Goodbye Bier Stube. You were one of my favorite dives for a quick after work drink and bar grub. Great prices and decent food.

Arguably my favorite Columbus dive! Drinks are shamefully cheap across the board, as is their take out beer. Staff by-and-large has personality and know their regulars well. Parking can be a little tight, and their mens bathroom is a bit uncomfortable(no stall door, urinal right next to the sink with no wall to block the view), but that gets a pass because this place is so great. Back patio is an under-utilized space with loads of potential. They do have corn hole, however. This joint is a comfy, cheap, home away from home neighborhood bar that will impress upon your first visit

I used to go here all the time because it was close to home. One night playing darts and almost done with the game the owner came up and told us we were done. We were only on our second round and had bought food. He said the light from the dart board was making it hard for him to see the baseball game one the tv. There were only 6 other people in the bar, none of which were watching the game. Sorry for our business sir, won’t come again.

Decent prices, with regular specials on both food and beer. Oftentimes you’ll find domestic pitchers in the $ 5 – 6 range. The place is fairly clean, though I haven’t been in the bathrooms so I can’t comment on that. Their pizzas are ok; not great. It’s typical bar-quality fare. The group that I go with always goes after our flag football games, which are always on the same night of the week, but I get the feeling that Bier Stube has its fair share of regulars. It has the feel of being slightly more than a local watering hole, but on nights not frequented by large numbers of young professional football players, I wager you’d find a large number of the same people there on the other nights too. There are a number of big screen TVs all over the bar, that have games of all sorts on all the time. There isn’t much in the way of parking. Even when the place is only about 75% full in the evenings, you’ll still most likely have to find a place to park in a neighboring business’s lot who is already closed for the day. Overall, the music isn’t too loud, the service is adequate, and the décor is decent. It’s clean and inexpensive, and pretty much exactly what I want to relax with friends after a hard night of flag football.

This is one of my favorite places to go. The beer is good, cold and cheap. Service is good, and the food from next door is some of the best I’ve had in a bar. Only thing is I wish they would get a new jukebox.

So this review may be a bit biased since I came from a town where every bar was a dive bar, but I really like the Bier Stube. This is our go to place for after work shindig’s, spending a summer or fall evening sitting on the patio kicking back a few cold ones. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The beer is always cold, which always makes it seem to go down faster(it’s a conspiracy I tell ya !!!). The food is typical bar food, but it definately hits the spot. Besides, who doesn’t like bar food? The boneless wings are some of the best I have tried, moist and well sauced. The best part is that they also offer delivery for their food service, a great amenity when you are unable to leave the office.

A bit of an old-school come dive, the Stube is a fun place to stop at. There’s a patio in the back which could use some sprucing, but it’s fun. A large screen projector in the main bar area would make for fun game-day watching. Happy hour has decent pricing, wing sauces are pretty good as are the waffle fries and corn nuggets(cream corn in nuggets and fried). Not really a fan of the pizza though the staff seems to like it.

Beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer… you want some? You won’t find the 50 drafts on tap like you will at Bodega, but you’re fellow drinkers will be there for the same reason: sports and beer… and pizza too. The new ‘Stube’, or the Bier Stube North, as it’s appropriately called opened about 5 year ago. How perfect for a recent grad no longer as excited about partying on campus anymore. But it’s not the same, bummer. They still have the jukebox, they still have the pitchers and the random bar games. But it’s brighter, and cleaner and more spacious. That doesn’t seem so bad, but like I said it’s not the same as our little Stube tucked away on South campus. I can only name a handful of friends who have ever been there: graduates of Dublin High’s and of Hilliard High’s, both for reunion’s if I remember correctly. They do have the expected neighborhood bar happy hour, which I think is quite a bit longer than normal: From 12:00pm-7:00pm, Mon-Sun you get .50 cents off drinks. Whoo-hoo!
