Ever since the Corporate Offices moved, this Store is Different. It just does not have the attention to detail it once did. Expect to wait for quite some time for your meal, with even 10 or less people in the dining area. What’s with all the Menu’s and Paper they have to present to you when you get seated. What a waste of paper and ink. Your table looks like a small library while ordering.

I am *SO* done with this place. It used to be one of the better Bob’s locations… but not anymore. I don’t know what happened, but it’s just not worth going. I’ll explain my last couple of visits which explains my very low rating. And I’m sorry, but the only reason I give it one star is because I have to. And my apologies if this is long and boring, but I need to rant. You can read it or not, I don’t care. I’m fed up to ‘here’ with restaurants that don’t give a crud about quality service. And I’ve been running into a lot of that lately. A few weeks ago, my son and his dad and I went here for lunch. We were seated promptly, as usual, but it goes downhill from there. We ordered our drinks. My usual drink is ice water, no lemon. I was given ice water with lemon. Petty to some people, possibly, but not to me. Lemon dropped into water makes the water taste like lemon, which I do not like. I had to ask for another one. Food took forever to come out and once it did, our order was wrong. The appetizer was supposed to be accompanied by marinara sauce. We received it without. The waitress said, as she placed the appetizer onto the table, «I’ll go see if I can find the marinara.» Go FIND the marinara??? What, did it get up and run away??? It should have come out with the freaking appetizer. You don’t bring a half-assed, incomplete dish to the table. And by the time the marinara FINALLY made an appearance, the appetizer was nearly gone and what was left of it was cold. FAIL. I ordered a grilled sandwich with onions and the chicken noodle soup. The soup was barely lukewarm and the packet of crackers that came with it looked like somebody had sat on them. They were crushed. They weren’t even crackers anymore. Why in HELL would you serve that to your customer? My sandwich came without the onions I asked for. I pointed it out to our waitress. She eventually came back with a small dish of onions that I could put onto the sandwich myself. Well great, thanks a lot. Since the onions were forgotten, they were not GRILLED into the sandwich with the rest of the ingredients, so I had to pretty much tear my sandwich apart to get the onions on there. Okay, enough bitching about my last experience, let’s fast forward to today. My son and I stopped in for lunch before venturing off to shop. Again, we were promptly seated and our waitress came over to take our order. We got there at 11:40am. Almost an hour later, at 12:30pm, we still had no food. Neither did the 5 other tables in our section and some of them were there before us. The place was NOT busy at all, but we were told one of the cooks called in sick. At 12:30 I told my son I’d give them 15 more minutes(and that was being generous, considering the amount of time we had already sat there) and then I’m walking. 15 more minutes went by and still no food. I didn’t even get my coleslaw. I threw down a few bucks for our waitress(for at least getting us drinks, I didn’t want to stiff her because it wasn’t her fault the kitchen was so damn slow) and told my son, «Let’s go, we’re leaving.» We got up and left and went to Dan’s Drive-In and had the best lunch we’ve had in a long time. Never again will I go back to the southside Bob’s. They’ve totally let this place go and they don’t even seem to care. It’s no damn wonder they’re closing several of their restaurants. I can’t wait until the day I can write a good restaurant review because I seem to be seriously striking out lately. And I am NOT an overly picky person.

Terrible service. My family and I ate there yesterday and once our food order was taken we never saw our waitress again. They. Started to bring the food out when it wasn’t all ready which meant 2 of our group had to wait an additional 20 minutes on salad, we had to ask for the bread we ordered 3 times before we got it, the Mac and cheese was cold, when asked to reheat it the woman that brought our food was very rude. We never received a single refill. All in all it was a TERRIBLE experience. We will definitely drive the extra 10 minutes to grove city from now on.

We used to go to this location regularly when I lived in ohio between 2005 – 2012. I returned to columbus in October and we’ve been in a handful of times. For starters, on more than one occasion when my family and I arrive we are never promptly greeted. The older guy that is usually hosting is obviously a nice guy and pretty well know in the area but sometimes he’s more focused on conversation with the people he knows coming and going that he’s very delayed in greeting new customers. That being said if he’s hung up talking to someone it’s pretty disheartening to also see groups of staff huddled up in areas of the restaurant or behind the counter not take some initiative and greet and seat people themselves. Other than that. Everyone seems nice and we always get what we order for the most party in a timely manner but you can tell there’s a few customer service issues that need worked out.

Let it be known that Bob Evans is one of the last places I choose to go under normal circumstances, but when one of my friends is craving it – desperate times call for desperate measures. Of course, being a Unilocal Elite means checking out the reviews prior to dining, but my friends were anything but amused when I read aloud one particular review that stated their eggs were served with a long strand of dark hair, and their food cold. But, that reviewer wasn’t kidding when they mentioned their saving grace: Vivian. Unlike that particular Unilocaler, we were fortunate enough to actually have Vivian as our waitress. She was FANTASTIC. You know you have a good waitress when she checks the quality of your orange juice after another table complained — and even gave us a free glass of OJ to make up for the troubles. She also provided us with BOGO coupons at the end of our meal, just because it seemed like we enjoyed life. She was such a joy. Next time my friend choose Bob’s for brunch, I will gladly oblige, if only to visit our new friend, Viv.

I eat here on occasion and the service is and has declined tremendously I just got my food and there was a long black hair in my eggs cooked into them the waitress asked if I wanted them DUH! Then she took them back and asked for them to be remade but left my French toast so now they would be cold when I got my food back, a lot of laughing and loud banter in kitchen area no wonder there is hair in the food, seeing that hair really made me loses my appetite, the new food tasted VERY bland. I WONT be back! Only bright spot to this visit was the waitress Vivian but she wasn’t my waitress. I wont eat here ever again.

We go here all the time, close to home. Food is decent, never disliked anything I ordered. They do good breakfast and good burgers. Service at the south high branch is hit or miss, usually a miss. I’ve heard this is a training location, no way to know.

Had the unlimited soup/salad/sandwiches. Not a bad deal. Stick with the Turkey Melt sandwich. Also, I love Bob Evans pumpkin bread. Otherwise, Bob Evans is pretty underwhelming. Even this location, which is right next door to the corporate headquarters.

I am somewhat insulted by this place. Please keep in mind, I usually reserve my one star rating for places I either get food poisoning or find unpleasant things in my meal. This one is specific to this location. I am a Midwestern girl and I love Bob’s. It typically has solid, reliable food that is perfect for a hangover or a good way to start off your Sunday. The service is usually quick and efficient. This place is a disaster. I waited tables for several years and I have never had to remind a waitress to get so many things… and I don’t mean extras, but the normal deal you are supposed to get. May I have silverware? May I have cream for the coffee? May I have the dinner rolls that are supposed to come with my mother-in-laws lunch? May we have the soup and salads we all had(even though the meal is already here)? May we have ketchup for those of us that clearly have a potato that would typically require such a condiment? May we have the dessert that went with this meal? May we have a check with the correct totals? And don’t get me started on the food(which I do not blame on the waitress). Some of it was cold, some of it was on burning hot plates, some of it was covered in oil even though it was from the reduced calorie menu, some of it was burnt and I am not even sure what some of it was. Do better, dang it. You are killing my love of Bob’s.

Hello All, On February 9th, 2013, my family and I attended lunch at this restaurant after my Grandmother’s funeral. We had a party of at least 20 family and close friends. I ordered a simple chicken salad with water to drink. I think this is simple enough and should have been served in a timely manner. When placing the order, I asked for a seperate check for me and my wife. I saw her write down my order along with the order of others present. Every one elses order was served except mine. My order was asked for again of course, after all it was a larger party to serve. NOFOOD. My order was delivered to me after all the others had finished their food. This was a simple salad, nothing complex, no gravy, no fresh biscuits, just a boring little salad. I did leave this waitress a generous tip of $ 5.00 on a $ 7.00 salad, OK? I always tip nicely regardless. Yes this could be a mistake, but everyone else was served and had time enough to eat before I received anything. I did not complain or make any accusations.

For whatever reason, I have never liked Bob Evans. Perhaps it is the corporate aspect of it all, the constant appeals to more and more sugar, or the fact that I feel I am in a ritzy country joint. Whatever it is, the place has just never felt right. It pains me to say such a thing. I love Ohio and, therefore, I love things that come from Ohio but I just don’t love Bob’s restaurant. This particular Bob’s looks just like the rest with its overly polished ex– and interior making it seem like someone spent way too much money for a country feel. I have certainly never been to a true country restaurant that looked anything like it. The staff, of course, was a hodgepodge of high schoolers, 20 year olds, and 50 year olds. They were nice enough if not particularly country or professional. My food? I got what I think was called the Farmers Choice Breakfast. It came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, choice of meat, and choice of 2 hotcakes, 1 crêpe, or 2 slices of French toast. I ordered my eggs over medium because I don’t like the white part runny but they came out fully cooked; almost like flat hard boiled eggs. The hashbrowns were just ok, not really good or bad. The Sausage links were great, just as they always are. If Bob knows one thing it is Sausage(he has yet to come out of the closet). I chose the hotcakes, poor choice, and was rewarded with some terribly, overly sweet cooked batter that tasted like cheap mix from the grocery store. Finally, my coffee, probably the only authentically country thing in the place, was watered down and weak. So, you ask, how on earth could I say such terrible things about the food, décor, and staff and still give it 3 stars? Because the food was still adequate? maybe. Because I was checking out the stupid 20 year old waitress? a little. Because I love all things Ohio? … eh? … … …
