I have been in this shipping center 3 times and the first two experiences were great. The person working was very helpful, and I was able to ship my packages very quickly. No crazy post office lines!
Yesterday, I went in for my third time to ship a book. The employee working tried to tell me that books aren’t media, so he couldn’t ship my book media mail. He wanted me to pay twice the cost of media mail. I insisted that books are indeed media, and told him that I had shipped dozens of books media mail. He insisted that he could not ship books media mail, and we argued about it until I pulled up the USPS website on my phone, and showed him where it stated that books are indeed considered media. He pointed out that the website said that the book had to be at least 8 pages long and asked how many pages my book was. I told him around 250 to which he replied, «but this says it has to be ‘at least 8 pages.’» I was dumbfounded. After staring at him for a bit incredulously, I explained that since 250 is more than 8, my book met the requirement. He finally very reluctantly agreed to ship my book media mail, leaving me with the warning that if it came back, he wasn’t responsible. I told him I wasn’t worried.
I’ll go back, but I’ll be praying that someone else is there to help me.
