I think they sold the place and changed the menu. Not as good. Drag… been going here for 20 years.

Things have changed. The employees were different, the menu on the wall(which having gone to this place since I was 8 I’m no longer accustomed to actually looking at) was clearly«new.» More importantly, the flavors were different. The burrito tasted overwhelmingly of the type of sourness that one expects from Chipotle. The once divine enchilada sauce, a near gravy-like concoction on chiles, tomatoes, lard/beefy goodness, tasted just like tomatoes… like something you’d find on a crappy pasta at a crummy diner. The salsas were not bad, but were definitely sour. It had been a little over a year since my last visit. Hopefully it was just an off day. Had this place been new to me, based on flavor alone, I would have never gone back and awarded only two stars. But the lengua was just as fatty and delicious as ever so not all was a complete loss.

Like many others, I’ve been coming to Mexican Burritos since the 1990’s. I can’t vouch for their entire menu as the thing I love here, I get each time. Their Special Burrito, no meat — wet, is terrific! What I like most is its predictable. It’s not different every time, I know what to expect. Their salsa/hot sauce is really yummy too. My kids get the carnitas, or just a plain BRC, and its always good, and fast. Cash only limits me sometimes into taking a quick stop off for burritos, but maybe that’s a good thing. I treat myself occasionally and that’s ok as I’m not in a hurry to look at the fat content of their burritos :) But if you want a good burrito, without all the fancy schmancy, this is a great place.

I had a hard time deciding whether to give this place 2 stars or 3 so for now I’m gonna give it 2.5 stars. I found this restaurant by accident and by random. My original plan was to order Mexican to go at Tortilleria El Molino for lunch about 2 stores away as I had a really great exp w/their food on my 1st visit. But there was a very long line out the door and I couldn’t wait in line or I would’ve been late for class that day. So I ended up ordering take-out here. First impressions: It was very empty. There were 2 workers behind the counter. Looked at the menu and saw some dishes that sounded yummy. Then I looked at the actual food that was on display. The only one that looked appealing to me was the Chile Colorado(beef drenched in reddish brown chile sauce) so I ordered that in a burrito. They used a big tortilla w/the works and to top it all off, it was drenched in a red sauce and cheese(wet burrito style). By the time I was ready to eat it for my mid afternoon lunch break, the burrito’s sauces and its grease seeped out from the foil, tray and bag. No good! It got all over the table I was sitting near as well as the tortilla wrap ended up so soggy that I stopped eating that. However, I did eat all the meat and fillings inside which tasted just so-so. The only reason why I didn’t give it a solid one star is that at least it was inexpensive and they gave you a lot of portions for your money but other than that, I will not return.

I love this place for lunch and quick burrito. The carnitas is delicious and salty, crispy. I never stray from the burrito. They are large and you never want them to end. I also almost never stray from the carnitas burrito.

I also have been going to Mexican Burritos since they were in their old location on Contra Costa Blvd when I used to work across the street in the building that housed the VA administration, so I know all the guys that work there from a long time ago. The tacos are OK as are most of the other menu. but the real clincher, for me anyway, has been the Chile Verde wet burrito and/or the Carnitas wet Burrito. Whenever I get the urge. which is often… for a tasty burrito smothered in either green sauce or Mole sauce, I head over lickety split to visit my old amigos and they’ve never dissapointed. Sometimes I eat there and chat with the staff or sometimes I drive back home to Walnut Creek and eat at home. If you love Chile Verde or Carnitas… doesn’t everybody… and can’t make it across the tunnel, give my amigos at Mexican Burritos a visit. Come hungry cause the burritos are HUGE!..

I’ve been coming here for over 7 years i love how not a lot has changed in this place since then, they have the same employees which is great because they are always so nice & friendly. They absolutely have the best tortas in the area for a great price, the place across the street called Los Rancheros also has pretty amazing tortas but they’re somewhat pricey, & somehow they always mess up in my orders so i’d rather go to Mexican Burritos, the carne asada torta is the best i always order it with grilled onion which just makes it amazing! My friend tryed their burritos & she was also very pleased by it, its a huge burrito & i like that you see the guys making your food right there in front of you. This place is just amazing & the awsome service just makes it a whole lot better.

**Cash Only** Tacos 1.Chile Verde was tender and full of flavor. 2.Carne asada. Special shrimp burrito, filled with re fried beans, rice, bell peppers and onions, this is a wet burrito a special sauce is poured on top and drizzle with cheese. Over all the portions are on the larger side so come with an appetite I think the chile verde is the way to go next time I come here. tres 31 doze

Nice people, super cheap and decent food, lots of parking, plenty of seating. A little run down. Overall a nice place for a cheap lunch. Bring cash!

I’ve been to a couple events where the food was provided from here and I thought it was pretty good, especially for such a wide variety of meats. I visited the restaurant for the first time the other day for lunch and it was pretty empty, so we were served quickly. They don’t speak very much English, but pointing always works. You can get a bowl with meat(s), cheese, sour cream, etc. and then just get a few tortillas and make your own tacos. The interior isn’t anything to write home about, but it’s a typical Mexican restaurant on Monument. Also, they only take cash.

The service was excellent. The person behind the counter was very friendly. They give you a large amount of food for a small price. We tried tacos with chicken, carne asada, and chile verde. The best of the 3 were the chile verde. However, none of the food was great. The booths and seats were dirty and full of grease stains.

Got the quesadilla with carne asada. Put in a real nice amount of meat. Good amount if you’re not starving and don’t want to feel too full. $ 4 with tax; very nice price. Guy rounded my 90 cents change to $ 1; muchos gracias. Was actually trying to go to Molina in the same strip mall, but went here by mistake. I thought the«Mexican Burriotos» was a generic explanation of the food served, not the actual name. However, turned out well. It’s the kind of place you don’t expect English to be spoken(but it is). nice assortment of meats. Guac was cut a bit, but no more than I’ve seen other lower-end establishment do. I’d return for certain, if in the area.

I have been going to Mexican Burritos since I was a child(early 1990’s). I used to eat at the Mexican Burritos in Pleasant Hill, right across the street from the old Grand Auto. But when they tore that area down to build a new theater and shopping center, I was forced to travel the extra four minutes to Monument Blvd to eat at their Concord location. I have been eating at this location for approximately 10 years. Same ‘olé same ‘olé. Clean restaurant, fresh food, amazing flavor, and a great price. I usually get the super burrito w/chicken or the nachos coupled with a steak taco. Amazing! I believe the manager has been there 20+ years, and two other workers have been there at least 10 + years each. 40 years of service at one location between 3 employees… … that’s a feat amongst itself. If you are looking for the BESTMEXICANFOOD north of San Francisco then this is the place. Bring cash and a hungry appetite. Cons: Cash only, location is not in an ideal area

If you want a burrito, just a burrito, and you don’t care about the customer service or any bs like that, than go to Mexican burritos. The simplicity of the name says everything. Thats exactly what they make; Mexican burritos. I love their burritos! The mole or enchilada sauce or whatever it is they put on top of them is awesome. The meat is good. I have had the chicken and the carnitas. They are cheap, only $ 5.45 for a burrito with everything. And they are fast. I can grab a burrito and be back to my house in Walnut Creek in like 15 minutes. Love it! Unilocal!

the meats are preprepared in food trays for a scoop and wrap operation. the tortilla wrap wasn’t preheated. but is later pressurized to warm it. –the super(5.45) had a gravy sauce poured on top with some cheese added, nice touch. the chile verde pork was tender but not very flavorful, true of the entire burrito. individual chile relleno(3.25), enchilada(1.95) are also available. horchata(1) this taqueria offers cheap eats and has a large sit down area; there is also mex music to eat by. not very tasty but a lot of food.

Location: a couple of blocks from where I work about 2 – 3 days per month. Ambiance: who cares… Price: good: Service: the staff behind the counter was pleasant. When I ordered Tacos al Pastor, one of their many meat choices, he asked if I had 5 minutes for him to prepare it. I agreed. He cooked the meat to order, asked me if I wanted«everything» on the taco. Yes! He spoke English to me the whole time. I do look like a Gringo.(Pero soy aleman.) Food: Ok, here’s my issue. Whereas the freshness and quality of meat and other ingredients was fine, the flavor was lacking. Despite adding lots of salt and pico de gallo, the overall meat/condiment mixture had no flavor. Since the flavor is the most important issue, especially in this type of establishment, this taqueria doesn’t measure up…

Boy, you guys who frequent Concord have some pretty darned low expectations. You need to get out more. Hey, I know: go to the Concord BART station, and get on either an SFO or Daly City train. Get off the train at either the 16th Street or 24th Street BART station. Then, take the escalator up to street level. Ask anyone – prostitute, drug dealer, drug addict, yuppie, etc. – what their favorite burrito place is. Go there and try a burrito. That will provide you with a benchmark by which to compare whether a burrito is good or bad. But I digress… Mexican Burritos is just mediocre at best. When I went in at 1pm, they were out of carnitas and pollo asada – what kind of self-respecting burrito place runs out of carnitas??? They did not drain the pinto beans or chile verde properly, so I had a pretty damp burrito. The rice and beans were too heavily seasoned with cumin and oregano. The«hot sauce» wasn’t even hot. It was cheap, however! I have to guess with all the other burrito/taco stands around Monument, there HAS to be a better place. You’re better off making a «run for the border» at T-Bell.
