Renata’s Tasty Bites

I rarely take to Unilocal!to do reviews-​mainly because I rarely come across any business or restaurant that is consistent in both service and product. However, Renata’s Tasty Bites is the exception. I first met Renata back in the fall when she opened her store. I thought it was cute with its pink walls and comfy feel and display case, but I’ve been visiting her store for months now and it far exceeds just a «cute» description. Her homemade food is unparalleled to any savory or sweet treat I’ve ever tasted. This is not your traditional cupcake/​donut shop with regular food and stale coffee. If that’s what you’re looking for-​do not come here. It has a European flair with delicious treats made every day, seriously every single day, from scratch. I love the tomato tarts, blueberry scones, cupcakes, ham and cheddar pastry, almond treat and yummy quiches. Renata, the owner, has certainly put in her sweat equity hawking her wares for years before opening her store. She has since added soups and homemade chicken pot pies. I have not eaten anything that I did not like. She really knows how to bake! Prices are affordable and she changes up the menu often. The store is hard to find, but circle back around if you miss it-​because it’s well worth it!

Love this bakery!!! It is very hard these days to find a European style bakery around here with authentic goods. This place has it all, from the sweet to the savory dishes. Renata puts a lot of time and loads of effort into her baking, from very trusted ingredients to everything made from scratch. Which I can see why prices are not what you would expect in a regular bakery. She makes everything from scratch and all of it is handmade so it is worth the price. She also does orders for almost anything you see in her bakery. I was never disappointed in any purchase I got.

Great bakery with delicious variety of items. Some of my favorites include everything with apple or raspberry and the ice cake. Prices are quite reasonable for quality baked goods, and owner is very attentive and friendly.

Cute little bakery — clean and bright. The owners were very nice. I just happen to drive by to pick up food at a nearby restaurant when i saw the signs for Renata’s. I purchased 1 mini pecan pie (hors ‘derves size) — flavor was perfect. 1 mini apricot pastry — texture was point — flaky pastry with delicious apricot filling. I haven’t tried my 3^rd dessert yet. I knocked off a star because i felt the prices were high, but i think i’ll be back because boy, the desserts were tasty.

Finally, a good bakery in Columbia. Actually, this place is more than good. Amazing quiches, cookies, cakes, strudels, and other sweets and savories, ALL made from scratch. If Renata’s catches on, they’re going to have a line out the door all day long. They also have good local coffee, but the only drawback is they don’t make any other coffee drinks besides straight coffee. Very friendly owner too.

Renata and her husband are awesome! We have been here several times and it has been a great experience every time. We have spent the last couple weekends stopping in and eating the savory food that they have here. A lot of not sweet deserts to taste. Try the ham and cheese.

This place deserves a 6 star rating! Tried different pastries every time and never got disappointed. You can totally taste love and soul in each bite! Thanks for bringing such amazing food to Columbia;)

My mom bought me a bag of the «linzer cookies,» which are basically shortbread sugar cookies with raspberry jam and they are amazing. They taste very fresh, and are delicious. This review is based on that particular cookie only as I did not visit the bakery myself or experience the customer service. However, my mom did say the shop was very cute and clean.

The customer service is excellent. My stars are primarily for the nice shop owner and worker. The pastries tasted like a lot of care and thought went into them. I had the tomato tart, scone, and almond turnover. The items tasted very rich and real, but I felt they were somewhat lacking in flavor. Extremely flaky. The prices are higher than other bakeries, but I can understand the higher price point for the work that likely went into making them. Good to try, but I doubt I’ll be returning.

We just went there for coffee, but when we sampled the blueberry scone, we decided to try more. My friends and I tried the scone, quiche, mozzarella and ham roll and a peach pastry. They were all delicious! I am from out of town and plan to go back at least once before heading home.

Excellent new bakery in the area that stands out because of its savory options. The early hours make it ideal for breakfast –we’ve had their scones, quiches, and ham & cheese rolls. It does not disappoint. Their desserts are awesome –not too sweet and made with simple, seasonal ingredients. We hope they stick around for the long run.

I’m so happy to find this new bakery! My favorite part is that they sell not only sweet pastries, but savory as well. The quiches are delicious and just enough for a nice breakfast.

Mrs Renata is very friendly the Bakery is extremely clean, interior is very pretty and the sweets stuff are so delicious made daily! I highly recommend them to everyone!

Seriously good bakery. This is without a doubt the best thing to happen to Columbia in the bakery world. I went in, they just opened three weeks ago and a friend recommended visiting. There were samples so you could try a few things. I was sold immediately. The coconut cake is awesome. The best I have ever had. Not overly sweet, a great filling, more European in nature. The plum tart was equally good, again, not super sweet. Then, I started to looking around, there were tomato tarts, little quiches, and all kinds of cookies and yummy yummy things. It is cute, clean, sweet (meaning Renata and her assistant) and the coffee was yummy too. I can’t wait to take a friend next week.

I have patronized Renata at the Miller Branch Farmers’ Market since they she first arrived. You MUST get to new store! Just opened last Saturday and already there are more items than she was able to bring on Wednesdays. Beautiful space – a fun meet up place for friends. Love that I can get goodies for the weekend. The tomato tarts are to die for! Great cheese rolls, blueberry and cranberry scones. Friendly staff and Renata will do special orders, too. Easy to access from anywhere in HoCo.

A must go! Tomato Tarts and Blueberry Scones are amazing. Can’t wait to try the Almond Chocolate Cream Cake next!
