I visited Calhoun’s on a Saturday in December to do some Christmas shopping. I ended up knocking several items off my list and plan to return to buy some things for my myself. They had free gift wrapping, free apple cider while you shop, friendly staff and a unique selection. The word that comes to mind when describing Calhoun’s is eclectic (in the best way).
Since it is the holiday season, a large portion of the store was dedicated to things like ornaments, holiday decorations, etc., but they still had plenty of non-​holiday inventory. Selection ranges from barware to books about dogs to baby clothes (and lots in between). I actually had a fun time browsing through each section of the store and finding hidden gems. It helped that the staff were friendly and helpful without being pushy. I’d recommend Calhoun’s to anyone looking for an uncommon gift or just a fun shopping experience.

I love going to Calhoun’s! They have great accessories for the home, and I especially love their selection of children’s books and toys. The staff are also very friendly and never pushy.

I can’t even with this place. I live in Kansas City, but when I go to Columbia to visit family, it is a definitely on my places to stop. They have a ton of fun stuff from Fred Flare, and lots of cute décor. They’re also a great place to find jewelry, stuff for babies and small children, as well as cards for any occasion.
You are pretty much guaranteed to find at least one thing in here for everyone in your life, and at least ten things for yourself.
