We received a gift card for Christmas and decided to use it soon because they are closing, It has been about 10 years from our last visit. I know why we have not visited and why they are closing. The service was good. The steak dinners were not even as good as The Outback Steak House. My wife’s steak was so bad that she could not eat it. The $ 44.00 was removed from our bill. Great Job by the manager. Over priced for the quality. It is not a Hyde Park. If you have a gift card use it quickly or go to another location.

My first time ever at this place. I like steak so my date said he would take me to his favorite restaurant. And man, this sure has been my best steak experience in Columbus! Unfortunately this location will be closing in two weeks as they are selling the building, our waiter, Kumar said they are looking for a prime downtown location to be built within the next year. So sad as the food is AMAZING! Our waiter Kumar was so friendly and informative and treated us like royalty. We ordered shrimp in an orange sauce and stuffed mushrooms with crab meat. My first time eating stuffed mushrooms and i am in love! For dinner my date ordered me the Bone –in cowboy rib eye. I ordered it medium as the plate it is served on comes out at 400 degrees so if you can literally let it sit on the plate and cook. It was perfect. I could cut it with my fork. The largest most juiciest piece of meat i have had. So so so in love! My date ordered the stuffed chicken which is stuffed with goat cheese, it was beautiful and tasted great. We ordered sides to share of scalloped potatoes and yam casserole. Wow, it was like putting candy to my mouth– so amazing! I didn’t even need steak sauce. Steak was perfectly seasoned. I would recommend ask for extra butter, it makes it more juicy. Their bread is fabulous as well. And instead of lemons in water they had oranges, i thought that was cool! I am so sad they will be closing, for a while, i already want more!

Ruth Chris is closing next month They claim to be relocating to Cleveland Ohio. I’m going to miss their lamb chops, salmon, chicken and mac and cheese. I’m not so much a fan of their steak or their mashed potatoes. Their drinks are decent as well. Parking was a little crunched most times I went; however, somtimes it was adequate. The restaurant is beautiful inside and dress code is classy and sophisticated. The customer service has always been great there! I’m kind of going to miss this restaurant because I have some cool memories there.

I love the service here. From the minute you step in the door to the time you leave you are treated right. The filet Is the best I’ve ever had. The pricing is on the high side but that is to be expected for this type of place. My biggest complaint is the desert menu is not up to par with the food.

I ate here years ago and remember it being kind of stuffy. I didn’t remember the quality of the steak. I love a good steak house experience and don’t mind the cost once in a while. I’m not too impressed with most of the steak houses in Columbus and figured Ruth’s Chris would be ok, overpriced, and generally an ok experience. But, this time, I didn’t find it stuffy at all. It was casual and friendly… upscale, but you could go in casual attire. The martini wasn’t as good as what I make, but they never are. Had two olives and should have had four, but I didn’t ask. Certainly the highlight of the meal was the steak. I had the strip, medium rare. The steak is served on a sizzling hot plate that is literally sizzling when they put it on the table. Don’t touch the plate. The steak was very good quality and cooked just right with a wonderful sear. They are cooked in a super hot oven… I think they said 1500 degrees maybe. Dinner for two was $ 200 or so, so it isn’t a place I’d come to often, but I left very happy because of the steak.

Good service but food was below average. Chopped salad was small with an unimpressive presentation. Filet looked nothing like the pictures, was thin and flat. Two other nearby steak houses would be a better choice. Had to Valet park the car, it was parked 30 feet from the door. At the end of the night had to wait in line for 10 minutes to leave for the valet to move the car 30 feet.

As usual, the best steaks in town. My husband and I went there for my birthday, November 21, 2015. Our table was waiting when we arrived and it was decorated with confetti. It shimmered in the light. A very nice touch. I was disappointed that French Onion soup was not available. I did have the shrimp cocktail and it was wonderful. The sides we selected included the mushrooms in a thyme sauce, sweet potato casserole, and grilled tomatoes. The grilled tomatoes were not on the menu but we asked if they would make them. They asked the chef and was told yes. They are wonderful. My husband had a Caesar Salad and he said it was very good. I selected the filet mignon and my husband had the cowboy rib-eye. Both were amazing and there was plenty to take home. For dessert I selected crème brûlée and my husband had the bread pudding with an Irish Cream Coffee. Excellent choices. My dessert came on a lovely plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate as well as a lit candle. Very nice touch. Overall a great experience. The only downfall was our seats were along the wall straight down from the front door. It was a cold night and every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air on our feet and legs. This also cooled the food some as well. Definitely will be back even though it is a bit pricey.

Had dinner a few weeks ago. The food and service was great. I recommend the Manhattan Eastside cocktail. I usually don’t go in for the sweet drinks but this was very good. I also had the filet and shrimp, potatoes au gratin and asparagus both served family style. It was an excellent choice of location and food for the evening out.

Started out with the dirty bird martini. That was just o.k. Two olives only. Needed about four. Went on to the mixed green salad. Too salty. Must have been the dressing ??? On to the barbecue jumbo shrimp which I paired with the Brussels. The shrimp were neither barbecued nor jumbo and drowning in some type of «sauce» that the server referred to as butter sauce… ? Well that was Not detailed on the menu! Aside from that, the service left much to be desired. Since it’s first year of inception, this establishment has declined dramatically.

We came here to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and we were very impressed with the service and the quality of the food. We arrived pretty early, so we did not experience any of the«slow service» that others have experienced. I believe that as far as chain steakhouses go, Ruth’s Chris is the best. Sure it’s expensive, but the way the meat melts in your mouth is just amazing! As far as aesthetics go, the meat was delivered sizzling butter on a 500-degree plate; there wasn’t any vegetables or culinary herbs on top of the meat. It looked a little plain, but the taste was anything but. I high recommend the crab stack as an appetizer, which is a crab salad with mango, cucumber, and avocado. As for beef, I had the ribeye, which melted in my mouth and tasted amazing! We will definitely be back for more!

You know how you can give a place a high star rating«for what it is?» For example, a hole in the wall that has great atmosphere and great food might get a 4 or 5 star rating? Well, I give this Ruth’s Chris experience 3 stars based on what it’s SUPPOSED to be(and also what it was overall). I try not to revisit restaurants simply because there are way too many to try. I almost never frequent a chain restaurant. I have been to a Ruth’s Chris maybe 4 times in my life. The first two times, I remember it being perfect. Nice ambiance. Nice service. Delicious food. That was not the case with this particular visit. Perhaps my taste level has increased because I’ve been to some amazing restaurants, but I just wasn’t impressed with anything. Everything was just good enough. The ambiance was good enough. The service was good enough. The salad wasn’t great, but it was good enough. The creamed spinach wasn’t great. Probably not even good enough. The steak was good enough — tasty, but I asked for medium and it came back medium well. NEVER okay for a steak house. The dessert was just good enough. For what you pay at Ruth’s Chris, you should get a 5-star experience. Didn’t happen.

The steak was good. Service was really slow. Servers were professional and unobtrusive. Portions are ample. Ambiance is okay. I wanted to feel like this was an event. It was good but it wasn’t that.

There is an interesting ratio on food quality and food price. Steak houses today are really pushing that edge. When does it become totally out-of-whack. I think Ruth’s Chris is getting close. The food was good, but price can jack up your expectations. I’m sure that is debatable. There were three of us at the table. 90+ parents consider this restaurant their favorite. They love the butter on the hot plate. Clearly it didn’t hurt their cholesterol. Everything we ordered, steak, fish, scallops, salad, drinks were all just fine. Just not great. Service was pleasant. Very corporate I think is the word. I have noticed the wait teams in these places are getting younger and younger. Our waiters past experience was Max and Erma’s. Nothing wrong with that, but she still had a slinging-hamburger-mentality. I guess that will change if she stays. Meanwhile with tip it approached $ 200.

By far the best Ribeye around! I had the wedge for an appetizer, potatoes au gratin, & broccoli au gratin. My son had the stuffed chicken & lobster bisque. Everything was excellent but the broccoli not so much. Very pricey but worth it a couple times a year!

We dined here for a work dinner on 11÷3÷14. In my opinion, Ruth’s Chris is the best prime steakhouse in Columbus. The quality of the meat and the way they prepare the meat is leaps and bounds better than Hyde Park or Mitchell’s. Smith & Wollensky’s comes close, but not quite. I’ve had similarly amazing steaks at Ocean Club, but the steaks at the rest of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants that I’ve had weren’t quite deserving of the«prime» designation. Now of course, you need to be prepared to pay handsomely for a meal at Ruth’s Chris. This place is definitely best reserved for special occasions. This time around, I had their steak house salad and their petit filet mignon, which is 11oz. If their petit filet is 11oz, just how large is their standard filet I wonder? Both my coworker and I agreed that the filet was one of the best we’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be back, but I might have to wait for my birthday or some other special occasion to justify such a splurge.

I made reservations for my girlfriend’s birthday dinner, and the staff made it a perfect evening. The food was outstanding, and the crew working that night was even better. They decorated our table, all stopped by the table at some point to wish her a happy birthday, and brought her out a birthday cheesecake with chocolate almond bark and ice cream! The chef even wrote«happy birthday» in chocolate on the plate! We both ordered the filet, and we now see why Ruth’s Chris is considered the best steakhouse. The plate was piping hot, butter sizzling on it, and the steak was hot and perfect the entire meal. This is a great consideration for a special occasion.

Went to Ruth Chris steakhouse, give it an «A». Service was outstanding, T-bone steak cooked to a perfect Medium-rare. Potatoes augratin were cheesey and delicious. Wedge salad was on spot with their home made ranch and blue cheese crumbles. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong here. I say request table 23 for a perfect atmosphere, and waitress Courtney is the best! Tell her the Casper’s say hello when you go!

Pretty close to steakhouse perfection. I had a superb NY strip, cooked to order and served with an au poirve sauce, whose peppercorns enhanced the steak. Excellent fries and some wonderful soft bread with a hint of sourdough to it. The service was first rate as well. I went with a group of 10 and we received the same high quality service that a party of two would receive. I am looking forward to trying Ruth’s Chris when I return back home to Austin.

We just got back from spending an hour and 45 minutes here for dinner. To be precise we just got back from spending 20mins eating and the rest of the time waiting. Our drink and appetizer order was taken reasonably promptly and then the waiting began! Waited for my wine long enough that we had to ask another server for it, waited for the appetizer again having to ask someone other than our server for it as it appeared immediately there after leaving us to believe that it was sitting there waiting to be picked up. We waited to place the order for our entrée until again someone other than our server(who had come by to ask how things were) took our order to help out our server who was«busy with a large group» elsewhere. We waited for our main course, we waited for drink refills, basically we WAITED! Often our server did not come to our table until after someone else delivered to us. A manager came by and asked us how things were and we said slow. He asked what was slow and we said everything. He stated that there was no back up in the kitchen and that he would speak with our server. However, when our server did later show up and we got our check, my husband expressed his displeasure with the service. The server expressed surprise at his comment(really now?) and offered to have a manager speak with us. So apparently the manager saying he would speak to him had not occurred. The food itself was very good but a restaurant like this isn’t about just the food, it’s about the total experience and tonight we felt completely ignored. For the price of our dinner that was so very unacceptable. Let me add that this was not our first time at Ruth’s Chris or even this location… but no amount of sizzling butter could make up for how we were treated this evening. Chances of return anytime soon? It’s your turn to wait a long time Ruth’s Chris!
