swing. That slows service down a bit if they’re in the middle of a step. In the meantime, I watched the action, admired some of the glassware, and picked out a few bottles of Heretic(Evil Cousin and Evil Twin) of of the cooler to take home and enjoy. Beer from Pittsburg? Moooo!
