The food was not very good, nor hot. The omelet was probably the worst I’ve ever had and the grits were bitter and lacked any flavor.

I was sadly disappointed. Came in by myself and was sat in the first mini booth by the hostess station. My waitress was rude and short. She commented that she had already been there for 6 hours, and was ready to go home. I ordered the breakfast tacos, because I love chirozo. I should have just ordered a salad with a little egg. I asked the waitress to check, because I was sure there wasn’t any sausage at all, as there was very little egg. She looked right at the plate and said«yeah, it’s fine». Let’s just say, out of the 4 tacos, I ate two. She never came back to ask for a coffee refill or to refill my water. Something else that also bothered me was that when staff needed to get something from the hostess station, let would literally stand in my booth. I faced the door and they would step up(or knee up) into the booth, over the wall, to get things from the hostess stand instead of walking around. I understand that I was a single, at a booth, but still– no reason for that level of poor service. Edited in response to the manager: It wasn’t that they didn’t respect the space of my booth, but it’s was unprofessional and quite frankly. rude. If I hadn’t been sitting alone, they obviously wouldn’t have done it and they would have taken the three extra steps to get to the basket on the other side of the partition.

I wish I could rate this a 0, also! Our wait time was twice as quoted on a Sunday AM. There were at least 6 clean tables at all times not being seated. The hostess was missing for about 10 minutes, then a hard working host/busboy was attempting to seat a table but did so out of order. When a manager finally appeared to the hostess stand after a 25 minute wait for 3 people and we had been quoted 15 minutes, I asked her if there was a problem. She rudely proceeded to inform me that the kitchen was backed up and she couldn’t tell me if we would wait 30 – 60 minutes for our food once we sat down. She stated she was only concerned with serving drinks at that time to seated customers. All the customers in the lobby needed was a little communication and maybe we would have been a little more understanding. We left and won’t return!!!

Under staffed on a Saturday morning. Biscuits and gravy were not that great… gravy wasn’t bad it was the biscuits. They sent out the wrong pancakes for my son, he ordered chocolate chip, they sent buttermilk. To remedy they brought out a dish of chocolate chips. He was not pleased, nor was I.

This is one of those places you enjoy going to that offers good food, reasonable prices, without the pretentious attitudes. I’ve been there twice now and each time the food and service were top rate. Everyone is very cheerful and friendly and the convenience of being across from my office is wonderful. On my first trip I had the ½ Grilled Cheese sandwich and tomato bisque soup, for such a simply comfort meal it was excellent. This week I had the glazed bacon with pimento cheeseburger with fries, once again I was completely surprised by something as homey and comfortable as this meal was. I’ll defiantly return often.

Our office had Sunny Street breakfast catered and it was perfect! Delicious burritos and breakfast sandwiches, mixed pastries and a fruit tray. Everyone was happy with the selection and Maria made the ordering process super easy! Highly recommend.

Walk ins welcome… to sit for 40 minutes! Got here at 11:30 and were told we would have to wait 20 minutes which is cool, I know it’s a Sunday and there’s a rush. So 40 minutes later we are still waiting to be seated and have watched literally every person who walked in after us get seated. Clearly this place has never been open on a Sunday before because I’m sure they would have been prepared for this. Luckily there were a ton of places to go eat right down the road who were ready for us!

Wish I could rate 0. I work in the arena district and was happy to be close to the restaurant since I really enjoy the Westerville location. On four separate occasions I called ahead to order carry out. I generally wait the amount of time told when ordering then walk over. Not once was my order ready, twice it was not even started. Each time there was something wrong with my order for example given a wrap on regular rather than spinach wrap with tomatoes when I asked for none or a bloody hamburger that was ordered well done. I once hunted down the manager who made a joke when I stated I was going to be late for a meeting since I was already waiting for my food for 20 minutes, it arrived five minutes later with no apology. As soon as I walked into the café around 7am this morning, the hostess/waitress rudely asked, «what do you want.» I was talking on the phone with a friend since we were meeting up there. She rudely interrupted my conversation multiple times to impatiently ask«what do you want!!!» She kept harassing me to order and I felt so uncomfortable that I just left the establishment. Never going back again. Don’t need breakfast with a huge side of attitude and sass. No thank you!

Sunny Street Café is pretty much your average franchise breakfast restaurant. Not necessarily a bad thing, but pretty average in all aspects. I frequent this Arena District because of its close proximity to my apartment. It’s not a very«trendy» brunch spot, so it’s never too packed and there is seemingly always an open table available. As opposed to other brunch options in the nearby Short North, the interior is spacious and comfortable. The noise level is appropriate and the foot traffic is minimal. The service is excellent at this location. The handful of times i’ve dined here, I’ve always been asked whether I want a coffee to go. The waitstaff is courteous and efficient. On to the things that lead to the 3-star rating. The food is just okay. Think Denny’s, but more expensive and with smaller portions. While the smaller portions may be healthier, for $ 10, i’m expecting a more hearty breakfast. It would be nice to see more breakfast scrambles/skillets. I was looking for something served over hash browns, but there was only one item called«loaded hash browns.» The good thing is that Sunny Street Café does seem to have a lot of salads and vegetarian options. Anyways, Sunny Street Café is a good breakfast option if you want to avoid the weekend brunch crowd. The service is good and the food is decent, albeit not very exciting.

Super busy on a Sunday morning. Clean place, friendly staff. I’m not a fan of having to pay to park, but it’s a reasonable price for the time of day. Food is very fresh, but nothing extraordinary. French Toast lacks a little flavor and the breakfast chorizo tacos barely had any chorizo in them. I would definitely return and try ordering something different.

Great breakfast, friendly service. I had the breakfast sandwich and was pleasantly surprised that there was plenty of bacon on it and it was a decent size(I was expecting something the size of an English muffin). My husband got the french toast crunch and it was also good. We were able to easily find parking and there was no wait to get seated. All in all, it was a great breakfast!

This was one of the only breakfast places open on labor day. I had heard good things, but as I heard the host say that they were staffed I should have known. I think the kitchen and wait staff was short. Having worked in the industry for many years I tried to be understanding, but there are only so many things you can let slide. First– our(3 of us) quote time was appropriate, although would could have been sat much sooner had there been a full staff. There were 5 visible dirty tables, some of which were never touched while we were there. Next– we were sat in the same section as the group of 4 that was before us. Our server greeted us and wanted our drink order, although we were ready to order as well. Her other table ordered chocolate milk which I’m assuming they make, as that table’s drinks took a while, which made ours even longer. We each ordered water and another drink, I know, servers’ biggest annoyance, but it was hot out. Our waters came, in dirty glasses. There was residue all over the outside of the glass, which wouldn’t be a big deal, but we weren’t given straws either. Since we ordered at the same time as our drinks I expected our food in a timely manner, not so much. I ordered the big bite breakfast. My over easy eggs were very easy… as in the whites were not cooked all the way. I was only able to eat one of them. My boyfriend ordered french toast, when it was delivered we asked the manager for syrup, which he did not bring. We asked the serve, who took some to the table next to us, then walked by our table 4 more times before bringing ours. As we finished up, we stacked our plates and moved them to the end of the table. She asked how our check was split(it was all together) and i asled for a coffee, which she offered a to go cup. She made a few more trips passed our table and then brought the coffee, with the lid off, almost spilling it. When we got the check my boyfriend put his credit card in the presenter, which was returned and pushed towards my brother. During this time there was a table of 2 sat next to us. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge them. When they were acknowledged, it was by another server(it was obvious it was not her section). Our server hovered over that table while the other server took their order. It was an awkward interaction to say the least. The food was decent… from what I could eat Out service was lackluster. I will not be returning most likely.

This place had real potential… the coffee was good. However, if an establishment boasts a GF menu your wait staff & kitchen should be properly trained on such. Went for breakfast with my family & specifically asked for the GF menu. Felt safe not useing my triumph cards because they offered a GF menu– RIGHT??? What a complete and total disaster! My food arrived in a wheat wrap :-(with a side of toast. Are you kidding?! Sent my order back only to wait an additional 30 minutes for my «redone» order. I ended up asking for a to-go-box because we needed to leave for the airport. We only received a $ 3.00 discount from our $ 72.00 plus bill for the mucked up. ASANADDEDBONUS I suffered the worst bout of cross contamination in years! I know some people have made the GF diet«a thing» BUT for people who truly suffer from Celiac Disease it’s not a fad. There is nothing better than using the airport bathroom several times before boarding & then locking yourself in the airplane latrine for the duration of our flight. #sodisappointed #callingmygastro

How long must I stand in the lobby waiting for a table? I’m the only one waiting and workers are looking at me and ignoring me. Just left! Westerville location.

I’m no native to Ohio, and haven’t been there until now. For the few days I spent there, Sunny Street Café was the only place that I ate at for breakfast. The first time I walked off the rainy streets of Ohio into the building I felt right ease. The staff are gracious hosts to anyone looking for a well rounded meal. They are well trained to make the process of getting the food from the kitchen to you snappy and efficient. The restaurant is the perfect walking distance from the Hilton and the Hyatt.

Nothing that impressed me. Good to go to if you are in the area and need fuel. I did like the pancakes and the service was so so. I wouldn’t drive out of the way to go and eat there.

Can’t really complain here. I stop by here on a pretty regular basis around lunch time. I’ve never received any bad food. I’m a big fan of the board walk club, southwest turkey club, and the long lost Angus burger with an egg on top. Really good prices for the amount of food you get too. Especially good prices for the Arena District area. As some have mentioned, the service is so-so/hit or miss. I’ve been here and had great on top of it service and I’ve been here and had slow, never check back with you service. It’s usually worth it though unless you have an appointment to be at. Overall, stop by and give it a try.

Whether you are planning to eat healthy, or enduldge, this IS a great place to eat! I’m so happy I found this place! I will be a regular patron from now on when in Columbus on travel! Even if the food wasn’t awesome, but it is, I would eat here just because the staff is so friendly and the place is SPOTLESS!!! My waitress(Maggie K) was very nice and attentive, frequently asking if I needed anything, but not so frequent that it was annoying. Her timing was spot on! She was genuinely a nice person, not fake. I had the power breakfast that has turkey sausage and swapped the wheat toast for sourdough. My food came out quickly and was served hot. I was very tempted to try other, less healthy options but while on travel it is so easy to eat unhealthy so it is great to have a place that offers healthier menu selections. They are only open for breakfast and lunch(6:00 am to 2:30 pm). So, whether you’re an early riser or late sleeper, they serve breakfast all day for all you breakfast lovers. Right down the street from my other favorite, and recently reviewed, BD Mongolian BBQ! DONTMISSOUTONTHISDOWNTOWNGEM!

My husband and I are regulars here. We are here every weekend morning, some weekends both days. The food is always fantastic, the servers are hit and miss though. We have servers we prefer, they’ve gotten to know us & our order, which is kind of cool. Never imagined I’d be a regular somewhere at 24 lol. The ladies are very friendly & will try to make your visit perfect. If there is any tiny thing wrong, they will do everything to fix it & make you feel like the only customer. I understand they recently went through a management change, so I can’t speak for current management as I’ve been out of town the past few weekends. However, previous management was great, Kevin made it a point to learn my husband & I’s names and always come say hi when we came in. It was a nice feeling for this little restaurant to care about its customers. Now the fun part– the food! The food is ALWAYS on point! I don’t know what kind of sorcery is going on in that kitchen, but I’ve never had bad food come out of it. I generally get the big bite breakfast, with fruit instead of meat(being vegetarian & all) & hash browns or I get the French toast & they are both always great. The French toast crunch is amazing, and the regular French toast is great too. My husband gets the veggie omelette with feta & he loves it. It’s about the only thing he ever orders. The hash browns are a MUST when dining here. They are 100x’s better than Waffle House!

Tasty breakfast place right in the heart of downtown Columbus. During my numerous visits there, the food has always been pretty great(the French toast crunch is delicious) while the service is hit-or-miss. For example, the last time I was in, I found a black short hair in my veggie omelette, and I overheard the manager making apologies to numerous tables surrounding us for lackluster service… Overall, a solid breakfast if you are willing to deal with potentially sub-par service.

I arrived on a queit Monday morning, greeted quickly and sat. Ordered the breakfast tacos. Food was ok, warm but not steaming hot. I could have made it better at home. Glad this wasnt my Yolo meal and I had a free entrée coupon. I was disappointed because of the unprofessional cooks with their friends at the counter and in the kitchen. Not sure if its part of the culture in the restaurant. Server was great.

Must get the pancakes! They are huge(size of the plate) and you get 3 in a stack. The whole wheat are to die for and have a cinnamon flavor that is yummy! I also got a green smoothie which was perfect! My hubby ordered an omelette which was on the smaller size but tasty none the less. We came in a Sunday morning and it wasn’t too busy. As it was a summer morning we sat outside and it was perfect! A great place downtown. I highly recommend!
