Yep, long lines, good news is they move quick(walk up is almost always faster than drive through). Ice cream choices are almost endless, try a Boston Shake, a milkshake with a sundae on top of it. Friendly service and great prices

Came here after eating pizza from next door. The pizza next door and this ice cream make you feel like you are back in time or in a small town. Both are wonderfully straightforward. I got a little swirl cone dipped in butterscotch and hubbie got butterfinger blizzard kind thing. Both were great. I can not think of another area I Had rather go, it is pleasure here!

Great food and young people who work there! I’ve been going to this place since the 90’s getting iceburg’s and fried mushrooms. They’ve always come through with the best food and customer service

Best soft serve ice cream in town! I have been coming here for many years, and will continue to. Everything is wonderful, but a cone dipped in sprinkles and crunch is my all time favorite. Just be careful on a hot day, big portions = big mess.(But well worth it) =)

Holy moly is this stuff good! My sister and I split a strawberry shortcake sundae and we each got a BJ’s Special. The sundae is better(yes BETTER!) than the smaller Portillo’s version. The burger(which is basically like a freshly made Big Mac) and fries were on point! Everything just tasted fresh. The ambiance is very retro and kind of made me think that this is one of those spots that you’d see in a movie based around the 1950s or 1960s, and that there should be a drive-in movie theater next door. I definitely want to come back again and try more of their menu items out, well done BJ’s!

Hard to get too excited when I didn’t get what I ordered or paid for. This place used to be a great place… Not so much anymore. The very young staff gave me their best«don’t know» look and«don’t care» shrug when I went back. Be prepared… They are too busy to care. Just eat what you are served…

My girlfriend used to live in the area when she was younger and would always talk about this place… HUGEPORTIONS for a tiny price! Great service if you don’t mind waiting in line for a little bit!

This is one of my favorite places to get ice cream when it’s hot out. Reasonable prices and yummy treats! Their burgers are good also, they put a special sauce on them, so good!

The ice cream here is amazing. My parents had me try it the other day. Way better than dairy queen. Recommend everyone try it.

If you like cold treats, you MUST come here. It is a nightmare for me that I live so close to this place. I am new to town and I already can’t count how many times I’ve had BJ’s… And I don’t even like ice cream that much!!! I highly recommend cone and dip. All flavored I’ve tried are good. But my favorite is butterscotch. I always have small, and it’s quite big.

I take my kids here weekly after school as a treat… For the love of all that is delicious, I would jump squeal with glee if they’d for once offer something soft and frozenly ice-creamish(cool people can make up words) for those of us that can’t or choose not to eat dairy or meat. I just drink soda here, which makes me feel a bit like a sad bugger. Then, as I wait for my kids ice cream to be squirted out of the machines, I wish that I lived in Denver where they care more about expanding options for those of us that don’t care for frozen sweetened bovine secretions. I get over it, suck up my pain like a true American(we never complain or voice feelings) and drive home, which is an interesting story that I’m sure you’re all fascinated by. Now, for what it is, this little place is a Colorado Springs icon for soft-serve, despite it being a bit«dive-y»… The giant ice-cream cone on the roof demands attention. Everything on their menu looks exactly like what you actually get and prices are quite reasonable. The staff is smiley, and generally seem to enjoy their job. With that said, I don’t recommend the fried mushrooms… They’re pretty repulsive, but to their credit; when my daughter vomited them up all over their table the staff was quick to clean it up. So, that’s… good. … The end.

Went there as a kid and now that I live on my own I have been back and will keep coming back there food is the bomb and the ice cream is to die for. I didn’t have time to wait in line for drive through but walked up to the window and was served and helped right away. The prices are the best in the business not to high or not to low just right. I will always be back as long as there around.

PRICES for the soft-serve, 2-flavors-only ice-cream are very, very good($ 2.18 for a beyond-enormous, comically-LARGE cone!!!) Plenty of «Magic-Shell”-like dips and toppings. Ice-cream quality is indeed, «velvet-y» and dense but a bit low on flavor(hence the topping options). Nothing really all that special. Pork-tenderloin sandwich is good texture, moist and tender, but utterly flavorless and unimpressive. Quality is above-average and price is reasonable. This place is an example similar to Fargo’s Pizza, Bean Bandit, or the now-defunct Conway’s Red Top burgers. It’s not particularly good per-se, but it’s a bit of classic Colorado Springs. It survives on nostalgia and hyper-cheap prices alone. It’s worth a visit, but I recommend Glacier Homemade Ice-cream & Gelato on Nevada as a far more rewarding experience. Got a lot of kids? Go here on the cheap.

Really good ice cream and toppings. The prices are fair and great service! No place to sit inside but a great place to go for dessert after some great Pizza next door.

Dog friendly! I saw 5 nice dogs here, both in line and in the overflow seating area attached to an adjacent pizzeria. And why wouldn’t those dogs be happy? Some amazing golden crispy fries, a Monsterburger the size of my car, and cheap ice cream goodies galore were the highlights of our meal. The low point was the fried pork cutlet; it is pretty bland compared to the cheaper and more gargantuan Monsterburger, I think the pork just needs more sauce. Anyway, don’t let the double entendre name turn you off. BJs is a super cheap family night or date night with a nice view and enjoyable fare. The lines can take a while, but they moved faster than I thought. Enjoy!

Subpar at best! The ingredients in the sundaes always taste freezer burnt and chewey, the ice cream is nothing to write home about. The wait is always ridonculous even in non peak season.

Born and raised in Colorado Springs and this was somehow my first time at BJ’s. Maybe it’s because there are always long lines and tons of people waiting for their cones. I hate lines. I think there’s a reason this place as been around for so long. The cones look a lot like the pictures you see in the drive thru. Soft serve ice cream is reliable and comfy. We ordered two tipped cones: cherry and strawberry. The«dip» for both had a texture somewhere between cold butter and those big red shiny wax lips candy you used to buy as a kid. I can’t say this texture was a bad thing, it was just unexpected as we anticipated something with crack and crunch like chocolate flavored Magic Shell I begged my mom to buy back in the 80s. The ice cream itself was generous and creamy and fun to eat. I could see myself making another stop if I happen to pass by and the lines aren’t too long. Next time, butterscotch. I hear it’s the best dip flavor.

I’m not quite sure how I haven’t reviewed this place! It’s on my way home, or I can easily make it on my way. I can walk here, and walk the dog here… So I stop here, a lot. A LOT. It is my current guilty pleasure. Most of the time it’s for my usual butterscotch and toasted coconut dip cone but more often than not that turns into an island oasis with ice cream or a cheeseburger. They also have a decent pork chop sandwich that’s pretty huge. Being the huge glutton that I am, I feel good at least supporting a local business. Also they have doggie dishes of vanilla for the pups. I usual get my dog a child size vanilla for the same price in a cone, minus the styrofoam bowl. Decent outdoor area, it can get crowded in the late afternoon since it’s across the street from a school.
