Worst service ever. Slow and shitty.
They decide to serve people on their race.
The place wasn’t busy on a Saturday. Makes me wonder if the place is used as a front for money laundering or something.

I met my gf here a year ago. It use to be my favorite place to go on a Friday night or night out. Food was always great, big portions and good quality. The service was always on top of everything and great. It has gone through some changes since the drunk driver situations that have taken place over the past few years I see. I have been in on multiple occasions and had to leave due to not being served or waited on for up to 20 minutes at times. This place was good once. Hopefully they recover soon.

This place is truly THE PITS! Don’t waste your time. The food was horrible! Couldn’t even identify it when it was served! My husband and I arrived and the bartender was prompt and took our order. There were no servers. It was 600pm on Thursday evening and handful of people at the bar. We were the only ones who ordered food. Once she put the order in for our sandwiches, it took 45 minutes for them to bring it to our table. As I said it was unidentifiable and tasted greasy and that was the only flavor. We did tip the bartender only because she deserved it. She was good but the place is a disaster! Go somewhere else instead.

Decided to come here spur of the moment since we live just down the street. One bartender was working, and the place was practically empty. The bartender was friendly enough, but we both ordered food off the menu and it took almost 45 mins for it to be brought out. For simple bar food and the place not being busy, that’s a pretty long time. And after the long wait, the food wasn’t even good. It tasted very bland and was most likely frozen. I’d recommend Pastimes next door instead, better food and service.
From reading other reviews though I see our visit wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. My recommendation to the owners: Call Jon Taffer asap!

Came here for the Mayweather/​Pacquiao fight because it’s close and one of the few places showing the fight. Well, we ordered food over an hour ago. During that time, one table next to us has ordered one pizza, eaten it, waited a while, then ordered another one, eaten that one too, and had their table cleared a second time. The table to our right, who also ordered after us, has already finished their meal too. We ordered nachos, this isn’t brain surgery, don’t make it out to be. Scared to order our main course!

Had a slight altercation with one of the other patron’s at the bar and the co-​owner felt it necessary to grab me by my neck and escort me out of the bar. Was never asked for my side of the story, just immediately attacked by the owner without provocation. Once outside, was told to leave or the police would be called. Was never asked what the original altercation was about, just immediately told to leave or I would be charged with trespassing. Hands down this is one of the worst bar’s in Columbus, as the other reviews speak for themselves. Pastimes is next door and you are sure to have a much better time there. Avoid this place like the plague!

This place is terrible. I went with a couple of friends to watch some basketball games and it took a least 15 minutes to order a drink. Staff seems to be having more fun then actually working. Food and cleanliness of the place is questionable as well. It took another 30minutes to get the check so we could actually leave. Terrible service and just not worth it.

I’m as close as to 5 stars as you can be and it’s because of the bartender. Chubbs is the shit, it’s Christmas Day and he couldn’t be happier than to be at work. This guy is an asset to this business. Stop by and see if he’s working because it’ll be worth the stop

Never come here! I was visiting Columbus after thanksgiving and a few of us stopped in here to grab a few drinks before we hit the clubs. Looking at my bank account today I noticed a charge that was $ 100 more than it should have been. The bar tender added a $ 100 tip when we had already left a generous tip in cash. No response to a message and never answer the phone at the bar. But Chase has refunded the money, I will never go to this place again, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know in Columbus to never go to this place.

Went there once on a Friday night. Terrible. Hardly anyone was there but the music was at full blast. Not the kind of place you expect to see in New Albany. Peace out.

We are a group of friends for the past ten years who picks one restaurant to dine at, once a month. On Sunday evening, September 7, 2014, we selected My Friends Bar. It is in the neighborhood where several of us live, and we had read some good reviews on several sites. It was a horrible experience. When we came in at 7pm, there were only 6 other customers in the place. A bartender/​server came to our table to take drink orders. One of us ordered a beer, and the rest of us had soft drinks. Iced tea? «No, we don’t serve that.» Her scowl was chilling. It took about 20 minutes to have our drinks brought to us. We asked for menus, and after they were given to us, she left the building. There was only one other server/​bartender. She came over to us and said, «you know, we are not known to be a restaurant, we are more of a bar.» Yet, there was a full menu! There were five of us and we all ordered from the menu. One of us was served within ten minutes. The next meal came 15 minutes later. In fact, it was fifteen minutes between each meal served, so the first diner was long since finished before the last got his sandwich. This is abysmal service. The food quality? Not even mediocre. Everyone’s meal was cold. Even the «hot wings» were cooler than lukewarm. We will NEVER go back there again.

This place is way too ghetto for this area. I caught the bartender switch time so the first one sucked. The second girl was great. This place just doesn’t fit in the suburbs at all.

Not a fan. It’s close so we’ve tried this place several times. The service is usually mediocre, but one night we actually had a really friendly bartender. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay long because we had come to play pool and the owners friends had claimed every table. (They took the sticks, and stood at the bar for 30 minutes without ever actually playing)
We considered giving this place another chance but the last time we drove by there was a big fight going on in front of it. We’ve started going elsewhere. It’s a shame, this is close to our house. Hopefully, this place will realize they need the business of the people closest to them.

Maybe it’s because it’s close to home. Maybe it’s because I’ve been here a few times. MFB has a very «regular» crowd. Once you understand and accept the culture, it’s a good place to hang out. Close to NA and the Lifestyle Communities.

When this place opened, I was really, really optimistic. I mean, the space is nice, lots of TVs, attractive staff, good selection of alcohol. .. what could go wrong? After getting to know the bar manager (Tyler — or «Chubs»), I was even more optimistic. He is friendly, personable, and knowledgeable.
So, I started bringing friends there, and trying to patronize them frequently. That’s when Chris (the owner’s brother, I think?) screwed it up bad. My lady friend and I were in there one night, drinking top-​shelf alcohol, hanging out at the bar, playing some music on Touch Tunes (the computerized jukebox that you PAY MONEY for??). That’s when Chris and some other guy that works there decided that they didn’t like the songs that we bought). So, they just grabbed the remote and started playing what they wanted.
Not Cool.
They were very cavalier about it, too.
So, let me get this right — you put a jukebox in so that customers can play music, and instead of deactivating it (they can do that — they do it during sports games), they just wait until customers pay, and then they turn it off? I’m pretty sure that’s against the policies of Touch Tunes. Sarah, one of the bartenders (a GOOD one, too!), gave me my money back out of her OWN pocket, because she recognized how inappropriate it was. But, it was too late — that was the last drink I’ll be buying here.

My Friends Bar is a great neighborhood bar. Would I bring the in-​laws here? No. Would I meet an occasional acquaintance here? No. Would I go with close friends to let loose and blow off some steam? Absolutely.
It’s a bar where everyone is welcome and a nice change from the ‘corporate’ feeling bars that dominate the area. The staff is very personable; I don’t agree at all with some of the other reviewers’ comments regarding rude or inattentive staff. Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands as they will not wait on you like you are dining at Ocean Club. Big deal, its a cheap bar.
Prices are right, food is decent enough and its an easy place to kick back and have a good time. Keep it simple & don’t expect the red carpet treatment and you’ll have a great time.

Was not impressed and poorly executed. Service was bad and and not friendly. Did not want to stay long. Can’t say I am willing to give it a 2^nd chance. Good luck and hope you impress more guests.

They spend too much time talking and dancing to wait on customers! I had to wait 20 minutes before they asked if I wanted another drink and there were only 15ish people in the whole place. While I waited the bartender sat and chatted while the other smelled the half&half 3xs deciding if it was bad after she made the worst little beers ever! The bar back was more engaging then anyone else in the bar. DO SOMETHING all the reviews say your staff needs a major adjustment! They are right believe them!

Alright, so this isn’t a «nice» bar. This isn’t the kind of place you dress up. This is the kind of bar where you walk in, sit down, and order a drink. Done. Done. And done. My husband and I have been here several times and have had nothing but positive experiences.
Is it perfect? No. They’re new. And as far as the food is concerned, there is plenty of signage saying «kitchen coming soon.» If you choose to order the temporary food offerings, that’s on you.
I do hope that business picks up. They seem to have a decent crowd on the weekends (evenings) but it’s pretty slow otherwise. Maybe the windows are too tinted? I don’t know. This bar is convenient to my home, the bartenders are friendly, and I like having a local place nearby for happy hour with my friends.

Pretty crappy place for being brand new. The bartenders are too good for there jobs and take forever to give you drinks. The owner, owners whoever could care less if you are there or not. and the food truck is overpriced food from GFS. only bar in the area though
