Sweetie said we’d been here before, but I don’t remember it. Tea’s not really my thing, and though coffee is definitely her drink of choice she really likes tea too. Walking in, it smelled great. They had half a dozen teas going, to sample. We were greeted immediately and I braced myself for a hard sell, but it wasn’t too bad. They let us sample and made some suggestions, but didn’t push. There is a wide variety of pretty interesting flavors, and they had some nice teakettles and cups. I might have to keep this in mind for Christmas gifts, etc. If you’re into tea you should check this out.

Typical Teavana store. They brew their teas using way more than the recommended amount of leaves and add in their rock sugar to make it sweet. So of course the samples of amazing, but the product you buy to brew at home can be very hit or miss. I’ve never bought from this store, I always buy my teas from Teavana’s website, so I can’t comment on the quality of the teas at this store but I’m assuming they are the same as online. I wish this place had sales, or did a better job of advertising their very infrequent sales.

I bought my mom a tea set here a few years ago and went back today to get her some tea for her birthday. I will never set foot in this store again! When I walked in, there were five or six sales associates in the very small store and I was completely harrased the entire time I was looking around. I had to tell several of them about five times that I did not want any help but they just would not back off! I left without a gift for my mom and went shopping elsewhere.

I have to admit that I was worried about going into this place. I had heard from more than one person that they use aggressive sales techniques. I was so afraid that I would go out of my way to avoid the free samples. Before this week, I had only gone into Teavana once. In December, 2011, I purchased a tea set for my niece. The tea set was much prettier and no more expensive than a «play tea set» at the toy store. She continues to enjoy tea with her dolls. This week, at the recommendation of a coworker, I overcame my fears in order to purchase the supplies needed to create my own Chi Latte recipe. Deciding to live on the edge, I not only entered but walked in 15 minutes before close. I honestly expected the cold shoulder. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Hong B. and Brian L. were very friendly and helpful. I explained to Hong what I was attempting to do. She made a few recommendations but was never pushy. I immediately told her that I wanted the Breville Milk Café(steamer and frother) which I had researched online and the Perfect Tea Maker which my coworker raves about. While Brian went to the back to gather these items, Hong allowed me to taste the tea that was brewed and smell others. I decided on 2 ounces each of three different Chi teas varying in the amount of caffeine. The tea ranged in price from $ 2.40 to $ 6.00 for 2 ounces. The accessories were the same price as on Amazon. Because I’m still relatively new to the vast world of tea, I don’t know how the quality compares which is the reason for my four star rating. I will say, however, that I intend to go back thanks to the service that I received.

How did I just get finagled into spending $ 5.25 on a glass of iced tea?! I’ll not soon return to this pretentious, ridiculous place.

Visited this place on 09/10/1011(I forgot my Review was in Draft mode) Although the tea that I bought was good, I am not happy with the lies that were given to me, just to make a sale. While on business in Ohio, I bought one of their updated their Stainless Steel Insulated Tumbler, because I was told that«it will stay real hot for up to six hours». Within one hour when I arrived at my hotel room, the tea was very cold. I called them and I was told to prep it again, in warm water and then prep the tea as usual… The same results. I felt I was lied to, so they could just make the sale. The young girls working at the Dublin, Ohio Teavana were trained very well in sales, because I was fooled!!! This rating is for their customer service and their teas are overpriced, but I continue to drink their tea, so shame on me!!!

I purchased the Six Summits Oolong tea while in Ohio on business. I commented several times on how it seems to be almost all raspberries than what I remembered from my previous purchases in MO, MI and online. When I returned home to Michigan, I compared it to my stock and as expected, Teavana is having their customers pay a premium price for raspberries with hardly any Oolong tea! This is a ripe off and dishonest!!! I wrote to the company to see how they will handle this issue. As an update, I am yet waiting for a reply from the Tevana Management Team regarding my complaint. Be VERY careful on what you purchase at Tevana. I paid for premium tea and did not get it. The proof is in the pictures.

Only for true tea afficiandos. I like teavana. but I think they try to make a little too much on tea accessories. I think they want a bit too much for those metal tins as well. Great service… mostly… I especially like that they will brew up several tasters of the teas which allow me to go for some obscure tea variety without fear. What I didnt like was that the rep that I dealt with hadnt tried the flavors that I wanted. Its always nice for me, when there is a resident expert in a shop I can rely on.

I am open to a possible second review, but for now my first impression is not a positive one. I had never heard of Teavana until about a week ago. Since I am not a mall-goer, I suppose they slipped by my radar. I found through their on-line store that they carry a «Thai» tea. I have been looking to recreate the amazing flavor of Thai iced tea at home. Instead of ordering on-line, I wanted to try and pick it up locally by first searching at asian markets. Not too much luck there, so I thought I go up to Teavana’s Polaris Fashion Place location to see if they carry the blend they have on-line. The sales associate was very friendly. I told her what I was trying to find and she was positive that their tea was the answer. She then proceeded to go through the sales pitch and inform me how they sell the tea. Teavana does not put their loose leaf tea into bags to take home, but instead you have to buy one of their canisters. Then you bring the canister back when you are ready to buy more. I have no problem with that concept. I was opting to go with the smaller sized canister, because I have never had their tea previously and didn’t know if I’d ever be willing to drive to a mall just to purchase my tea. The sales woman really tried to sell me on the larger size–«are you sure it’s only $ 1 more and you get 10% off every time you come back to refill it». However, I swear I never recall her mentioning the actual price for the tins. She got a bit too pushy, which is an instant turn-off for me. I assure her that I indeed did want the smaller tin. I was surprised when my total came to $ 15 for 3 oz of tea. I went ahead with the purchase, but as soon as I was out of the store, I grabbed my receipt out of the bag to find that the tea was $ 8.59(which I am not complaining about), but the tin was $ 7.00. I think I misunderstood the concept. So I took my tea home, looking forward to finally having this yummy Thai treat at my fingertips. What I was assured was Thai tea was not even close. I could even get past that fact if the tea were good, but it is not. It tastes synthetic and perfumy. I am really disappointed and feel duped. I’ll stick to buying organic loose-leaf tea from the Clintonville Co-op, where I know it is good and I don’t have to take out a small loan to stay in tea for a week.

I have to admit that I wanted to love Teavana after reading the reviews on Unilocal.Upon visiting, I realized that I simply liked the store. What I felt would be an inevitable five-star review dropped to a not-too-shabby four-star rating. I dug all of the lovely tea pots, cups, warmers(!) and other tea-related accessories. They were a little pricey for me, but they would make a nice gift. Their selection of loose-leaf teas was duly impressive. I’m a big tea fan, and my mind was blown. I can imagine Teavana opens a whole new world for folks whose tea experience is limited to Lipton and the occasional Earl Grey. Oh, and I loved the store’s side-by-side comparison of their whole loose-leaf tea with Lipton’s powdery tea. Unsurprisingly, my favorite part was the tea samples. I tried some and loved the opportunity to sample some interesting varieties.

I was excited when I traveled to Easton earlier this summer and saw«Coming Soon! Teavana!» and thought this might be the home of a new tea salon. Unlike Michael U., I had never heard of Teavana before. I was a little disappointed when I finally made it to Easton after they opened, only because of what I was expecting. They do offer samples of their tea, so that lifted my spirits a little. Teavana is actually just a place to buy loose leaf tea and tea accessories. It was more the accessories part that drew me in more than anything else. I’m a sucker for really nice things that involve drinking in some fashion. Stemware, mugs, beer steins, and tea pots are no exception. And all the pots both ceramic and glass that I viewed was reasonably priced. One of the sales associates must have noticed I was paying special attention to the wares and was impressed that someone might possibly know what they were looking for. For a Saturday evening at Easton, this particular store was packed with High School Students who were taking up space more than providing a customer base. The guy who talked to me was polite and ready to pass on knowledge. I’m excited that a place like Teavana exists at Easton now, but I can’t rate this place any higher until I buy the tea and try it at home myself.

What once was a dream is now a reality. I first experienced this store in Orlando, then Vegas, then Cleveland and fell in love each time. A myriad of flavors flown in from across the globe, relatively well educated staff, and prices that although high are much more reasonable than local tea houses in many cities. The sampling of 4 – 5 teas on each visit is a mere bonus. Although I’m certain it is not the case, I’d like to think I had something to do with Teavana coming to Columbus as I’ve been requesting the store via E-mail somewhat regularly since I first saw the store at Beachwood in Cleveland while visiting my sister… and now I have yet another reason to spend some free time at Easton. Sure, my wallet and the Cup O’ Joe will suffer a little, but that is a small concern. :-) Snow Geisha and Jasmine Oolong… perfect.
