Great staff, best selection in the state of Ohio, they also have an area where you can test the sticks before you buy them!

Terrible experience! came in any bought everything from head to toe to start playing hockey. They talked me into buying all the garbage they were trying to get rid of and didn’t properly fit me in a pair of skates that have been excruciatingly painful. After less than a year I have to buy a new pair of skates because I just can’t take the pain anymore. They wouldn’t do anything for me.

I was surprised I hadn’t reviewed Hockey Stop before, and now it’s moved to a new location in the same plaza just a few spaces down. This was one of the first places in Columbus to carry just hockey gear outside an actual ice rink, and in order to keep up with competition, it’s moved into a bigger area. From what I saw it has a pretty good sized selection and great pricing. I just bought a helmet there for $ 60. The biggest change, however, is the synthetic ice that they put at the back of the store to form a mini rink in order to test out equipment. According to the guy I was talking to there, they also use it to have small clinics for kids just starting out or trying to improve. With the opening of Player’s Bench at the corner of Sawmill and Bethel, it’s pretty big for Hockey Stop to be able to expand the store and put in a mini rink like that. I haven’t been to Player’s Bench yet, but I’ve heard it’s fairly large and also sells lacrosse equipment, so I’m glad Hockey Stop is able to compete. If you’re on this side of town looking for hockey equipment or jerseys, the guys here seem pretty knowledgeable, so check them out!
