Holy Smoke! That should be all that needs to be said. Just had an awesome experience when smoked turkey, beans, Mac and Cheese, and coleslaw showed up at my job. Best horse trade I’ve made in quite a while. Matt and crew are super.

Food is awesome. Been to Smoke & Fire a couple times now. My recommendation would be to get the nacho appetizer and the burnt ends(first I’ve ever loved).

The brisket was ok, but only that. They seem to smoke it very hot, which chars it on the outside but doesn’t produce a smoke ring. Worse, it leaves a visible fat layer. The sweet potato fries were served at room temperature.(For the second time. And at least 3 people in our party ordered them.) The service was good, but it isn’t worth the trip, IMO.

I have eaten here 3 times and thought it was time to review. I have had the pulled pork sandwich, burger, and a rack of ribs. Sides were mac and cheese, fries, pork and beans, and slaw. The sandwiches were all excellent — 5 star. The ribs smelled awesome — but were over-smoked and a bit bitter because of it. They were also only served warm. I am picky when it comes to smoked meats, but in all fairness, the person I shared the ribs with thought they were fine… so I will give the ribs 3 stars. Mac and cheese, pork and beans — 5 star. Fries and slaw — 4 stars. Sauces are excellent. I love them all but seem to use the lil hot sauce the most followed by the mustard, then sweet. 5-stars. Drinks are large and they have a well stocked bar. Service is good. I love the way the place smells outside and in. It is very clean. Price is about average for a good smoked meat restaurant and portion sizes are average to large.

In town for work and was suggested by a customer to hit them up for lunch. Good brisket and pulled pork. The slaw and potato salad were good as well. Sauces weren’t spectacular but served their purpose nonetheless. Service was excellent, definitely would be back if I’m in the area again.

Great food! I always get excellent service here, and the food doesn’t disappoint. My favorite is the burnt ends sandwich, but so many other delicious choices! I have enjoyed the hot dog, the turkey and newest experience was the Mac n cheese brisket sandwich, it was more than I could handle in one meal and will share next time. Great place to eat!

Got pulled pork and mustard potato salad. All decent but not changing the world, especially around here. No ribs on the menu. Pretty good prices.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. Restaurant had one other couple in it and perhaps 10 customers total, by the time we left. We ordered fried pickles and split the«No Regrets» sandwich. We upgraded the side by paying an extra $ 1.99 for onion rings. The pickles were worth the visit. Unlike other places that serve battered and fried slices, these were large pickle spears. Nicely breaded with a very crisp outside, they were hot and not«wet» inside. Was paired with the surprising choice of a dill flavored, greek yogurt that was quite good. Serving was huge – 6 large spears. Sandwich was a thin layer of barbequed beef, turkey, and some onion and coleslaw. Served on barely toasted Texas Toast that had been smeared with a little, very sweet barbeque sauce. The sandwich was OK, but not great. Individually, the meats had a faint smoked flavor, but no characteristic crust or appearance of being smoked. Onion rings were good. Decent coating and sweet, whole onions inside. Nothing special and not worth the price. Didn’t notice until the end of the meal that there was a sauce station 10 steps away from us. Would have been nice if the server had mentioned that. Total was $ 26 + tip. Pricey for what we received, but the food wasn’t terrible. The place is close to our house I plan to try them again and see if some of the other offerings are better.

Just found this place randomly and decided to stop by. And oh boy! We got Texas burger and the Carolina burger. Both were amazing. Potato salad was okish. But the burgers were to kill for. Arguably the best burger I have had in Columbia so far.

Finally got the chance to give this place a 2nd visit. And I’m so glad I did. It was totally different than my last visit. I had a GREAT Texas toast sandwich with bacon, pulled pork, and Mac-n-cheese. The baked beans were 2nd only to Buckinghams. They didn’t look pretty(black, white, baked, and pinto mixed together) but were awesome! My buddies loved their prime rib and burger. Will visit again!

Best BBQ in Columbia. 5 co-workers and I came for lunch. Bathroom was super clean. We ordered a variety of plates and all loved them! The Mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwich sounds weird but is AMAZING. Grilled veggies were savory. Sauce is served on the side. The meat is flavorful enough dry! Real Vegetarian options are available. Everything was very fresh

First of all, our waitress was phenomenal, what an angel. We got the Sunday buffet to go. The food was cooked perfectly and seasoned just so subtly that sauce tasted natural with it. My uncle recommended it highly enough that my boyfriend and I had to try it even being 30 minutes off our route home. My BF grew up eating fresh meat off the farm and I grew up in Kansas City, so our expectations were high. We raved about it between every bite. I only wish there had been fries or cornbread instead of cookies!

I’m no BBQ connoisseur, but I loved the burnt ends entrée. They were crispy on the outside but still tender on the inside, with good flavor. The fries and mac and cheese also were good. My wife enjoyed the pulled pork. Good service. We’ll be back.

Gross!!! A day later and still feel awful. Had 2 adults and a child, no drinks and our meal was $ 50!!! They only have buffet on Sunday, guess we should have ask the price but would have never thought it would be that much. However if this would have been good BBQ would have gladly paid that or more. Ribs tasted like rubber, brisket was chewy, pulled pork fatty, and fried chicken had no seasoning and I have had better at KFC. Dessert was prepackaged cookies. All for the low price of $ 50 on paper plates! No thanks! Rated NOSTARS.

Great lunch special. 4.99 to 6.99 sandwich, chips, & a drink. The brisket was moist and tasty. Everything on the menu is an adventure l, not your typical baba place.

The chicken and andouille were cooked nicely and had good flavor. The rest was not so good. Burned, overcooked and dry ribs. Over-greasy limp fries. Over-greasy and soft onion rings. Mac & cheese on par with store brand boxed from the grocery store. Overall it did taste good, but the quality is not great for the price. Their sandwiches are $ 10 but I wouldn’t expect to pay more than $ 5 for the quality of the ingredients and preparation.

At first I wanted to give them a lower review, but the rest of my party enjoyed it. BBQ was ok with a lot of sauce, the sides weren’t that good. And there is NOTHING special about the Mac n cheese, don’t let them talk you into it.

I have been meaning to leave this review after eating here shortly after the place opened. With Columbia bring as close as it is to KC, you would expect some good BBQ options. And while the dining décor play homage to the great bbq regions of the USA(more on this later), I think this place would be considered KC style. My wife and I had the BBQ nachos and a brisket sandwich. The nachos were very good. We got ours with pork. They are similar to your normal restaurant nachos with all the toppings, but with a BBQ flare. They are a great way to sample some sauce from the«sauce bar». The brisket was good too. Good smoke ring and crust. Plenty of flavor. I added sauce for a little juice, but the meat was not really dry by itself. I thought the décor was fun. As I mentioned before, they had different sections of the place that represented KC, Memphis, Carolina and Texas if I recall. The Texas section even had picnic tables in it, which is common in Texas joints. I would put CoMo Smoke right behind Pete’s in the battle for best Bbq in town. A good addition.

I wish this had a no star, I don’t know if the cooks are inexperienced or what, may have been better if our food wasn’t sitting for about 20 mins, and the manager was a class A, butt, that was the hardest time I had holding back my words, and a few got out, the owner on the other hand was very sweet, just a very bad experience, and I will not be back, nor will my family, Buckingham’s is were im going!!!

Worst burnt brisket ends I’ve ever had. Like flavorless, wet, pulled pork. That being said, there are other interesting looking items on the menu that look like they could be good. Service was good, even though they were pretty busy. It’s not my first choice for BBQ in Columbia area. It’s unlikely, but I may be back.
