relatively cheap, full bar, the alley is relatively new so plenty of balls, lanes and couches are nice. score keeping computers have a lot of functionality. they have a touchtunes jukebox. i’m going to stick with my checkin note and say that i do not believe the lanes are regulation length, they seemed a lot shorter than normal.

I would probably give this place a 3 and a half if I could. First time going didn’t know what to expect. Walk in and right off the bat the atmosphere is fun and exciting. The place is huge large arcade large dining and bar area one bad thing is the wait to bowl was very long so we just had dinner. The food was okay not bad not really good. The way the bowling lanes where set up looked awesome huge tvs at the end. I will be going back to bowl but will likely eat elsewhere.

My son and I went on a Friday night. The service was pretty slow but the food was ok. My son hated the flatbread pizza. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was pretty delicious. We ordered pretzels and cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were good, the pretzels were burnt. We wanted to bowl but it would have been $ 80 for two people to bowl for 2 hours. That was just too much. Don’t think I would probably go again.

We stopped in with a party of 13(7 kids under the age of 9). We had lunch while we waited for our lane and the service and food were both great. The two youngest kids(age 3) were scared by the adults bowling, dressed as wolves. Like, full out wolf costumes. When we went to purchase our bowling shoes, the two youngest ones said they didn’t want to bowl anymore because they were scared of the wolves. The young lady at the front desk offered us a lane in the VIP room so that they could enjoy bowling without going near«the wolves.» They are currently enjoying bowling and very pleased with the accommodation and service here! Thank you!

Arrived at 815pm departed at 1145pm I see a lot of people were complaining about the service of the staff. Not sure what they are talking about but today the service was A1! They were busy so we had about an almost 2 hour wait to bowl. We choice to eat and talk. Figured some people would drop off and they did. As soon as we were done eating our Lane was ready. The lighting was just right for a Saturday evening. A few young kids there but they were well behaved. I had the mushroom Swiss burger. Was okay. Could have had more seasoning on the burger patty itself. Fries were good, boneless wings are top notch. Not all that excessive breaking like other places(Applebee’s). My wife and her friend ordered a pizza also. That was pretty good. The lanes and seating was ready nice. Clean, large and firm leather couches. The servers also come there too if you want drinks or food. Got my extra drinks and they checked on me just often enough to where it wasn’t overbearing and annoying. I enjoyed the more adult based atmosphere. They have private VIP lanes that are isolated from the public lanes which is pretty dope. I will be honest, this place is more expensive then most at $ 40 an hour per lane but it is worth it to me. Not a traditional lay out with basic food, 80s carpet and dirty bathrooms. This is a modern bowling alley better then the rest. I paid a premium fee for a premium place. I will be coming back.

Great fun for a day out. The food is good, the lanes are clean, and the game area is perfect for little ones. We always have a good time here and the staff is great. Throw in a groupon deal and you can’t beat it.

Not impressed. This place is expensive($ 40/hour to bowl + $ 3.95/person for shoes). We had a groupon for games and food so we wanted to bowl and play games before we ate but they made us eat and pay before they would give us the $ 10 game card that was part of the Groupon. The service in the bar was super slow — we waited over 10 minutes for anyone to take our order. My steak salad was ok but I ordered the steak medium and it came out well done and it had chopped up french fries on it(not in the description, maybe used instead of croutons?) Waited another 10 minutes for the check and then the server wanted to take my phone to the manager to redeem the Groupon. We won’t be going back.

I bought a groupon for Star Lanes and we just redeemed it for an amazing date night! I am a fitness fanatic and they made my burger on a lettuce bun(I was shocked at how easy it was to ask for and how perfectly executed it was!). The staff was on top of it and tended to us throughout our adventure. After dinner and drinks we played in the game room and had a blast! Not only did we(mid 20s females) get SUPER into the terminator shooting game, but an amazing man there(worker) let us try this amazing experience game where the seats moved and it felt like we were in the ride! The guy talked to us throughout our adventure and I wish so badly we would have gotten his name. He was amazing! We will definitely be returning. So much fun!

Update: We were invited back. We chose to go in on a Thursday evening. The service was spectacular, very friendly and attentive. Bowling was fun, we were excited to get another opportunity to do something all together. Drinks were all great for those who ordered a classy cocktail and we really enjoyed the Mac n’ cheese bites! Thanks for having us back, we will surely be in again!

Only the fanciest bowling alley I’ve ever been to! This place was laid out; easy to find, right off the freeway. Plush, couch seating at the lanes, and a full bar! There are VIP rooms and a huge open space that makes a great dance floor. The very upgraded arcade offers«e-tickets» put back onto the card. Very very fun, and great for both adults and kids. Full screen videos on the lanes make this a fun and colorful place to bowl. Will definitely revisit.

I’ve never been to a bowling alley like this before. Granted, I don’t go bowling very often, but over the years, I’ve been to quite a few lanes, and this place was unexpected. Upon arriving it looks to be a normal, albeit newer, bowling alley, but once I was inside, I felt like I just hit the club. I’m not sure if it’s always like this during the day, or if the mood lighting sets in at night time, but they had a dance floor and everything. Star Lanes offers a pretty solid arcade with most of the games you’d come to expect if you have been to any Magic Mountain or arcade in the past five years, and they have two sides to bowl on. The far side off to the left only has about six lanes, and it looks more like a private area. I will say that for a bowling alley, they don’t have that many lanes on the main floor. Compared to places like Columbus bowling palace, it seemed small in that regard. We sat at one of the tables off from the bar and had pretty great service. I ended up getting the chicken quesadilla, which was very tasty, and the potato skins, which were pretty average. They have some great late night food deals(I think half off all apps after 9 pm), so we took advantage of that. Later on in the night when we moved to the bar, the service was not quite as stellar. It was busy, but after sitting there for about 15 minutes without any service, I got up and went to the back bar. I’m not really sure the deal here as they had a crazy amount of bartenders and barbacks on, and the bar wasn’t even full at the time. Overall, if I ever plan a bowling date night, this would be the place I go. It’s way up at Polaris, however, so I won’t be frequenting it often. They are right off the exit, so you really don’t have to fight too much traffic. Unlike most other bowling alleys I’ve been to, I didn’t feel like I was stepping back into the 70s when I went in, so that was pretty neat. The times are changing!

This place is quite interesting in terms of what is has to offer. The front entry/lounge area looks like an upscale hotel, the arcade looks like Magic Mountain, and the bowling areas look like night clubs. The whole place was very clean, spacious, and modern. I was impressed with all the technology available in the bowling alley and all the fun stats it reads off while your playing ie. «Johnny bowled that one at 16mph». Since I went at night during an adults only event– I imagine my experience was slightly skewed as to what it’s normally like. I don’t know if putting a bar by an area where lots of kids are hanging out is genius or foolish. I know if I go out for drinks, kids are the last thing I want to see/hear/smell. But since this is in the suburbs– they’re probably catering to parents rather than 20-somethings. It was a fun time, but I probably wouldn’t make the trek from downtown Columbus to Polaris just for this.

I have gone here on a few occasions and I’ll pull from these three occasions for my review because all were with different crowds: date night with my wife, guys night with friends, and a family night with our children and friends. First off, this place is not for the serious bowler. Actually, I love the concept of this entertainment venue. It feels like a swanky bowling alley and reminds me of two places I used to go: one near Baltimore and one in DC. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere feels upscale, much more than your average bowling alley. I appreciate the selection of draft beers, the food selection, the choice between the bowling alley and the Dave and Buster’s-style arcade(games for both kids and adults), and the waiter/waitress service on the lanes. Giant big-screen TVs above the bowling lanes and lack of lighting can be a bit distracting, but I can live with that. Monday special: $ 2 shoe rental, $ 2 bowling games, $ 2(select!!) drafts, and $ 2(select!!) appetizers. I don’t remember seeing the specifics on those Monday special apps and drafts on the website, so we were a bit surprised to find that there were only two $ 2 apps and I am not sure what the $ 2 drafts referred to, because ours were $ 2.50-$ 3.50, even after we brought it to our waiter’s attention — he told us he was unaware that they were more than $ 2. Still fairly cheap for good beer so I accepted it and didn’t complain. The lanes are well-kept and the computer scoring is top notch with lots of novelty options like graphics, putting your picture on screen, and other things. Great for a family night or for just goofing around with friends.(you can even post to facebook if you’re logged in on their system…) I also love the jukebox that you can control from your smartphone app«Rockbot». Sweet. My only real complaint comes with the new sign that was posted this last time I went in. The sign tells me that they’ve installed new pinsetters and therefore, HIGHLY recommend against using your own bowling ball. Apparently, their pinsetters will ruin your bowling ball… I confirmed this with our waiter, who advised against us using our own as well. They have decent balls there to use, but for the serious bowler, this is a dealbreaker! At least I can still bring my own bowling shoes? To wrap up, if I’m going out for a night of messing around with friends, my wife, or my kids, sure I’d go here again(especially for the Monday special!) But this is not a place for serious bowling and I can appreciate that to a certain extent. But if I was running a bowling alley, I’d be sure to have machines that wouldn’t ruin a bowler’s bowling equipment.

We had SO much fun at Star Lanes — we were there for a private event and got to bowl in the private room which was awesome! We tried a couple of appetizers and the spinach dip was out of this firkin word, I still dream about it! We really enjoyed the games as well, there was a fun combination of «ticket» and arcade games. Our 6 year old bugs us all of the time to go back. Which we will :)

A great place for all! None of that musky, smokey smell that come from old bowling ally’s. It’s clean, has good food, a bar for 21+, and an arcade.

I attended a VIP event here, and it was fantastic! We got to go into the VIP room, and I was surprised at the size of it! It would definitely hold a party of 100 people easily! The VIP room also has bowling lanes, so it’s definitely something you can use for a corporate or team building event. The only downside to the bowling was that the bumpers didn’t work at first. We were also provided with a buffet, which was pretty good. It had Macaroni bites, chicken nuggets, and pizza on the buffet. the Macaroni bites and pizza were really delicious, but the chicken was overcooked. The also had a few side dishes, such as Onion rings and soft pretzels. I am a fan of onion rings, so I got a few, but didn’t go further than the first bite due to the seasoning they use on them. We also were given some free arcade cards. I ended up only playing a few games, but I must say, their arcade is really nice. One of the games that I played was a first person shooter game, and it was really nice to have a properly calibrated gun! My curser wasn’t a foot higher than where I was pointing my gun! There was only 1 game that was out of service while we were there. It really seems like they take the time to properly maintain their games, and that’s a big plus. My only complaint(and reason I wouldn’t go back unless I had a really good discount) Is the price. It’s very expensive to bowl here, eat here, drink here, etc. I mean, my husband and I paid $ 15 for 2(2!) small Amaretto Sour drinks that were mostly ice. If they dropped prices some, I would probably return. Despite that, this is a really nice, well maintained place, and would make a great outing for families, businesses, and friends.

Beautiful Location and Décor. Bumpers on lanes are problematic and do not a lot of times without getting service tech.(not the first time happening here) Staff is good, but not as friendly as you would like. Food: Chicken was over cooked, and Pizza crust is very bad. Mac and Cheese bites, Pretzel Sticks, and Spinach Dip are great! Drinks were good, but they are overpriced, but I guess that comes with the location. Not a great selection of arcade games, but good. 80% of them worked/operated properly… which unfortunately is standard anymore at most arcade…:( We met the owner he was very nice. Will come again. Pro Tip: if you are looking to waste 5 minutes are so, then give them your name and email and they will give you $ 5 game card free

1⁄3 bowling alley + 1⁄3 arcade + 1⁄3 sports bar = Star Lanes. I definitely wasn’t disappointed by it, but I also wasn’t feeling omg-I-need-come-again. I feel like if I wanted to go bowling, I’d go to Sawmill Lanes; if I wanted to play arcade games, I’d go to Dave and Busters; and if I wanted to go to a sports bar, well, I have plenty to choose from. All in all, it’s still a cool place to check out, and definitely a good place to go if you’re bringing the whole family because of the variety of things to do.

Came here for the 1st time on Sunday and had a blast! $ 25 per hour for bowling is not that bad(does not include shoe rental). The facility is in great condition. The shoes too. My kids had so much fun. They told me I was the best mom ever for taking them here. I got to watch the Cleveland Browns game while we bowled(Dawg Pound!) on a huge projector?(not sure if that is the correct terminology) screen. They also had the Bengals game on for all you Cincinnati fans(BOO!). The server was very attentive and told us if we needed anything to please let him know. The arcade was ok. Not very big though. I will say, that their machines with the claw that you can win balls/stuffed animals out of worked very well. Most places(heck, almost all) rig them so you almost never win, but not here. We walked out of there with about 10 balls and 8 stuffed animals which truly put huge smiles on my kids faces. They went home and had a stuffed animal party and bowled with the balls(they used cups for the pins lol). We will be back!

I think the term«bowling alley» is a misnomer. While there’s a decent number of lanes here, it’s really more of an entertainment hub than just a bowling alley. Star Lanes Polaris has a very nice bar /restaurant area with great options for lunch or dinner, They also have a lot of attractive food specials too. There’s a really nice arcade here. They have a large number of games there that you can play for tickets and redeem for prizes. I’ve got my eye on that remote controlled helicopter at just 29,700 points. I figure I’m going to get that prize by playing one of my all-time my favorite arcade games… Skee Ball! They’ve also got a VIP Lounge with separate lanes, a private bar and dedicated restrooms for company /private events which is how I heard about it with the Unilocal Elite event last month. One last thing, it’s a newer place so it doesn’t have that stale cigarette funk that most bowling alleys have. A definite plus for us non-smokers.
