Do not pass up this place! It’s hands down the best Indian cuisine in Columbia. Consistently superb. My husband and I eat here weekly for the lunch buffet. Incredible vegetarian offerings that never disappoint. Eggplant that melts in your mouth, rich and delicate mattar paneer, crispy broccoli 65, sweet and juicy galub jamon and the list goes on and on. The lunch buffet has about 8 different veg dishes and a couple of meat options. Friendly and welcoming staff greet you and keep more dishes coming! Including warm buttery naan(or roti if vegan) and dosai arrive while you’re enjoying your buffet selections. Mango lassis are creamy and tart. If you’re not eating here, you should be.

The lunch buffet is very good here, especially for vegetarians. They also have collection of top shelf liquor. Sambar here is one of the best in the area.

Mango Grove is quiet, clean, contemporary, and attentive. The focus on meatless fare is very refreshing and everything I tried was delicious. The best part is the lunch buffet because it is offered 7 days a week.

Great food and wonderful service! They have an abundance of vegan, vegetarian and meat options. Very flavorful, not everything is spicy. The buffet is full of great options and is very clean well kept/monitored. Definitely give it a try!

I used to like this place until a recent bad customer service experience. Couple of days after being there for lunch buffet, I received an email from my credit card company informing me that an $$ extra charge was processed by Mango Grove without my authorization! As a repeat customer, I thought I’ll give them a chance to sort this out and so called the restaurant and was told that the refund would be processed immediately. They told me that ‘someone’ must have added the tip without my sign. After waiting for next 10 days without a refund, I contacted them telling that I’ll write a Unilocal review if I don’t get a refund. They didn’t care. So I would never go back to this place and would let all my local friends know about this experience. Good job of stealing my money Mango Grove…

My first visit since vegetarian-centric Mango Grove moved to their current Stanford Ave location. The new space is larger than the old, and located in a shopping strip that includes a few other restaurants and a coffee shop. The back of the restaurant overlooks a small lake. My group had the lunch buffet on a Sunday. Although there’s a meat section now(4 items, off to the side from the main buffet), the vegetarian stuff is where Mango Grove shines. There’s more veggie options than most places, it’s intensely flavored with substantial mouth-feel, and the various bread-like products are kept briskly refilled(especially the naan, which is very good here). By contrast, the meat dishes are so-so, the meat on the dry side, the sauce so-so. Definitely bring your vegetarian diners here, and stick to the veggie dishes yourself.

The Mango Grove is now on my rotation of regular eateries. I love trying all the new foods every time I go, and always enjoy a mango lassi. And the staff is consistently wonderful. They make the dining experience so warm and welcoming.

Hungry and in the mood for something spicy we dropped by The Mango Grove for dinner on our way back from Virginia. Even without a reservation we were quickly seated and given our menus. The owner, a gregarious gentleman, warmly welcomed us and offered to move us a quiet booth in the corner that was just opening up — we quickly agreed. After speaking with him for a few minutes it was clear he is passionate about the food and openly enjoys discussing the menu and India’s rich culinary history. Questions answered and ready to eat I chose the Dal Makhani, extra spicy, and my SO selected the Avial. We also took advantage of the check-in offer for a free Mango Lassi. The Lassi arrived within minutes and was excellent; smooth, slightly tart, sweet with a prominent mango flavor. Once our mains were brought to the table we dug right in. The Dal was very well spiced. I know it’s on the mark when I feel a wee bit of perspiration form on my forehead. Enough heat to warm you from within but not so much as to mask the flavor of the dal, kidney beans, ginger, spices or cream. The Avial was mild(as requested) and to my partners liking. I only had a bite but what I tasted was well balanced and pleasantly mellow. Curry and coconut — an ambrosial pairing I could eat almost everyday. For a spontaneous dinner it met our expectations and if we are in the neighborhood again will be sure to drop by, if not for a meal then for another lassi… or two.

After trying them at DC VegFest, I finally found my way out to Mango Grove, and I enjoyed it. I was, it must be said, miffed by a couple of things. One, the prices are on the high side. This place is in a suburb of a suburb in a nondescript strip mall that my iphone tel
