love luna bella one of my favorite restaurants, my husband and I come here on special occasions. Olive garden has nothing on Luna. Their shrimp bruschetta is the BEST!!!

Luna Bella is one of my favorite joints in the DC Metro area for Italian. And I just took a trip to Tuscany 2 months ago. The Chicken Luna Bella and chicken parmesan in particular really stand out. Very solid, and reasonably priced.

Had a great meal here. Knew we were in for a great meal when the place was filling up on a Monday night. Decided to do the Sunday-Thursday $ 18 Pre Fixe menu, which was great. Portion sizes were quite large and the flavors were fresh and satisfying. The Gnocchi with Pesto Cream Sauce was a cheesy decadent surprise. The dipping oil for the complementary bread was fabulous as well! Be sure to check this little spot out!

Nice little Italian restaurant. They have the best meat sauce I have ever had. Good service, friendly staff, exceptionally tasty food.

This place is a solid go-to for my family and friends in our area. The food and the desert are consistently good every time. For those people, and we all know a few; that are never satisfied with *any* restaurant — I’m sure you would find flaws but I would say 95% of people that visit Luna Bella will definitely be back. NOTE *** make a reservation. It’s a small place and gets very crowded.

This is one of the best restaurants in Columbia. The food is always good. The only thing I wish is that I wish they still had booths.

Great little Italian restaurant hidden in Columbia. We went family style and shared three dishes. All were GREAT!

Met a friend for a weekday lunch and we were pleased with this cute little place. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with all food and drinks. The food was delicious!!! They offer several lunch specials complete with salad and bread; we opted for lasagna and house salad for 9 bucks! Portion is generous and the creamy cheese, soft noodles and tender meat are perfection. I’ll be back for more!

Friends suggested we go to their favorite Italian restaurant, Luna Bella, for an early dinner. I understand why they suggested this restaurant and why they suggested early. The restaurant is quite charming, but rather small. We were seated in a corner table by the window, which we liked. By 5:30 tables were starting to fill up and the restaurant was full when we left. Our friends ordered«their usual»; for him chicken marsala, for her spaghetti and meatballs. My husband had the sausage, peppers, and onion hoagie. Somehow he ended up with a side of potato chips.(Who ends up with potato chips in an Italian restaurant?) He loved his sandwich; he’s always a sucker for sausage and peppers and he didn’t think it odd that his side was potato chips. I had cheese ravioli with red sauce. Cheese ravioli is a pretty basic Italian dish and this was one of the best versions I’ve ever eaten. The sauce was delicious, not too sweet, not bitter, just perfect. The portions are generous so my husband ate half of my dish and our friend took half of hers home. Monday and Tuesday are half price wine nights on selected bottles. My favorite zinfandel was on the list, but I couldn’t talk anyone else into sharing it so I just had a single glass. The service was outstanding. My only complaint is that it’s in Columbia, MD and I’m in Silver Spring. Wish it was closer, as we would probably be there on a weekly basis.

Regular menu is super solid. Pizza’s are delicious. Salads are especially fresh. Bread is freshly baked. Sign up via email or Facebook for weekend specials. The specicals are generally over the top! Small intimate setting, but warm & cozy. Service is excellent & thoughtful.

Columbia is lucky to have this gem(almost a 5). There is lots of excellent food here, but don’t miss beginning with Field Green and Gorgonzola, an ethereal and memorable mix that also includes pear, walnuts and dates($ 6.50−9). Also delicious is Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce($ 13) and Pizza Finito with garlic, mozzarella, gorgonzola, caramelized onions, fresh basil and roasted peppers($ 11 – 13). Our only reservations are about the desserts: while most are quite good, the cannoli(the only one made outside the restaurant) was ok but too sweet. At our first visit, no server could have been nicer or more conscientious than Stephanie! One bit of advice to another otherwise very good server at our second visit: please don’t bring the dessert tray before we ask for it. Of course, he also brought cherries and cream gratis to the kids at our table. Luna Bella’s restrooms are impeccable, one of them even including a full-size vacuum — in case you’re not satisfied :-). And a dining neighbor must also think very highly of LB, since he proposed marriage at an adjacent table!

Great food and super service. When we come it is always the best. Had chicken tenders and enough for a meal and to share. For dessert we had the Jewish apple cake made in house and served with ice cream. What a treat!!! I have been coming for years and never been disappointed.

Great home style recipes! I love the red sauce and the buttery caper sauce. The salmon is delicious and the salads are great. They also have wine specials that are about on par with normal retail pricing like $ 15 for a full bottle of wine.

Really good food and great service. Super friendly hosts and waiters. Bread was excellent, soft with crispy edge and warm, right of the oven. Delicious!

A cute Italian restaurant tucked away in Columbia, Luna Bella has a lovely charm to it. Came here with a party of 7 people including 2 children and we were very pleased by the friendly service from everyone, especially our lovely waitress. One of the children in our group has Autism and our waitress was very patient and fullfilled our request to bring him some different sauces and dips(he loves that!). He had a great time at the restaurant so I wanted to say thank you to her for making his night! In terms of the food, they do have 2 gluten free options for those wondering(a gluten free pizza crust and gluten free ravioli). I ordered the Salmon Balsamico which came with wilted greens and risotto. The salmon was delicious but the sides were way to salty for my taste buds.(Didn’t stop me from finishing my plate though!) The highlight for me was the dessert cart… we shared the key lime tart and the peanutbutter mouse bomb, both were AMAZING! I would love to come back and try one of the pasta dishes and definitely will be saving room for dessert! It’s nice to find a non-chain Italian restaurant in the area.

Luna Bella was a good restaurant and I’m sure we’ll be back but it won’t have me ranting and raving over it. I had Giuessepi’s Eggplant which was nice, wasn’t soggy and overlooked which often happens with eggplant dishes and the tomato sauce with it had a lovely fresh taste. My husband had the meat lasagna; he said it was nice but nothing special. One issue I did have was with our server; it was obvious he couldn’t give two shits about being at work. I understand people have bad days but it left us feeling a bit neglected. After taking our initial order he never checked in to see how the food was, or if we wanted anything else until it was time to pay the bill. All the other tables being served by others were offered fresh bread and olive oil upon arrival– we were not. All the other tables were offered freshly grated cheese when their food came out — we were not. Good food, nice setting but unfortunately our server definitely brought the experience down for us.

I’m really surprised that this place doesn’t have more reviews. I was introduced to Luna Bella from a fellow colleague of mine and I’ve been hooked ever since. BESTITALIANFOODINTOWN. This place is so cozy and their food is really good. From their fresh baked bread to their pasta dishes, it is truly fantastic. My hubby and I come here for date nights and come out so stuffed. Their desserts are so good too. I’m so glad we found Luna Bella. Make sure to check it out!

Nice small Italian restaurant with great atmosphere. We got calamari, chichen luna bella, sweet sausage hoagie, fettuccine alfredo and penne bolognese with caesar salad. All their pasta was good but my bolognese and my son’s luna bella had a little too much sauce for the amount of pasta we had on our plate. I would rather have a little more pasta than a full plate of sauce. Other than that, both pastas were delicious. Alfredo sauce was a little bland compared to the other two pastas we had. Calamari was soft inside and crunchy outside, which we loved it. Can’t really tell about hoagie since my hubby ate too fast. I didn’t get to taste it, but he said it was good even though the pasta salad that came with it had no flavor. Overall nice restaurant with good service that has more than average Italian food. Definitely going back for pastas. Maybe I will try pizza next time.
