I am not one who generally writes reviews but I recently had such bad service with Dish Network I had to let folks know… I am being relocated with my work across the country and called Dish to suspend or cancel my service. I offered to provide a letter from my employer regarding the relocation and they told me they no longer worked with people who are relocating for work. They are charging me 324.00 to cancel. I was informed that I could suspend the account for 6 months but if I went beyond that, I would be charged the cancellation anyway. I was willing to try that but they would not let me return the equipment in the interim. I asked several other question to try to find a resolution or a comprise. I get that they don’t need to compromise but all that came out of their mouths were… policy this policy that. It is their right to be uncompromising but in a competitive landscape and a service oriented world, I was surprised and disappointed with their responses. Certainly they the least expensive player out there but I guess my lesson is you get what you pay for… in Dish Networks’s case… its called poor service, rude«executive» center personnel, and unreturned calls. I implore you to read other reviews of Dish before committing to anything with these guys. Don’t do it!

We were suddenly billed for 4VOD’s, ordered July 2010, April 2011, May 2011 and June 2011. We did not have our receiver hooked up to the internet until June 10, 2011. Suddenly on that date is when these 4VOD’s down loaded to our receiver. We had 48 hours to watch these VOD’s that we didn’t order! Do you see my issue? Common sense tells you that since these 4 items SUDDENLY down loaded, and that 1 from a year ago, that the customer had not ordered them. Oh, and yes, we have our receivers locked! YOUNEED A PASSWORDTOACESSTHEVOD’S!!! They have a glitch in their system, and they REFUSE to recognize/acknowledge it! Be WARNED!!! They will try to bill you for things you don’t order! We will be changing companies!!!
