Short Story: Poor communication, unreliable, might just be a temporary fluke. Long story: My employer was cleaning out excess ewaste and we came across this website offering to pick up the ewaste for free. We called on August 9th and booked a pick up for August 10th from 1:30 — 2:30 pm. August 10th, 1:30 rolls around and we hear nothing. 2:15 rolls around and we still haven’t heard anything, and are putting other smaller duties on hold until they arrive to address them. At 2:15 pm, my coworker calls them and speaks with Brian; the truck filled up and they’d have to put off the pick up until tomorrow. They had no intention of calling us to let us know, but we figure, «ok, these things happen. We’ll just take care of it tomorrow.» We schedule a pick up for August 11th from 9:00 — 11:00 am. August 11th, 9:28 am rolls around and we haven’t heard anything. I call the number provided and plan to speak to Brian: instead it goes to voice mail, so I leave a message. 10:28 am, I call again, and get a voice message option again. I find their 1 – 800 number and speak to a Mr. Jason Parr, who informs me that we are on the schedule and the pick-up truck is about 30 – 45 minutes away. I tell him it’s not a problem, so long as they’re here before 12:30 pm. I leave them my number so they can contact me directly. At 11:14 am, my coworker forwards me an email that they sent her saying, in short, that the trucks are having issues this week and they won’t be able to do a free pick up this week. Mr. Parr apologized and suggested we find another ewaste recycling service to help us as he was sure we were becoming frustrated at this point(he was right). Mr. Parr did take the initiative to let us know that things had not worked out and was kind enough to admit his fault, which is much to his credit. But the fact that communication was so poor and services undelivered… I can’t give them much more than 1 star. I might try their services again if their rating improves, but currently I am not impressed.

HORRIBLE! We used them for an Earth Day event during our LEED performance period for which their report of total pounds diverted was absolutely critical. The event was in April, and we were promised the report would follow. We have called and emailed repeatedly and sent a demand letter over three months and are always assured that it is a really simple report and they’re surprised it hadn’t come and would just take a moment, but it never comes. We are evaluating legal action as we paid them immediately after the event and they failed to follow through with the report. Very unprofessional, avoid at all costs.

Ecycle picked up some stuff from my home… love them! Very professional. I recommend this company to anyone who’s truly wants to recycle!

wow, it looks like the same situation i encountered has happened before! possible scam? or just really bad business man? I setup a service for Earth Day at the company i work for. i was referred to the company by a friend at another company. and the day before e-cycle was supposed to come pick up the crates, the rep(as the other reviewer calls him B, i will too) i had been working with on multiple phone calls and emails proceeds to tell me that this service has costs! i tried to tell the guy that i am on a budget at work and i cannot simply pay these costs without prior approval. i was accused of trying to «pull one over on him»… and guilt tripped constantly about the money the drivers were already losing because he was going to give me a special«referral rate». this rate, by the way, was NEVER mentioned to me in any way shape or form in phone conversations or emails before the service was set up. as i was doing an Earth Day event, and the person who referred me had done the same, i assumed the non-mention of costs meant that this was a non-profit org. providing a service to help people recycle e-waste correctly. this money his drivers were supposedly losing was a direct result of his lack of communication. if he had given me the proper service consultation i had asked for, then i would not have setup the service to begin with and no money would have been lost. the worst part about this entire situation was that B tried to make me feel like i was trying to con him… which couldn’t be farthest from the truth. and is an extremely poor way to run a business. i hope that future customers don’t receive this terrible treatment.
