Had an event here with 70 people and Erika was amazing in setting the whole thing up. Leigh, cherish? Britta, Courtney and ray were amazing in helping our crazy crew. Food and drinks were delicious and service was beyond amazing. Thank you. See you next year!!!

Two stars for the amazing food. The service is terrible downstairs. We had a party of 25, and they only gave us one waitress… Even though we called ahead. We could never find our waitress half the time. It took around 30+ minutes to get the waitress to being a bottled but light to the table. I pry would have ordered more, but the wait was insane. The waitress was the worst I’ve had in a long time. She was acting upset that we we’re there. We tip really good, but this time, she didn’t get much of a tip. Not to mention, she made it seem like we were hassling her when I wanted another beer. I only ended up drinking two beers when I wanted like ten…

Decent service. Foods not the best. Great day day drinkn scene, but the margaritas are not up to par!

This place was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting it to be like Buffalo Wild Wings but the food was actually great! We went on the night of USC graduation so the rooftop area was reserved unfortunately. we were sat in a booth downstairs inside. My only complaint was that it was so dark and not many windows, which is not my favorite on my pretty sunny day. They had a huge draft beer selection which I was excited about. I got the four pepper burger (it had fried jalapeños on it, yum!) and my boyfriend got the Ruben sandwich. Both were very tasty! My burger was cooked correctly and the fries are amazing. Nice sports bar with great food. We will be back!

Had to send ribs back since they were cold. Will see what happens next. They did get reheated and we finally got hot food. But the experience was poor. The management at this place is not good so don’t expect fast service or hot food on the first attempt.

The pub burger at Carolina Ale House is far and above my favorite burger in Columbia. Fried onions, yum. Seasoned and cooked to perfection burger, yum. Special sauce, yum. Definitely a good idea to ask for extra sauce though. They can be super stingy with the sauce.
Only drawback was the waiter calling me «sweetie» the whole time. Dude, you don’t know me. Don’t call me sweetie.

I have never given a restaurant 1 star before. However, I went here tonight with 7 friends. We each ordered food. I had the nachos, they were stale, cold, and unappetizing. Friends had chicken wings that some were undercooked and others were burnt. Cheese fries were cold and looked disgusting. Service was very slow. With so many wonderful options of places to eat in Columbia that are within walking distance of this establishment, I don’t have the desire to ever eat here again.

Service was nice and management seemed appreciative of customers. I got the pub burger medium well and it had smoky bacon, cheese, onion strings, and a secret sauce. It came with a side for 9.59. I am typically not a burger person, however I would definitely try this burger again.

We ordered the baked wings and fried wings. They were both very good. We ordered martinis all night and they were so small. I had to send two of them back because the bartenders did not clean their cups and I could taste whatever was mixed previously.

I used to enjoy this place, however, every time I visited, the french frys were delivered luke warm.
Recently, I discovered the reason, the frys were left in a large bowl on the kitchen delivery counter. When a server picked up the order, they took the frys from this bowl. Obviously, there was plenty time for them to cool down. Every time I went there, I specifically asked for hot frys, but even then it did not seem to work.

This place was great! Terrific service, awesome ambiance and the food was… ok. I couldn’t give a 5 star rating since the food wasn’t great. I ordered a burger and it was so salty, I couldn’t stand it… so I Sent it back. Instead, I got a chicken wrap which was quite tasty. My husband gotta salad and he said it was good too. I would go back for sure!

Trademark trolling at its finest, suing a small craft beer store hundreds of miles away for using a name that happens to fall on a CAH menu. A petty company that no one supporting small local business should want to support.

Biggest rooftop bar in Columbia. Great specials, cheap cocktails and good service. Food is good as well.

The bar deck on the second floor is definitely something you don’t see all the time. If you’re coming here you have to sit outside on the roof! It’s a great place to go with a large group of friends! They have a ton of great options to choose from. My personal favorites are their mozzarella sticks and their fried shrimp! They also offer an appetizer sampler where you get to try a bunch of their appetizers, which is great. If you’re wanting to experience a new food environment, you should check this place out!

We went to Carolina Ale House after the Color Run in Columbia a few weeks back. We sat out on the patio upstairs, which had a few other groups of color runners, as well. It started to get a little crowded after we got there, but there were still a few empty tables. Our server was nice and our starters (chicken nachos, fried cheese curds, and fried pickles because why the eff not) were delivered pretty quickly after we ordered and we demolished them in about 5 minutes because we were ravenously hungry after the race.
It took about another 30 minutes for the first wave of entrees to arrive. Although we had a party of 8, only 3 entrees were delivered to the table. After another 10 minutes, 4 more entrees appeared, leaving one member of our table without food. We waited another 20 minutes before we asked to speak to a manager and the final entrée (a buffalo chicken wrap, btw, not a complicated order. In fact, he was the 2^nd person to order that exact thing, and the first wrap was one of the first entrees to be delivered) came out. The manager did give us 20% off our checks and apologized for the delay, but it was still kind of ridiculous.
The view was nice though.

4 stars because of the rooftop bar which is a sparse commodity in Columbia. On nice nights it’s a fun place to come hang out and watch games. Food isn’t anything spectacular, but it’s not bad either. The sampler platter is probably my favorite and more than enough for a meal. Chicken nachos are also good.

We went to Carolina Ale House after the Color Run. It got a little busy ad other Color Runners had the same plan. Our server was nice and our starters (nachos, fried cheese curds, and fried pickles because we had just completed a 5k and needed to re-​carbo load) came out quickly and were devoured in the blink of an eye.
We started having problems after the appetizers. We had a party of 8. Three entrees came out. Then later, four entrees. Then later, another entrée came out. And after asking to speak to a manager, the final entrée (a buffalo chicken wrap) came out. That was about an hour and a half after ordering. The manager did come up and offer 20% the check, which was nice, but 1.5 hours is an excessive amount of time to put a chicken wrap together.
I realize that Carolina Ale House is a chain and should be held to an extremely high standard, but still. Additionally, three of us ordered burgers done medium and they were definitely served well. At the rate the chicken wrap was being served, however, none of us wanted to take the time to point it out and wait for a new entrée.
Probably won’t make another visit here, unless it’s just for appetizers. Those fried pickles and fried cheese curds were pretty good.

We live in Charleston but visited Carolina Ale House with some friends in Columbia when we found the original lunch destination wasn’t open on Saturday. It’s a pretty neat sports bar with tons of Carolina Gamecock memorabilia and a rooftop bar (it was cold and raining, so we didn’t go out there).
There were 4 of us, and we split a full-​size nachos appetizer. The app was a great deal and really good if you have a table of people. You can get a smaller order, but it was only $ 1 for the large and it easily fed all of us for an app. It would be good to split and share when having some beers and watching a game too (did I mention this would be a fun place to watch games? Tons of TVs playing various football games on a December Saturday (Carolina was not playing that day).
For food, I had the lunch special, which was barbeque salmon. It also came with rice and veggies. The food was good, although the sauce was poured on the salmon, I expected it to be brushed on and grilled or something, but for $ 9.99 it was a good portion and price (I did scrape some of the sauce off). My husband had a sandwich, and our friends had a burger and a pizza. My friend had a lot of special requests for toppings on her pizza, but the order came out perfect and our server answered all our questions and did a great job. There is a small parking lot outside, and they had tasty key lime flavored mints by the door for us to take on the way out.
Aside from the sauce on the salmon (it tasted fine, just wasn’t the greatest presentation), we really enjoyed CAH. It seems to be a small chain in SC, and they just opened one in Summerville, so we may try it out the next time we’re close by.

Carolina Ale House is your typical sports bar eatery whith your typical sports bar food (wings, burgers, sandwiches, and a few other dinner selections). There is ample seating at this location (seeing that it is downtown in The Vista) and we were able (for the most part) get a table for our (big) group this past weekend.
Food wise– you can get most of what is served here at other restaurants in the area — nothing over the top that would have me coming back again and again. Probably since there was a big group, there was more of a wait than I cared for between our drink orders and by the time our food orders were finally taken. Given that this was a Saturday evening, a big group (along with what appeared a bachlorette party and World Cup Finals going on), our food was quickly delivered after our orders were placed.
I know the Harbison location has Trivia on Wednesday night — not sure about this location if they do trivia at all.

I only come here for the roof top bar when it’s nice outside to enjoy several Coronas. Don’t expect any quick service here or great food, start serving buckets of local oysters or anything original.
