Renee is pleasant. The salon is clean & nicely decorated. My appointment was at 10am. I arrived, she wasn’t there. At 11:49, I was under the dryer conditioning. I lost track of time after that. Renee did a poor job removing my kinks during blow dry time. Left me sitting for a period of time. I left. Never to return…

Where to start? My Lady has her hair done there by ‘The Vae’…what can we say? Shes the only person we trust with her hair. No matter what my Woman has done with her hair it always comes out great and looking beautiful. Shes even had work done by some of the braiders there and their work is fantastic also. The salon is well up-​kept and the mood there is happy and vibrant. There is always a lot of parking as there is both street and a parking lot on site and we’ve never had an issue with there being no parking, which really makes a difference when going to a salon because its just easier when everything is simply there and convenient. KBGHF is the salon! We will continue to use this salon as our ‘go to’ place for my Lady and her hair needs and wants.

It is unfortunate that I am giving them their first negative review.
I first came to know KBGHF via a sponsored post on Facebook. I «liked» them and have been keeping my eye out on their page. I have been with my current stylist for over 15 years, and I although I was reluctant to «cheat» on her, I was looking for someone else with more pizzazz than my current stylist. A couple of weeks ago, I had a friend who was looking to get her hair braided for an upcoming surgery, and I actually recommended Kinks be gone. My friend went and she reported back that she had a wonderful experience.(her hair looked great!)
Fast forward to today. I had an unexpected day off and wanted to get my hair done. I started to reach out to my current stylist when I remember KBGHF. I went online, found their website and made an appointment. I ended up actually making 2 because my first appointment was for ³⁄₁₈ and not ³⁄₁₇ the day I was off. So at 11a, m I received a call from them confirming my 3:30 appointment. The mentioned that 4pm would be better. Very easy to make an appointment online.
I arrive at 3:45 and I am greeted by Renee, the receptionist/​hair washer. She was extremely friendly as all of the ladies in the salon. I few patrons asked if it was my first time, and I said yes. One lady was actually using a stylist’s hairdryer. Although I thought it was odd, I was okay with it because everyone seemed to know everyone.
About 4:15 Renee sits me in a chair and preps me for washing my hair. She did a thorough job and I mentioned to her that I recommended the salon to a friend even though I had never been. She knew of my friend and we talked about her briefly while she washed and conditioned my hair. She seemed quite knowledgeable about healthy hair and she was pleasant to speak with.
After my wash and 20 min under the dryer for a condition treatment Renee blew-​dried my hair and sat me back under the dryer. Once that was completed, I was sat back in the waiting area. This was about 5 – 5:530pm.
And I sat… and Sat… and sat… There was one patron who was ahead of me. She had long natural hair and i knew it would be a minute. No worries. I was next. So I thought.
So about 5:45 a lady and a young girl came in. Everyone seems to know each other here, and I liked that. She and I sat on the bench until about 7:45. When The stylist I was waiting for said that she would be right with me AFTER she curls the ends of the hair of the lady who came in at 5:45. Meanwhile I am still WAITING. Like, you KNOW I am a NEW client, yet you take your friend in front of me? Like, who does that???
So about 8pm The stylist (I cannot remember her name) went outside with another stylist. I had been there since 3:45pm, my hair looks like I put my finger in a socket, and the stylist left. She returned at 8:15pm, when I promptly asked Renee how much I owed ($ 35 for a wash, condition, and blow dry) and I high-​tailed my booty up on out of there. 4.5 hours for a simple wash press and curl is absurd. I live in the community and wanted to give my business to a local owner, but y time is extremely valuable to me, and I have no time for shenanigans. After I paid Renee the $ 35, she asks me if I want to come back tomorrow? Why? to waste another 5 hours? Thanks, but no thanks.
Look, I understand I made a same-​day appointment, and maybe I caught them on an off day, but if you could not accommodate me, then please tell me. I would have adjusted my schedule accordingly. I will say that everyone was super friendly, the finished works looked AMAZING, but as a busy Mom, with limited time, I cannot waste 5 hours of my day sitting around waiting… and waiting. and waiting… getting passed over and waiting some more.

I was there today and was disgusted by the treatment. First all I get there at 4 30 when my appointment was at 5 30 so I figured the stylist would begin shortly but instead I sat there by 6 40 the stylist still hadn’t touch my hair the shampoo lady was and dried it for two hours to keep me busy while the stylist did other things. I w as actually ok until at 6 40 instead of starting my hair she the stylist left the salon to wash towels which took 2 hours. By 8 30 still sitting waiting fie. the stylist to begin my hair but she didn’t she stated someone else hair who walk in after me even tho by then I the there for four hours. When she finally start to do my hair she asked me to sit in the chair so she could finish a friend hair how rude was that? But what really threw me off is when the shampoo lady went to the liquor store and brought the stylist an alcoholic drink which the stylist begin to drink while drinking my hair. To my disgust I didn’t leave that salon until 11 pm and I was unhappy cau she she messed up my hair. I would advise anyone not to go there they are not professional at all. And they waste your time and money

It was a pleasant experience… RENEE did an awesome job on my hair… she was really careful since I have really short hair… definitely would return… I was really happy she took me with less than 24 hour notice… I had a funeral to go to at 1:00 and she finished in plenty of time for me to meet up with my family… Thank you Renee you are in my prayers!

TYNEECE truly has a passion for doing hair! They definitely encourage their clients to STAY AWAY from unhealthy products that damage your hair. Very gentle treatment… excellent results! TYNEECE conquered my coloring issues…

I was so impressed with this hair salon. The environment is relaxing and modern and the stylists are professional. I was looking for a salon that specializes in healthy hair and found this one through Instagram. My hair is not very easy to handle. It’s very thick and is not used to being tamed. De’asja Vae took her time washing, conditioning and straightening my hair. I also wanted to cut my hair to a healthier length and she helped me determine that length. I am so pleased with the results that I got. Bottom line, I would highly recommend this shop. I’m definitely going to be a regular ;)

My sister and I need to get our hair done for christmas, an appointment was made and we got delayed flying into town and missed it. After notifying the stylist, they worked us in the next day. Now i personally am trying to go natural (as much as possible). So i am always doing washing go’s. I have had bad experiences with other stylist. I have fine curly hair. Other stylist, blow-​dry it forever and tug, press my whole head, flat iron, and then sometimes curl. she knew exactly what to do, blew our hair out, and flat iron. It was quick, easy, everyone there is nice, and they listen. We left the shop and didn’t feel like our hair was abused.
We will be back, and we have already recommended the shop to all of our friends.

Always available when your in mood for some pampering for yourself. My go to shop for sure! Best press and flat iron I ever got! Getting slayed as I type this review. Never disappointed!
