Great deal. Friendly staff. You can’t beat premium coffee and hot bread for a buck. Clean premises. I think it says El Zocalo. I hope that I am not posting a review for the wrong establishment.

I have to say I am bias with my review, my grandparent owned the bakery. The new owner is great friends with my grandfather(who goes there everyday) has done a great job keeping the old recipes for the bread. My grandfather picked some up yesterday for a family bbq we were having and I am always thrilled when we get to have some :)

In a quest to find cuernos comparable to El Gallo I came here. I was not too happy. I got two cuernos based on the reviews and found them lacking. They weren’t dense, didn’t have a strong butter flavor and weren’t sweet. They tasted like regular bread and were a little burnt. I got some cookies and other pastries and everything was just average. The cream cheese pastry was really good but I wouldn’t come back for it. The cream empanada had a distinct chemical taste. Considering how there are a lot of great Mexican bakeries I wouldn’t come back.

I grabbed some bread at around 2:30pm & it was still very soft & fresh. You can smell the bread baking as you drive by it. :) The price was also great. $ 2 for 4 pieces. It is in «the hood» though, but that’s okay.

They deserve 10 stars!!! BEST, best, best Mexican bread EVER! Worth the drive and the risk of driving through the ghetto! You will not regret it and your stomach will thank you. We always leave there with bread for our whole family. Any bread that has pink is legit!

I’ve been coming here since I was 12 years old. I’m 29 now and I’m glad to say my kids are growing up on this. Best Mexican bread hands down. And I absolutely loooove the pumpkin bread they have here!

Looking for the best mexican pan dulce? Look no further. This is the place you have been looking for all your life. I have lived in and around Mexican neighborhood in Chicago, NYC, and all over the MidWest and nothing compares to the pan dulce from San Antonio panaderia. I do not know what sort of special recipes they have here but the bread is soft, sugary and full of happiness. Every time I visit home, I come and have the sugar conchas which are their best conchas. Come early on the weekend or wait in line!

Wow! They have the best Mexican bread in town hands down. We came around 7pm and the line was literally out the door in the rain. That is why we had to stop and see what was all the commotion about. This place is great and if you worried about the area… stop being a sissy this is «Emerica» great food is not always in the best areas.

This place has been around since before I was born. When I visit my Tia I like to get some bread and pastries from here. There are people here all day long. Everything is pretty fresh and I like it.

My first memories of San Antonio Bakery are rooted in the 1980s, but it’s been around since something like the 1960s. My parents remember going to this bakery when they were young! So, yes, my family would visit this family-owned panaderia for the conchas and this round, jelly topped pan. I don’t recall the name of that particular bread, but the best way to eat it was round and round until you reached the center, which you would devour in one big messy bite. On the recent visit, they did not have them on display. But I was glad to see they had cochitos, bolillo and lots of different types of cookies and muffins. Here, they also sell sodas, chips and a range of spices, like cinnamon, dried chili peppers, chamomile, bay leaves and oregano. They also sell dried fruits, nuts, candy and juice.

The best panaderia ever that’s been in the area forever. The Pan dulce is soo soft and reasonably priced. This stuff seriously makes converts out of people who thought they knew what good pan dulce was. It’s in the hood, so go during the day(and don’t give anyone any funny looks if you know what I mean). BRINGCASH.

I have loved this place since I was a kid. My grandma lived in the neighborhood and when we went to see her, we’d all walk over here and get a pan dulce. I don’t know what they do to the bread over here, but nothing compares to it. Everyone from around there knows it too. On any cold night, this place will have a line out of the door. The price is great, especially considering the quality. The service is decent and it would probably help to speak Spanish. There’s a very small lot to park in, but it might be tough. Maybe I am biased having grew up with this, but it really is the best pan dulce you can get in my opinion.
