Food and service outstanding. Had my Rubin and friends had Jr Burger and Pastrami all tasted great. NOFRILLS just great food and service! Pepsi products. Insider tip — Half basket of fries will fill three people. Each day has a meat special which is always best value but any day is always good.

First time here, was pleasantly surprised at the diner feel inside, staff was attentive and friendly. Denver omelette was awesome. Nice large portions, fresh made and delivered with a smile. Recommend to try it!

Great breakfast! Omelette was tasty and that was one big pancake! Would differently come back! Too bad we found it on our way out!

The BEST open-faced turkey sandwich anywhere.(Note only on Thursdays!) Pleasant wait staff. Hand whipped mashed potatoes, not instant. Comfort food in a basic utilitarian restaurant. Lots of bang for your buck.

It is an «OK» place to go for breakfast, but one of the best places to go for lunch on a cold day. This place is old school diner with a focus on comfort food. Thursdays are the day for open faced Turkey specials. Yum! Their burgers are pretty good and their waitstaff is usually pretty attentive and quick… usually friendly… and sometime very cute. ;) This place has a lot of regulars… there is a reason for that. :) There are two locations, both are very similar, but this one(8th street) is my preferred location.

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, inside is tasty food and great quick service. Simple diner style place w/layback atmosphere. Breakfast was good w/prices to match.

Huge sandwiches and portions! My dad has been stopping by here for over 30 years. First time for me today. Had the GIANT Reuben — it was really good. The service wasn’t overly friendly, but they weren’t rude either. Prices seem fair and the food is better than most diners I’ve been to. I would come back. 4 stars for the food.

A hole in the wall old school café with throwback style. I had the grilled roast beef with peppers and onions smothered with cheese. My son had the jumbo(for real) hamburger, both meals were good comfort food. Yes it’s aged and maybe a little greasy spoon like but I liked my meal. I don’t get the springs often but if I was in the neighborhood I would stop by for a bite.

An old school diner that’s in serious need of a management and chef change pronto!!! Burned food, dirty classes and silverware, won’t be returning anytime soon!

I went for their signature roast beef sandwich but sadly, decided upon their corned beef sandwich, instead. My advice is to stay with the roast beef sandwich. The corned beef is not the corned beef you have experienced in the NY delis. I should have known better but felt like a good corned beef sandwich would be more enjoyable than roast beef at that moment. And a good corned beef sandwich would have been. Just didn’t happen. The corned beef in my sandwich was wet, mild flavored and not at all what I had hoped it would be. The horseradish was a huge help as they use the full strength horseradish here.(You know… the horseradish that clears your nasal passages while blowing flames from your nostrils. You could toast your own sandwich if you desired to do so!) The service was prompt, friendly and patient… we stayed past closing hours without realizing it and they didn’t say a word. While I have had much better corned beef, the service was top flight. Three stars, overall.

Surprisingly good Regan-era diner. Cooks have a method and it works. Waitresses in the business 30+ years and the experience shows. Décor is dated and worn but effective. Reminiscent of a 1980’s Midwest mom n’ pop joint. Worth going. A-.

You gotta love an old school diner with good old home cooking. The clientele is full of local regulars. On weekends, it’s a favorite spot for people going up or coming down from the mountains. I had the hot roast beef and cheese sandwich and added a cup of green chile. Enjoyed both very much. You have to understand what you’re getting. Its not some fancy 5 star joint with professional interior designed look. It’s a local diner/hang-out and it’s good. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is stick to your ribs tastiness.

A great place for lunch. Portions are huge. Open-faced roast-beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy are available Monday-Saturday.(Yummy!) But our favorite, the open-faced turkey breast sandwich, also with mashed potatoes & gravy, is only available on Thursdays and Fridays. Plus, you’d better come early. When they run out of turkey, they’re out!

They have a pancake the size of a 9″ plate!!! AAAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDD it was delicious!!! The prices here are very fair and the service is pretty darn good too. Even though I don’t live in Colorado and was only visiting at the time I ate here, I would definitely recommend this place and eat here again when I visit Colorado again.

This is my favorite breakfast place in the Springs! I’ve been to both locations about 15 times and everything I order is delicious. The breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito are probably my favorites, but the roast beef sandwich with green peppers and the rueben are very good as well. The service is always fantastic and everyone I have met there has been very friendly. Go try it!

A genuine greasy spoon! The type of food I love(unfortunately, it shows;). I ate a late breakfast here for the first time over the weekend. I’ve eaten breakfast late before but not here;) Chicken fried steak, two eggs, home fries and two pieces of toast which was around $ 7.50. The food, which I could not finish simply because there was too much, was great. My eggs, over easy, were cooked wonderfully! Chicken fried steak was the usual, nothing spectacular or extraordinary, but tasted great. Over all, the food was good, greasy spoon food. Staff was friendly and attentive. It is an older place, not dirty but older looking. There is a fairly large counter to sit at with a TV for your viewing pleasure. The dining area is good size as well. It’s a greasy spoon, nothing more, nothing less. I’ll go back for sure!!!

I received a gift certificate for this place over the holidays and decided to finally go. I’ll be honest — the environment won me over. Lunch time in this diner is like a good-olé’- boys convention. I ordered a Jr. Burger which happens to be 8 ounces. I can’t help but wonder on what planet a half-pound burger is Jr. I shared a full order of fries with my partner. While the atmosphere had me fooled, the food I received was less than stellar. My burger, ordered medium, was dry and tasteless and the fries, while they get points for being fresh cut, became waxy and hard the second they cooled. It’s a shame — this place had me ready for a tasty diner experience. This being said, I will give Sheldon’s another chance but order something else. I’m quite intrigued by their funnel cake fries???
