Pizza Man

I am biased because I like the pizza. The sauce has the right amount of spice, it has real cheese, and the crust is from fresh dough. I have been a customer since it stared in the early 90’s I think in retail customer service is often inconsistent especially if you have it delivered or drive through. I never do either of these that is why I order and pick up and if there is a problem you can remedy it on the spot usually not have the added stress of a wrong order or bad service because the manager is present.

Love this place. Can’t beat the daytime carryout specials. I have always found the staff to be friendly unlike the other reviewers, but I pick it up and it is during the day. Pizza man makes my favorite pizza the crust, sauce, good cheese and the sausage is second to none.

We have had issues with the EXTREMELY poor customer service attitude of the manager, who seems to be the one primarily answering the phone for orders. However, we decided to give them another shot.
Ordering wasn’t an issue this time. However, when the order arrived, rather than ring the doorbell to the apartment complex, the driver called the cell number used to place the order to say that the pizza had arrived. When my wife went down to get the pizza, the delivery driver had not even gotten out of the car, but instead, through his closed window, made some gestures. When my wife indicated that she didn’t understand, he rolled down the window and said, «Do you have a pen?» (to sign the credit card receipt). She said no, and he said, «Well, you’re going to need one.» As a result, she had to trudge back through the apartment complex and back up to the apartment to get one. Irritated with the poor attitude and lack of preparedness of the driver, she did not include a tip, instead telling the delivery driver after signing the receipt, «Keep the pen, it’s your tip.» About 15 minutes later, the delivery driver called back on her cell phone and said, «I didn’t appreciate the pen or standing in your front yard,» and hung up.

I ordered my two pastas at exactly 4 PM. I was told over the phone it would be 45-​mins to an hour. That was fine. Until it was 5:20. So I called and checked on my order and was told that the driver was out. Ok, good. So my food was on it’s way. Keep in mind that I live less than a mile from the store. 15 minutes later I get my food. This is where it gets interesting…
Half jokingly I ask the driver if my pasta had to be flown in from Italy. He said I had called at the worst possible time and he didn’t start working until 5PM and there wasn’t a daytime driver. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW WHEN I ORDERED!
Now I am upset and call and speak to a manager. He was full of excuses and said that there was a driver on during the day. However, I don’t believe that at all. Why would my delivery driver make that up? It surely wasn’t giving the company a good excuse. He offered me a $ 5 coupon. I declined. I will never order from this restaurant again.
Now I am going to microwave my pasta. I wanted to get this lousy review in while it was still fresh in my memory.

I love thin crust and this doesn’t disappoint. Cheese, crust and toppings are 5 star. Sauce is 4 star.

We haven’t ordered from Pizza Man for a few years because we got tired of the «Pizza Man, what do you want?» type of service. So we decided to give them another try, but my wife was laughed at when she wanted to customize her order, by subtracting sausage and green peppers from one pizza, and passing on the double cheese on the other. Willy said, after laughing, that it’s very confusing.
Willy, you make flippin pizza, not rocket launchers. It’s time to realize that you are in business because of your customers, and their specific wants and needs. If you are the manager, you should know this.
Or, perhaps you could answer the phone like this:
«Pizza Man, we only make what’s on the menu, so what do you want?»
P. S. Their pizza and buffalo wings are amazing. Too bad the service sucks.
