Not 24 hours. First time & delicious! A tiny stand where you can order on foot or drive through. Their hours(according to their menu) are 6am-2am Sun-Thu, 6am-2am Fri & Sat. I got beef enchilada, which comes in twos. Not enough meat for meat lovers, but fantastic portion of veggies inside. I may ask for beef and cheese only in a burrito or taco next time. The guacamole was great! A bit on the saltier side, piled atop plenty chips! I’m going to ask if they can put in on the side next time, so the chips don’t get soggy. Salsa came in tiny separate containers but had tons of flavor!

Hooray! One of the better fast food Mexican places in Springs. I would spring for the fish tacos, which are fried and served with a baja sauce, or the chimichanga– size about as big as my forearm. The taquitos– or rolled tacos– are good too. This location has no indoor seating, however the one off powers does.

We stopped by Taco Express on our way to the San Dunes National Park, we were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the breakfast burritos and tacos were! After moving from Southern California to Boulder, I’m always looking for New Mexican food spots. I will definitely be stopping by here whenever I’m in the Colorado Springs area!

Wow what a gem for fast Mexican style food! I just moved to this area of town in Oct 2015 and at least 3 people have recommended the Taco Express for great food that is quick and cheap. My first visit I had the burrito for under $ 6 and it was full of flavorful meat and included avocado and other yummy ingredients. The red and green sauces on the side were potent and flavorful. It was quite large so I ate half and saved the rest for breakfast. I’m hooked after only one hit of the Taco Express and will probably be back weekly or more often.

I ordered a bacon, egg, potato breakfast burrito from drive through. Surprise! A cold/grey-colored and floppy bean burrito. Couldn’t even finish the first bite.

Since Ramon Q’s closed, this is the best Mexican street food in town. Hard to believe from a little grudgy drive threw… but true. Rivals El Taco Rey and the Latino truck downtown. Huge menu… a quick and good inexpensive way to have a south of the border experience and a yummy dinner with no shopping, chopping, and messy kitchen.

Outstanding!!! As a Texan in exile, I have searched the Springs high & low for good Mexican food but had given up hope of ever getting anything more than mediocre. That is, until I happened upon this gem one day while out shopping. The long line in the drive thru made me curious. I ordered a carnitas taco and a shredded beef taco with rice & beans. The tacos were some of the best I’ve ever eaten… ANYwhere! The meat is delicious and super lean like I like it. The beans are perfectly seasoned, creamy and fresh. Can’t wait to try their breakfast burritos! This place makes my homesickness a little more bearable.

Our order was almost all wrong so we decided to take it back. Not only did they not apologize for their mistake but they were incredibly rude. I understand a lot more Spanish than I can speak and they were talking about me right in front of me. If the customer service was better I would definitely give it another shot but after the experience I had, we’ll never be back.

The sign says Mexican fast food, but from where I’m from id just call it food truck worthy or hole in the wall deliciousness. Not only is it open 24 hours, the portions were ridiculously huge. For $ 8 I got a hefty amount of chips, salsa, carne Asada, sour cream, beans sauce and guac was NOEXTRA charge. The red sauce on the side was amazing too! I was stuffed barely after eating ½ the portion.

The food is usually great when getting a breakfast burrito, a classic tortas, or usually any burrito. Tonight however, I got a smothered burrito with chicken. It turned out to just be a tortilla filled with chicken… Nothing else. The regular burritos come with the standard fixings inside with your choice of protein, guacamole, the normal burrito filling of carbs and whatever else you decide… The smothered burrito apparently only has the tortilla, the protein, and the sauce on it. I’ll be back again I’m sure, but this burrito was a waste of my money. I should have just ordered tortillas with chicken. I would not have ordered it if they stated that the only thing included in your smothered burrito is the single protein… Come on now

This particular review is a little unfair to the business, but I don’t know how else to get their attention on the matter: Guys. I thought the problem was just at the Tutt and Powers location, but it’s spread to this location as well — the new red sauce(salsa cup you get with your order) is rank. Nasty. I *hate* it. I used to order extras of the old stuff because it was so divine. I don’t know what you guys have done, the extra specks in the sauce are pepper, or something… but that’s my hint that the sauce is horrid. The old sauce was just red and liquid and spicy and delicious. The green one is still using the old formula as of this writing, and it’s OK, but I really rather enjoy the old red one much better. OK, I’ll stop beating the horse at this point. But please listen and go back if you can. Blech!

Don’t be fooled by the dingy exterior this place serves some good ass mexican food. The Colorado Burrito is great and so are the Juevos Rancheros. You cannot go wrong with either one and ask for the green or «verde» sauce. The people who work here are hard working and have been here awhile. If you’ve got a hankering for some good fast mexican food to go then go here. You can totally eat the Colorado Burrito while driving but having a big towel or a bunch of napkins handy or you will have mexican food grease stain on your pants. It’ll be worth it but better to plan ahead and lay out a towel and eat without a care in the world. Do not waste your time or money going to Taco Bueno which is just an upscale Taco Bell. If you want real food made by real people go to Taco Express. Just don’t judge it by the outside cuz it looks pretty run down. Judge it by the food!

I’ve been enjoying Taco Express off and on for 5+ years and today they hit the ball out of the park with the three chicken tacos on soft corn tortillas I ordered. Wowzers!!! Absolutely delicious. The sauce is amazing and the chicken is tender and fresh tasting. So, SO very good. Why I don’t enjoy their food more often is beyond me. It puts every Mexican restaurant I can think of in the local Colorado Springs area to shame.

With all these great reviews and four stars I was excited. Perhaps my disappointment was in the fact that I’m a vegetarian, even though beans & rice is ideal for me. Overall, the food was so oily and messy. Expected from fast food, but not really. Tons of tex-mex, etc. that is delicious and not full of fat. I didn’t like the flavors at all. My husband got a chicken chimichanga and my son chicken with rice. The chicken was so different looking and tasting. My husband had shredded and seasoned white meat, while my son got what looked like oily, unseasoned, chopped up chicken pieces. I won’t be back, ever.

If I every find myself extremely hung over in Colorado Springs, I am heading straight over to Taco Express!!! Have you ever been to that taco joint where you can pretty much look at the menu and order about half of it? Well this place has all of the shit you shouldn’t eat but really really want to eat! Carne Asada French Fries so large it needs to be held with both hands. Do I need to say more? Well, I didn’t just order that. Nope, I decided that I needed a burrito as well. The flour tortilla on the burrito was that buttery soft tortilla you can wrap yourself up in if you need to sleep one off in the alley. I made the huge mistake of going here in the start of a large road trip to PHX. Food coma hit me hard! It took me about 600 miles to come around. This place has been bookmarked for the next time I’m Ubering in Colorado Springs needing some knock you out Mexican food.
