Southside Pizza & Pub

If you are looking for a place with a ton of TVs, then this is an option. Do not expect any decent service as I’ve been there a minimum of five times and each time the service has been anywhere from average to deplorable. The best food to get here is their pizza which is pretty good but nothing special. The entire rest of their menu is average food quality at best. I no longer live in Columbia, but occasionally I will make my way back for sporting events; when I visit Columbia, this will not be one of the places I go back to. The only other redeeming factors is the fact that they have two pool tables, darts, and few other bar games to choose from. Also, they do have a decent shots list to choose from if that’s what are wanting to do for your evening.

Southside Pizza & Pub is quite a place. And if you love having multiple TV’s to watch, well they have them wall to wall. Serving up your traditional bar food– not bad, but not record-​setting either. There is ample seating so you can always find a spot. Rating overall quite well just given the entire package. But, then again you ain’t here just for the food.

Absolutely terrible restaurant/​bar. I went here because it’s close to the high school I teach at (Rock Bridge) and not only did I see multiple students of mine drinking alcohol but more of them arrived and were also not carded for alcoholic beverages. I was astonished. To top it all off, our service was horrible and food tasted microwaved. Do not waste your money!!!

I’m absolutely appalled at the service we received. We went in on a Saturday night around 5:30, and there was literally NO ONE there, except for a few people at the bar. With it being our first time, we were confused as to whether we should seat ourselves, or wait to be seated. The lady (who ultimately ended up being our waitress) just stared at us while we continued to look confused. We ended up just picking a table in hopes that someone would notice that we came in.
Once our waitress FINALLY came around… and after some drink confusion, we ordered our food. I have to be honest, I don’t know what all the hype is about their pizza. It was just alright. Now, maybe it’s because it was thin crust, (which I don’t like) or maybe it’s because it was cut into squares (which I also don’t like) but it wasn’t that good. I could have picked up a red baron pizza at Gerbes and have been just as satisfied.
Then, heaven forbid we wanted to pay for our food and leave. No, we had to wait around another 30 minutes in a completely dead restaurant just to pay our bill.
Their food is basically bar food. If you’re drunk as hell with numb taste buds and you’re completely ravenous, then I’m sure Southside is gonna be BALLIN. But otherwise, stay away. So I guess if you have 2 hours to spend on sub-​par food and awful service, Southside is the place to be!

The five stars are for their margarita pizza. It is as good as pizza gets. Service has always been decent each time, but the margarita pizza is the best. The quality and taste of the pizza has always been consistent. The only other pizza place comparable in this area is Brooklyn Pizza in Fulton. Both pizzas are what you’d find in a good Boston or Brooklyn pizzeria.

If you like sitting at a table with an empty glass, this is your place. Half dozen waitresses outside smoking, nobody in the bar, and no service. When you do get a waitress they give you one beer every hour. Not a place to go if your looking to get drunk.

Love it! Great drink specials. Love the wings! Good option when looking for a night out. It’s also a bonus that they have lots of tvs to watch all of the games at once!

First time we visited Southside. We had a great time. Our waitress was sweet and the food was good for a sports bar and the beer was very cheap. My kids had fun and I got to watch all the football games at once. I really liked the wood bench seats too, gives the place a comfortable feel.

Pretty good college bar, with cheap beer and cheap food. The Pizza is decent, but not worth it alone. Great place to have a large group to watch a game for little money. I wouldn’t take a first date though.

This place is a SCAM! They advertise beer specials that they don’t really offer. Menu says $ 1 dollar bottles which they do not honor anymore, also says $ 1.50 pints of Boulevard which they do not honor. Does anyone else find a little disturbing that the bartenders/​owners stuff cash into their pockets instead of straight into the register? Hmm.
The late night delivery is convenient but they don’t tell you a total or wait time on the phone but they do, however, ask you how much you want to tip on your card before your pizza even enters the oven??? When they do show up to your house, the total is always an even dollar amount. Coincedental? Don’t think so.
Do all of the honest, hard working business owners in town a favor and stop patronizing this place.

I didn’t have the pizza, so I’m only rating this place as a bar.
They have $ 1 beers (bottle and drafts) and some of them aren’t that bad. You can’t really beat $ 1 beers.
Also, on Wednesday night there’s karaōke.
There’s a couple of pool tables. It’s not really a college hangout. I would actually say it’s more of a townie bar, but it’s a cool enough place.

I heard that this place has amazing pizza… but the pizza was only ok. I have definitely had much better. They deliver pizza until 4 am though, and that sounds amazing. According to the website they have karaōke and live music on some nights. And they have $ 1 beers all of the time, I think. But, I’m judging this place on its pizza and it wasn’t good.
